- The Drowning in Games Challenge (DIG):
- Over 20+ years time, I have managed to collect over 975 games on Steam, Origin, UPlay, and PSN, as well as physical games. That is a lot of games. I've probably played about 1/4th of the list, maybe completed about 1/6th of the list.
- I want to fix that. What better way than to stream the challenge?
- Of course, there are some rules to the challenge, as there are games that do not meet some specific requirements.
- 1) The game must have a beginning and an end. This means no endless runners, party games, competitive multiplayer games, and certain arcade style games (Top score, non-mission/story based games like Geometry Wars, Audiosurf, etc).
- 2) Racing, Fighting, and Massively Multiplayer (MOBAs, MMOs, etc) games are excluded due to the nature of the games.
- 3) Games must be either played to beaten status OR at least 2-4 hours of actual gameplay if it is not enjoyed.
- 4) Season/Episodic-based games (Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Back to the Future, etc) MUST at least have Episode 1 completed. If I enjoy it/continue past the first episode, I must complete the entire season before I start the next game.
- 5) I do not have to play all games in a series together (Arkham series, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, etc), but it is preferred.
- 6) If I've played a game before, I may opt out of playing it as part of the challenge. If I wish to play it again in the challenge, I must obey Rule 3.
- 7) If a game becomes unplayable (constantly crashes, doesn't work, etc), unstreamable (in the potential case of DOSBOX games), I realize it breaks Rule 1 during gameplay rather than beforehand, then it may be skipped immediately rather than following Rule 3.
- 8) No speedrunning the games. If I opt to play a game I already speedrun, I must play the game as it was normally intended to be played (No glitches, no timer), as well as follow Rule 3.
- This challenge is by no means meant to be done in a certain amount of time (such as the 52 games/1 year challenge). It is only for me to challenge myself to actually playing everything I own. By streaming the challenge, it's a better way for me to keep accountable in the process.
- If you want to know what games are going to be played in the challenge, here are my up-to-date lists:
