Summoner Campaign

Far away from humans, there exists a realm known as Arges. You were always told stories of Arges housing an old race, far older than your own; The Ancients. They were said to be the original race of humans who walked the earth with Gods and Deamons, taming them with their powerful Hymn Magic- their voices. You always remembered the first legend- Why Ancients weren’t alongside you anymore. There was once a great demon that not even they could tame; the Leviathan. The Leviathan was said to have a hunger to swallow the world, and in trying to control it, The Ancients slowly began dying. All hoped seemed lost… Then, seven of the Ancients appeared, each wielding remarkable power. Bacchus, the warlord… Simia, the magus… Toris, the hunter…  Alth, the assassin… Jewel, the thief…  Cordela, the apostle… And Luneth, the Summoner.  All together, these seven great heroes sacrificed their life force, and the power of the Ancients, to banish Leviathan to the underworld. The Gods took pity on the seven heroes, and they raised them to a new world, called Arges. The rest of the Ancients, having lost their power, began new lives as normal humans…

That was the story you had been told since you were but children, although it all seemed like a distant memory to your world. Only a fairytale that young children would believe.  As such, you didn’t understand why the village always held a festival for it, celebrating the heroes. You had supposed it was all simply tradition, though. All of it is, even selecting seven of the village members to act as “heroes.” Oh, wait, was the Elder staring at you…?
