MLP company

Riding along the desert sun,
he looks out onto the horizon.
deep in his head he ponders how the setting sun
interacts with the young winter. He questions
the onyx magic of the night, and wonders just how
a soldier could fall in love with it.

The desert wanderer,
 the hum of the convoy,
the warping of the Plexiglas window distorts the world,
allowing him to shape it in his mind. The desert wanderer.
The humming of a bug, something rare in the barren lands, the desert
wanderer. The little girl, orphaned, finding refuge where she can. So young,
so full of knowledge she should not have, but experience creates wisdom.

Love finds its way into everything.
The widow who did not deserve the loss,
Two children holding each other close on a cold night.
He hears the mischievous giggle of the angel who cast his spell,
two boys found love in one another. Can there be one without another?
the man on the gun makes his joke. He blinks. The world is passing him by again.
Rifle against his body, pondering such things,
