If you are talkin about a certain place it's always THE place. If he TOLD something then he had to tell it to somebody so u add "told me" or "told him"
you can also use, "you said". If you are using DID/DIDN'T then you can't use following word in past since DID/DIDN'T is already in past so it's "see" not "saw"
