  1. After so many The Lion King TASes, EZGames69 couldn't leave this one behind, so he teamed up with Tompa to improve the [1191M|previous TAS] by a total of 9221 frames. A lot of the improvements came from the more recent TAS of the [2716|SNES version] but also a new timesaver of over a minute in the level Be Prepared.
  2.
  3. !!!!Level by Level:
  4.
  5. ! The Prideland
  6. Time saved from a faster "clip" up to the bug, better optimisations and thanks to holding left+right to keep the speed between jumps. The hyena fight is faster because less hits are needed.
  7.
  8. ! Can't Wait To Be King
  9. After the first ostrich session, it's not possible in the Genesis version to land on the giraffe to keep the speed forward, but it can be done after you have landed on the ground, which was the same in the previous Genesis TAS. Otherwise, just small optimisations.
  10.
  11. ! The Elephant Graveyard
  12. The vultures are a pain, often in the way and there is not much you can do about it. Some time had to be lost in sections to avoid them. Nothing else
  13.
  14. ! The Stampede
  15. YES! IT'S SO GOOD! HIGHLIGT!
  16.
  17. ! Simba's Exile
  18. A couple of clips can't be done in the Genesis version. As they weren't present at all in the previous TAS, half a minute could still be saved.
  19.
  20. ! Hakuna Matata
  21. It's the same as the SNES run except that the clip after the waterfall can't be done. While you can clip into the wall, you can't clip out of it again. Damage was avoided against the monkey boss (That monkey we all loved from the movie, right?) with some better precision. Attacking him from below for the last hit should clearly give some style points!
  22.
  23. ! Simba's Destiny
  24. The panther fight were once agained skipped by clipping through. We managed to avoid taking damage, which slows you down, after each of the fight by using different setups as well as delaying the clip itself.
  25.
  26. ! Be Prepared
  27. New skip! When a panther is killed, it will move fall sideways until it goes off-screen. For the first couple of frames, you can re-grab it with the throw attack and thus clipping inside the wall. This skips the entire level except for the best (...) part of it. Luckily, thanks to the clip the pillars in the end spawned differently, which made it a few seconds faster.
  28.
  29. ! Simba's Return
  30. The Infinite Slash Glitch works differently in the Genesis version, you also can't setup the glitch where you can run around and damage them at the same time. This meant that many of the fights had to be slower than in SNES. We did our best however!
  31.
  32. ! Pride Rock
  33. Thankfully, damaging Scar while moving around still worked out, though differently... Simba has to slash in midair before landing on Scar, even then it may not always work. Once you have landed on Scar in this glitchy fashion, the next jump will be cancel in midair with Simba briefly being in a standing position, a side-effect from the game thinking he's still on Scar. When this happens the speed is lost and Simba drops down, this can only be cancelled by jumping, which is neccesary to do after the first two Scar fights in order to clear the next jump.
