  1. To get started creating your first WordPress blog post, locate the Blog menu in the left-hand. Click the Add New Blog Post link. Now you’ll see the Add New Blog Post page where you can create your first post.

  3. The first box is where you’ll want to enter the title of your post.

  5. Next is the post editor. This is where you’ll actually type the content of your post.

  7. If you look on the right side of the box, you’ll see two tabs. There are two modes of editing posts: Visual and Text.

  9. At the top of the right column on this screen you’ll see the Publish box. Here, your can save your blog post as a draft if you’d like to save it for later. If you click the Preview button, you can get a preview of how the blog post will look once it’s published.

  11. The Status of the blog post will show if the post has been published, saved as a draft, if it’s pending review of if it’s been scheduled.

  13. Featured Image (Blog Post Thumbnail)
  14. It is the last box in right hand column on the post edit screen. Simply click on set featured image link, and it will bring up the media uploader popup. You can select an image from your previous uploads or upload a new image from your computer.
