- Yo, what's your deal? Like why are you so chide with people? Every time someone asks a question you give lip. I don't understand. Is it a personal issue? Or?
- I have bit my lip about it for a long time, but I'm trying to figure out what the deal is.
- I grew up in rank heresy. Forgive me for not being up to your speed of though and theology. Jesus. I'm done. Have a great day brother.

- I have a wife and child. Sorry I couldn't stay. I appreciate what you do and you're a very smart young man, and I have learned a lot from you. You have taught me a lot, but the way you approach people with your approach to apologetics sometimes is pretty unbecoming.
- Yes, I know I'm an ass as well. I don't deny that. I just don't know if this is personal, or just how you reach, or.... just trying to understand.

- Thanks for messaging me instead of blocking me. I'm not sure what to make of you accusation "Every time someone asks a question you give lip", what do you mean by "give lip"?

- I dunno Trey. Maybe I just haven't sat down and asked you. Maybe IM wrong. I just see you being short with people who are genuine people over petty issues. Have I done this? Yes. Maybe it's because we don't know one another. I mean maybe I took "I was teaching but you left" wrong. I just see lots of people here who can't just talk. Everyone wants a debate.

- It just seems like everyone talks over each other, and that frustrates me
- Maybe I should get to know you. Maybe I misjudge.

- Probably that you dont know me. The issue you have is an issue I have in my marriage. I'm a mathematician, and it has made my natural communication style very terse. It's programmed into my brain to use as few words as possible. It's something I struggle with in my relationships with people in general. It is never a problem with people who think like I do. My four best friends are a statistician, a statistician, an engineer, and a biologist. Not once have they ever misinterpreted my words because they communicate just as I do.

- When I actually get cross with people on the page I usually stop commenting.
- And I'm not sure how to fix it
- It seems unreasonable to me to have to put a copypaste disclaimer before each of my comments saying something like "Im just asking a question, Im not saying anything about you."

- Jon Watson
- Okay. I will keep that in mind. I can't understand that. Perhaps I should have asked.
- *can

- Too often my questions are abused as assertions.

- Well you typical back up your answers, I just don't deal with many dialogues in this manner.
- I like you Trey, I just don't understand you. Lol
- Trey Mason

- My primary method of debate is called "Socratic deconstruction"
- Jon Watson

- Jon Watson
- You have a very straightforward approach to dialogue. I guess I should keep that in mind. I don't believe you're malicious. I honestly don't.
- Trey Mason
- 11:02
- Trey Mason
- And when it works, people dont like it
- Because it exposes the logical flaws in their thinking
- And they interpret that as me making them feel like theyre stupid
- Jon Watson
- 11:03
- Jon Watson
- Well, I think sometimes we put so much faith in our logic we don't use wisdom with the way we approach people though. You are still dealing with people with emotions and certain methods on which they relate to what's being presented.
- Trey Mason

- because they see how their view no longer makes sense and they feel dumb for having believed it
- then blame that on me
- Jon Watson

- Jon Watson
- I always believed in respecting ones feelings to an extent however. Now, granted, I understand that isn't always how we should approach dialogue, because feelings wain, but they are worth respecting. I think that's all I was getting at in my hulk-out. Forgive me. I will get to know you better sir.
- Trey Mason

- Trey Mason
- Here's the thing. For six months I have been operating under the assumption that the page was for theological debate. If it was a place where everyone's personal opinions and feelings about theological issues were to be respected and not questioned, Drew would have said so. In light of that, feelings have zero relevance and significance to matters of universal, scriptural truth.
- Trey Mason

- So I dont really care how you feel about your belief or my belief
- Jon Watson
- 11:28
- Jon Watson
- So you basically are an ass?
- And are just gonna continue? Is that the deal? Lol.
- Jon Watson

- Jon Watson
- Let me be frank now we're here. No one gives a shit how many degrees, philosophies, or how "smart" you are. There are real people here, who aren't your "debate fodder." Like you get shits and kicks from. No one here really gives a damn that you have knowledge. Can I be frank now? When your a dick about your approach, no one takes you seriously. You're just another guy who went to school and read books.
- Jon Watson

- Someone needs to read 1 Cor 13
- Peace
- I like you bro, but you are a popoff. Call it "an approach to philosophy" or whatever. At the end of the day you're a kid know-it-all. I'm sorry we're here but damn. Lol.
- Trey Mason
- 11:33
- Trey Mason
- So I'm open and honest with you about the sins I struggle with, and that's what you give me? AND THEN you tell me that *I* need to read 1 Corinthians 13?

- Well I mean you came at me saying you didn't give a shit about people's feelings. Did Jesus?
- Christ's sake man. Everyone isn't your experiment.
- The page is a Christian community. It's not just debate. It's for people to become friends and family and bear each other's burdens. That's the part of th gospel Seminary doesn't teach.
- Trey Mason
- 11:35
- Trey Mason
- You dont care about me. You're just trying to justify how you feel about me.
- I opened up to you because I thought you were here to listen.
- Jon Watson

- Trey. I want to care about you man, but I feel like you don't care about what I'm saying because you already have your defense made
