  1. Meeting at Landsverk regarding 30 ton TD (11-02-47)

  3. The reason for the meeting was to discuss the guidelines for the construction of a 30 ton td chassis that is also to be used as a basis for a new heavy tank.
  4. Preliminary discussions on the development of new tank and TD types were held with landsverk on (23-08-46) on the basis of the conclusions of the 1945 armor comitte.

  8. According to the czech the shape of the tank should be much more sloped than currently. The frontal armor should have a angle of about 30dg and should not have any hatches.
  9. The height should be made lower than before, preferably no higher than 2500 mm. Torison bar suspension adds to the height of the vehicle and due to this the Czech experts reccomend another type.
  10. A diesel engine is seen as preferable due to longer range and lower chance of a fire. A fully automatic gun isnt needed, instead a semi automatic gun with at least 5 rounds per minute is.
  11. The tank should carry at least 60 rounds. A rear mounted transmission is preffered on tanks over 25 tons, mainly because the frontal armor can be given a better shape.

  15. Some research has been done into buing a foreign 550-600 hp engine, the results are yet unclear. A new roadwheel have been developed with a matching 600mm wide track link.

  18. Torison bars must be easier to replace. A more reliable engine is needed, the air circulation around the engine must be improved. More attention needt to be put on the ease to maintain the vehicles.

  21. During the development of the 30 ton TD chassis conciderations should be made so that it can be used for a tank chassis in the 25-30 ton range. Currently the need for this tank is less pressing than for the TD.

  23. The frontal armor should be given a slope of around 30dg and the sides a maximum slope of 75dg. It should be possible to mount sideskirts outside the tracks.
  24. The engine should give a sustained top speed of 60 kph which would require a 670hp engine.
