Got this game working today: (don't use the included crack on disc 4)
1. Don't use the autorun install. Open the disc and run
the setup in xp sp 2 compatibility mode.
2. Set the launcher, and swkotor exes to also run in xp
sp 2 mode.
3. Update the game from the launcher.
4. Went to gamecopyworld and searched for "Knights of
the old Republic", downloaded the 1.03 NOCD fix.
5. copied the fixed exe over the swkotor exe and made
sure it was also set to run in xp sp 2 mode.
It worked for me on Vista 32bit. Hope that helps. I know that it would be easier if all the answers were provided for you sometimes, but I found all of these answers for myself using a magic little tool: Google. Please just be grateful for the hard work of the people that provide us such files. Asking for help is one thing, being ungrateful...that's another.
