  6. **Item #:** SCP-2176
  7.
  8. **Object Class:** Euclid
  9.
  10. **Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-2176 should be contained at all times in a reinforced steel cube measuring one (1) square foot. The walls of this cube should be at least three (3) inches thick, and it is contained further in a six (6) foot square room with reinforced walls and a safe door capable of being remotely sealed. Periodical examination is required every two (2) weeks to trim any strands of SCP-2176 that have penetrated the walls of the containment unit. Trimmed strands are to be immediately incinerated. No biological creature beyond approved test subjects is to come in contact with SCP-2176. Should unapproved contact be made, the door is to immediately be sealed and the room flooded with ████ to terminate the contaminated biological creature.
  11.
  12. **Description:** SCP-2176 appears to be a ball of thread, lavender-tan in color, roughly five (5) inches in diameter. Testing to determine whether it shares other qualities with ordinary thread has proven inconclusive. On contact with a biological being, any disturbed strands will immediately activate and burrow into the body of the creature that made contact. The strands will progress through the body, stitching it together. Clothes will be attached to skin and any orifices will be stitched closed. Effects are irreversible. It has been deduced from the reactions of contaminated subjects that this process is extremely painful, though interviews with said subjects have proved impossible due to their inability to vocalize coherently after their mouths are sealed.
  13.
  14. Contamination by SCP-2176 is not fatal, but is contagious, and contaminated subjects should be immediately sealed away from other biological creatures. Subjects contaminated by SCP-2176 will usually survive up to eight (8) days before expiring from thirst, starvation, or other natural causes. Attempts to extend the lives of contaminated subjects have proven unsuccessful.
