  1. Our story began in late 1889, when Fusajiro Yamauchi started the Nintendo company, as a card company. It would make card games for everyone including the famous Hanafuda cards which became popular in Japan. Later, when Hiroshi Yamauchi took over Nintendo, it became from a card game company, into a electronic company. They made several products, but some of them were weird like the Ultra Machine, the Love Tester, and they even owned a hotel for lovers. Nintendo would later show up in the video game market with the Color TV-Game. It was in the first generations console, and was more successful in Japan. However, Nintendo hadn't gave it to the US market, yet. Later on April 28, 1980, Nintendo released a series of handheld devices named Game & Watch. In addition, it was the first console to enter the US market. On August 1981, Microsoft released MS-DOS. It was harder to perform because of it's lack of graphical interface. However, this was computers in the early years, so graphical interfaces weren't that popular. But, this was the grandfather of the Microsoft Windows operating systems, a series of operating system still used today. Prior to that, on July 9, 1981, Nintendo made something that was not suppose to be popular: Donkey Kong. It was the best arcade ever, as it was the first appearance of Donkey Kong, Mario, and Pauline. To play it, you have to climb up girders and ladder while avoiding barrels and yes, you guess it: Fireballs. To defeat these barrel, just grab the hammer, and then, you can destroy the barrels instantly. Soon, you have to pass three more stages, where 100 m, is the last stage, and then, you defeated Donkey Kong. Interesting fact: Stage 3, which is 75 m, is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros Brawl. Then, came the worst nightmare in video game history: The video game market crashed due to several issues including too many consoles, and poorly made games like Pac-Man and E.T for the Atari 2600. The game market was dead. Without video games, the market will never be the same again. But moving on to Apple, Steve Jobs was developing the Macintosh, which was another complex operating system, but included a graphical interface. On January 22, 1984, Apple has released an ad for the upcoming Macintosh, during which it was being played during the Super Bowl XVIII. Let's look at the orginal Macintosh. The Macintosh included a Motorola 68000, along with a 128 KB DRAM by a 16-bit data bus. Macintosh came with a keyboard and mouse, and few other ports are available behind the Macintosh. The storage was 400 KB, and if you insert a floppy drive and remove it, it remains the same. The Mac OS version can go from OS 1.0 to OS 3.2. Even though it was not popular, it was a great system, as it was the first Macintosh. After the Macintosh was released, Steve Jobs quit Apple, because of an arguement with John Sculley. Later at Hasbro, Bonnie Zacherle came with the idea of My Little Pony, and it was meant for girls. Meanwhile the gaming industry was in total chaos. Without enough games, the video game market was a failure. But then on October 18, 1985, Nintendo had decide to send one of it's console, the Famicom, to the US market and re-brand it as Nintendo Entertainment System, which would save the video game market forever.
