  1. Greetings!
  3.    Thanks for your interest in the Star Wars Despecialized Edition. First of all, allow me to reiterate that I had no personal involvement in the creation of this project; that honor goes to "Harmy". I'm just a fellow Star Wars fan helping others discover this amazing project (with Harmy's permission).
  5.    Getting copies of the Despecialized Editions of Star Wars can be a hurdle if you don't know what you're doing, so I'm here to help. Remember, YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD THE DESPECIALIZED EDITION IF YOU ARE A LEGAL OWNER OF THE OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE STAR WARS BLU-RAY DISKS. This Star Wars fan community is built on the honor system, so your word is sufficient. Simply realize that if people who don't own legal copies of the Star Wars films obtain the Despecialized Edition, it's entirely possible that the entire project would have to shut down before it's finished due to piracy allegations. So be sure to encourage people to support the Star Wars franchise and purchase the official Blu-rays!

  9.    There are a few ways to obtain copies of the Despecialized Edition of Star Wars, but only a couple are trusted and verified sources.
  11.    The most convenient download method is via the private torrent tracker MySpleen.org. On this site, you simple go to the Torrents page and search for "Harmy" to bring up a list of all available versions of Harmy's various projects (including, but not limited to, the Star Wars Despecialized Editions of the Original Trilogy). If you don't already have an account with that site, you'll need an invite to join. Create an account on the MySpleen Forums (http://www.myspleen.org/forums/) and post in this forum (http://www.myspleen.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=25) if you need an invite.
  13.    Keep in mind that since MySpleen is a private tracker [unlike notorious public trackers like ThePirateBay, which currently hosts many inferior/outdated torrents for Harmy's projects], there are certain expectations you must meet to have access to that community. Read the guidelines here (http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/post/610126/#TopicPost610126).

  17.    If getting the torrents gives you difficulty, head over to the forums on tehPARADOX.com, and create a free account so that you can view the part-by-part download links on the official thread, found at the link below:
  18. (http://tehparadox.com/forum/f89/harmys-star-wars-despecialized-edition-2543089/)
  20.    The recommended way to handle this download method is to use a program like JDownloader (http://jdownloader.org/), in which you'll copy and paste multiple download links at once into the program, after which the downloader automatically handles each download and combines the files once done. Unfortunately, the "official" installer of this program is infamous for having spyware and other problems bundled with it. An article on PCWorld.com (http://www.pcworld.com/article/248743/jdownloader.html) pointed out this problem, and provided a "clean" installer of the program. While the download is no longer available there, I have uploaded this clean installer of JDownloader available for download at the following link:
  21. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nnuhmcndslymi9x/JDownloaderSetup_PCWorld.exe?dl=0
  23.    If you want to avoid using JDownloader, you can manually download each "part" and use a .RAR extractor to combine multiple parts into one archive with a program like WinRAR (https://www.win-rar.com/). Use the text "harmy" if you're prompted for a password when extracting.

  27.    I highly encourage you to visit the official forum threads on OriginalTrilogy.com for each film of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, found at the following links:
  28. Star Wars: (originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/topic/12713/)
  29. Empire Strikes Back: (http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/topic/12511/)
  30. Return of the Jedi: (http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/topic/12905/)
  32.    The first post of each thread will tell you about the most current version of that film along with detailed specifications. All the current information about the Despecialized Editions can be found through there, so browsing & searching (http://www.google.com/#q=site%3AOriginalTrilogy.com+Harmy+Star+Wars+%22ENTER+SEARCH+TERM+HERE%22) that forum should answer any questions you still have. In addition, it's a great place to communicate with Harmy and the other contributors of this project!
  34.    If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me (assuming you find a way to contact me) and I'll help however I can!
  36.    May the Force be with you,
  37.    -HanDuet
