- ---- Fallen Heaven "Crucify the Sky" -----
- S: *The moon shines an argentine light, only revealing the soft outlines otherwise hidden by the shadows of the night of the great city of Antriquel. Once an utopia of utmost technological superiority, now one of the few, phantom remnants of this world. This indiscriminate moonlight also happens to illuminate a particular scene, that is about to become an eventful night. Five figures stand in a dilapidated alleyway, partly concealed in the dark, their attention mostly directed at the structured walls of a building. The faded lettering of a sign in its facade reveals it is, in fact, an asylum. A person steps forward, calculating red eyes scanning the area for a moment. He seems almost as if factoring in things that did not exist. Maybe that is the case. Finally, he speaks.* "This is the wall. It needs to go."
- C: Is this... a mental asylum? *observes the building for a moment* I'd want to destroy it too. This place is ugly...
- S rolls his eyes, "Your observational skills are impressive. It's about to get worse."
- N: V: *blinks for a moment, then looks around briefly. Her tail swung around softly before it stopped as her head turned to a man right next to her* /Things in there feel a bit warm...but not too warm..hes right, it's an asylum alright../
- G places a hand on the wall. A second later, the wall becomes a mass of strange shapes and colors as the GREPTHU turns it into data to analyze. The being's eyes seem to shine as he scrolls through what it is that makes up the structure. Seeing a way to get in, an imprint begins to appear next to G's hand, which slowly collapses its way in. Mostly working its way down, the imprint gradually gets bigger, eventually taking the very rough shape of a door. It deepens, revealing the asylum inside, until the entire imprint is completely passable, just large enough for a single person to enter at a time. G removed "his" hand from the wall, whose color and structure for the most part returned to normal, save for the rough elliptical shape carved out within the structures "code." Along the edges, it seemed to at times warp into or away from the hole itself, as if it was having trouble even existing. "That should do for now."
- C leans over and peers through the portal. "Seems convenient".
- G: Well, isn't that why I did it. Surely we'd be discovered if we just BLASTED our way in there somehow.
- N nods briefly and takes the fire ferret's observation into account, then sticks his piercing violet gaze towards the wall and smirks. "Funny how we can actually do that with numbers and junk.." With a swift wave of his hand, he composed himself. "Blasting our way in is fun, don't deny that, G."
- S extends his hand slightly to the side. A sizzle of power snaps forth as he instantly tugs at an invisible... something. From the empty air, a line is pulled into visible existence, distantly faint, seemingly transfixed into nonthingness, but yet, it is /there/. The depthless, illusionary strand quickly circles around his hand, coiling and entangling into twisting shapes that are vaguely visible because of the poor illumination. "Heh. Perfect. Who goes first?"
- N: I nominate V. Shes small
- N: V: *shakes her head and softly growls* but I'm small game. I should be the last-- I can sense heat movements from bodies, that should be useful for whoever does go first.
- S looks at the ferret, "Go ahead, then. Perform a visual check of the area. If you are spotted, well..." a small chuckle escapes him, "It might be time to begin blowing things up."
- G begins to just walk in "Remember that this is essentially a glitch. If we don't go in quick, it might disappear, and I'd have to do that again. I would have preffered blasting in too, but that would not be very smart"
- N: V: *Nods and softly whispers* Okie-Dokie, then.....do I give a clear-to-go signal upon scanning the area?
- N carefully nips his fingertip and nods. "Well, we better get going. Go on, V."
- N: V: *carefully wanders to the wall and pokes her head in. Her nose sniffed the air, taking in the allure of industrialized enviorments and scents of people within the facility. She nodded then-after, leaping through the hole carefully and begining her trek down the solemn halls of the asylum.*
- N turns to S. "While shes doing that, I could probably sketch out this facility mentally. It seems useless, really, but you never know when I can use that for our own benifit /if/ we're caught."
- S 's lips curve slightly in a smirk of confidence, "That probably won't be the case, but we never know." /It won't be the case./
- C looks up into the sky, admiring the luminescence of the moon. /I shall see you again soon, beautiful. Stay shining; don't let any clouds obscure your brilliance~/. A nonchalant smile on his face, C strides towards the makeshift entrance. "Nobody's staying behind, are they?" he calls back, giving an odd, slow, backwards-waving motion with his hand at the few still in the alleyway.
- N: V: *Soon makes her way back to the entrance, making a slight meeping noise to confirm that it was clear to go in* /Ta-da~ Everything's calm as a mouse...'cept the crazy people talking, but thats normal I think/
- G: Normal people talk to themselves enough. I wouldn't doubt that it's normal for crazy people.
- S nods at V, "That's our cue. Let's go." He follows, going through the glitch-opening of the wall. It seems to be stable for now, but he figures that detail won't matter once they truly begin. Eventually, he reaches the other side of the faulted barrier, a hallway. "Just as planned... he should be here somewhere. Do not hesitate in attacking opposition."
- N: V: *Leaps out of the glitch opening and quickly runs to N, who is crouching slightly and holding up a finger towards the building. She gently nips on his sleeve and sniffs his hand* /C'mon, lets go~/
- N flinches, then looks at V. His vision blurred for a moment until he smirked and then put his hands in his pockets, standing up. "No need to say, I've already got things mapped out." He paused for a moment. "The overall structure seems to contain some small flaws like depressions within it's exterior. It could prove useful incase we need to blow people up." after such an observation, he made his way to the glitched opening and crossed through. V followed him.
- G: *The moment N enters made his way past the opening in the wall, it instantly returned to its normal state without any sort of expansion. The parts that G had to edit out instnatly returned, as if they were never removed.* "I suppose it's a good thing none of were in there when that happened. Might have been interesting to see how the body and the wall interacted with earch other, though"
- N: V: *Quickly leaps into the glitch opening before it closes, running to N's leg and then nodding* /Aaa, that was close.../
- C whistles in a rising pitch as S instructs any opposition to be dealt with. "So this is sort of a high-priority thing, eh? Or is your leadership style just that ruthless?" Reaching into his robe, he withdraws a small accessory-- an earring, shaped sharply and resembling a fan-- or maybe part of a flower. "In any case," C muses aloud, willing the jewelry to grow bigger, "it's no problem. I'll cut down anyone who gets in the way".
- S takes only a few seconds longer than normal to answer C, while he reached for the strange accessory. "I can't afford to have any mistakes. Regardless, we are inside--it's only a matter of searching now." And with that, he ventures further into the hallway. The doors are tightly shut, but he knows that those are not the target point. He stops at an intersection.
- N pulls his hand out of his pocket and then nips his fingertip, extracting a small hint of ink before swiftly pulling his finger up and scribling a box with a line dividing it. As soon as he scripted the sign, it immediately began to glow briefly and spawned a small piece of paper. "I'm not a fan of searching, but the least I can do is make the best of our little field-trip.." he whispered, then scripting a fine curve on the paper which soon vanished and began to fold the paper into a small, bird-like origami figure. "Scanning time~"
- G notices the paper bird N has made and rolls his eyes. "N, I hope you know that it isn't /really/ the best time for arts and crafts right now"
- N pulls up his second finger and chuckles. "Suck it, it's called a bird's eye view." And with that, he waves his hand as the paper bird flies off, suddenly liquifying and darting off into the distance. "Now, I'll just be searching around if you don't mind~"
- C glances back and eyes the origami-style bird N crafted. "Oh, you did a nice job with that." Halting near S, C observed the intersection. "Should we split up? Or..." he chuckles, already having recognized S was skilled in providence, "do you already know the way?"
- N: V: *Immediately leaps onto N's shoulder and curls her tail* /Hey, focus. Lets stop, 'right?/
- S: Heh heh... Not at the moment, unfortunately. We'll have to be cautious for now. N and V, you are our scouting unit, once again. G, C, standby for now. We'll soon see where we are lead. /For there are no dead ends in this fate./
- N nods and begins venturing down the hallway. His eyes began to faintly glow just as the liquid heap he sent out materialized into a bird again. The bird itself allowed N to view a different part of the asylum-- as it, of course, had traveled a good amount of distance away from its starting point-- and with a soft whisper, he begins looking around along with V resting on his shoulder. "I'm getting a good idea of what this interior offers for our advantage~ Now it's a matter of finding what we need, and possibly getting some knowledge about Antriquel's architecture."
- C glances around, grimacing at the sterile walls, devoid of most any decoration. "I can't even imagine being detained in this place," he wonders audibly, shifting on his feet. "It must be the most boring place a person could be held in... then again, maybe some of these wackos have friends to talk to in their heads~"
- N scripts another paper and looks at it for a moment. A couple of black lines began to slither around, sketching out each inch of the facility like a map. He smiled, then reducing his speed in order to listen to the cries, moans, and yells of the poor, unfortunate people of the asylum. "Poor men...some might not even deserve to be melded into a world where nobody can hear you....in, well...a deep sense, though."
- G shrugs "It's not that bad, really. Then again I see nothing but code most of the time, so what would I know?"
- S ponders for a bit, before looking back at the duo walking further inside the asylum's depths. He nearly cracks a light, knowing smile at G's comment, but restrains himself. He stops tracing the imaginary length of a line to address G, "Hmm, nevermind. You should rather go with N and V. Let's minimize the margin of error. C, come with me." and with that, he seemingly picks one of the two other corridors branching from the crossing point at random, and beckons for C to follow.
- N: V: /I don't...I don't like it here....it seems unsafe and rather traumatizing.../ *she softly mumurs in a sad tone* /they feel so anxious, so afraid...I can tell../
- C widens his eyes a little, impatient to get moving. "About time. I don't want to stick around this place any longer than I have to." Trailing after S, C glances back at G. "Hey, good luck with your vision! Glasses could work on you, y'know~"
- G lightly rolls 'his' eyes at S, starting to walk down the same hall as N and V "Alright, if it's for 'minimizing the margin of error,' I'll bite. Oh, and I can see just fine"
- N: The map seems to be coming out fine...*pauses for a moment, blinking until he looks at the map again and sees some more directions* If this finishes, I can well enough execute anything in any part of the asylum. Also..*twitches his shoulder for a moment* Could you please get off? You're not so thin, and my shoulder is starting to hurt because of you.
- N: V: *Slaps N with her tail and jumps off, puffing up and shaking before pulling her head up- nose high and everything.* /Hmph, fine. I'll walk...but if you get into trouble, don't count on my help./
- S continues walking forward, despite the darkness which gradually becomes thicker the further they go, but then lessened again by the moonlight filtered through the rather scarce windows. He seems almost out of place, as he carries no visible weapons... the only proof of his mysterious abilities being, of course, the faint line around his left hand.
- G gradually catches up with N and V "So S sent for me to go with you two. He said it would 'minimize the margin of error.' Obviously pointing a finger at one -- or more -- of us."
- C meanders along behind S, considering the slanted beams of succulent moonlight that drafted through the windows. /Only the moon could make this place look-- even slightly-- more appealing./ Deftly, C swung his weapon a little, in the motion of a pendulum, and then pushed it forward right after the apex of a backswing. Ducking his torso and head, he maneuvered the estranged weapon in swift, powerful arcs, expertly shifting his hands and twirling the wooden haft. The thought occurring to him, he straightened up and quickened his pace, walking even with S. "Hey, you have a weapon, right? I haven't seen one on you."
- S gazes rather curiously at the maneuvers and swings C performs, before replying, pace intact, "Technically, yes. Essentially, no. It is... rather difficult to explain, but I will be fine. Heh."
- C: *Yes, it was just a typical night in the asylum. Some patients were screaming, some groaning and weeping, still others attempting to make conversation with their trays of food. No orderly could have guessed that a group of rather eccentric mavericks had soundlessly invaded the inscrutable asylum, and were on a mission to escape with one of their more notable patients. Thus, a duo of unsuspecting staff, of all the orderlies in the mental asylum, drew conspicuously closer to the group consisting of V, G, and N... and one could be sure, they would follow their job description and attempt to detain the unusual squad.*
- G: *A lone figure stumbles through the halls, rambling incoherently to himself about something that even he probably does not understand. He has no method of combing through the hallways, he just does so randomly without paying much attention to where he is. Ahead of him, he hears the sounds of footsteps, not far enough away that running away could even pass his mind. As they approach him, the deranged man freezes, unable to do anything other than mumble.* "g-g-guards! I... I was headING back to my c-cell just n-now, sirs! I-I- Oh, where was my cell again? I don't think I could find my cell. Could y-you escort me back?"
- N: V: /Well welcome aboard...um...thingie...?hehehe!/ *keeps walking close by to N, scanning around the area until she stops* /I feel some heat../
- N stops and hums softly for a moment, seeing the map mark two dabs of ink phasing in and out of existance--he needed to be in range-- as V tells him about the heat. "So it is.." he mused, blinking for a moment as the sight in which the paper bird saw came into view. He saw nothing for a moment, but he began to mentally prod the bird to locate the supposed dabs, those bodies of heat V warned about.
- G stops when he notices that N and V have "So what do you propose we do? I wouldn't be /opposed/ to fighting, especially if it /somehow/ becomes inevitable"
- N: V: /I...I make a terrible fighter../ *shakes her head nervously* /lets not assume we will, shall we?/ *as soon as she makes that statement, she begins to sniff around*
- S freezes almost simultaneously with the wandering man, his red eyes befalling on him. The line coiled protectively around his hand, raised near chest-level as if it was a readied weapon, twitches and vibrates in anticipation. It only takes S a single blink to act. A commanding sort motion of S's hand creates a wave of immaterial power to surge from the mental patient's right, instantly propelling him to the nearest wall. The impact is muffled considerably due to the depth of the wall, but is nevertheless a brutal, headfirst collision. Phantom strands appear and fade in the place the wave began with a certain distortion, but it soon stabilizes. The situation, however, would not. "Someone's got to have heard that. Quick!" he quickly pulls away, turning around to backtrack in a hurried pace. It began.
- G shrugs "fine, we'll take some evasive moves here I guess. *mumbling* that's no fun..."
- G: *As the patient hits the wall, his head making a crunching sound as it smashes against the wall, he breathes heavily, unable to move and quickly dying "P-P-Please..."* *A guard not too far from the incident with S and C hears a muffled bang. No patients should be out in that area right now. Running, he sees the patient, bloody and broken by a wall. Ahead, turning a corner, he sees what seems to be a figure turning a corner. Forgetting about the patient, he runs after whatever it was he saw "Really, I should get a better job..."*
- N nods and responds to G's dissapointment. "We can't attract attention to us, /but/!" for a moment, he remains quiet. The two dots on his map finally appearing definately on there. It only took a moment before the paper bird finally glided to the ground, landing neatly in place. And with a whisper, N nipped on his fingertip and drew a tiny bit of ink. "Standby: Flexible motion." Whispered N, gliding his finger in front of him and scripting a curving line with a circle next to it, which soon vanished. The bird itself laid motionless, but glowed momentarily until...it made a slight clacking noise behind the guards.
- C watched curiously as the leader halted in his tracks. The man, muttering somewhat inanely, who had happened upon them gazed at both of the males before him in a disturbing way. Cautious, C leaned slightly towards S and whispered "Hey, S, would you consider him 'oppo'--" he cut himself off, observing the inexplicable as the unfortunate man was suddenly punted into a wall roughly. "Did you-- ah, wait!" C grumbles, spinning around and following S. /No fighting, yet, then? I hope you know what you're doing, S./
- S ignores C's hesitation, focused now on the figure trailing far behind both. They were being followed. Arriving at the intersection, he quickly heads towards the other, unexplored corridor after a visual check that C was indeed trailing behind him. It wouldn't take too long for the facility to learn about their presence. He reckons stealth is not their strong point.
- G: *The guard following S and C continued running, knowing full well that if there was something there, it had just thrown a man against a wall. While he was sure it was merely his job getting the best of his senses, he figured it would still be best to follow whatever it was he thought he saw. Turning the corner, this time he was sure he saw figures ahead of him. "figures". Taking his flashlight out, he continued running after them "HEY! GET BACK HERE! HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!?" He put a hand on his hip, where a small firearm was holstered. He would be prepared for anything.
- G: What are you planning, N?
- N: Trying to steer them away from our location...or at least...detain them.
- N: V: /N, this is reckless!/
- S 's next actions would be far more reckless, however. Having heard the voice, he simply stops in his tracks, turning his head quickly to catch the faintest glimpse of the guard. And indeed, there is a guard running after them, drawing what appears to be a firearm. S, then, immediately whips around, outstretching his left arm slightly. The set line, drifting almost lazily in their curving patterns, straightens immediately, segmenting itself to launch four differing protrusions in a swiping motion at the man. It seemed almost like an ethereal claw, extending indefinitely to reach its target.
- C: *"I'm pretty sure you can tell where it went from there!" one guard finished his anecdote. The other guard, a female, chuckled lightly. "Yeah, I know how that goes." Both sighed a little. The male guard flustered a little, glancing over at his attractive co-worker. When you spend the day around psychotic nutjobs, you get to appreciate the more authoritative, disciplined women. Especially when you never saw them pulling their own hair out. He had planned on asking her, and tonight, he convinced himself, was as good a night as any. Right as he had mustered up the courage to ask her on a date, his whole delicate thought process was interrupted. "Did you hear that?" questioned the female guard, turning around. She instinctively drew her firearm and pointed at the glowing origami bird. As for the man, he noticed that it was an entirely inappropriate time to ask if she was free tomorrow, and so joined his fellow orderly in threatening the luminous object.
- N whispers "She isn't too bad looking either, oh well.." his voice rang with some degree of amusement. With a wave of his finger, he commanded the bird to cease it's glowing hue. However, it clacked again-- twice-- and then it phased out of existance, then appearing closer to the duo guards.
- N: V: /What...are you doing..? Who are you talking about?/ *She questioned with confusion, only to have her ears twitch slightly upon hearing a slight bang, a vibration. She waved her tail in anticipation and looked at G.* /I think we should get moving, we can't be sitting ducks now can we../
- G: *Seeing the lines in the shape of a claw extending towards him, the guard drew his firearm, fear alight on his face. He shot off seceral rounds, seeming completely in futility -- the lines seemed to be not affected whatsoever, the explosions of gunshots and ricochets of bullets resounding through the halls. It was impossible to tell if he had hit it or not. He began to run back to where he came from, putting his gun in its holster, he took out a hand radio "Back up requested in Sector-- Sector 8! Dangerous intr-" he was cut off, mostly literally, as he could not run faster than the lines streaming towards him. Several guards around the complex, hearing the call and the gunshots, came running to sector 8. Footsteps could be heard through the halls, obviously running*
- K: *Elsewhere in the asylum, a young man is woken up rather abruptly by the sudden gunshot. He sits up straight on the single battered mattress these people called a bed and scans his cell with amber-gold eyes. His gaze flicked out towards the grated window, then back to his cell door. It was most likely a "resident" becoming rowdy... but no, something felt off this time... Deciding he couldn't do anything about it anyway, the man somewhat reluctantly lies back down.* /Even if sleep eludes me the rest of the night.../
- C mutters, "Oh? Finally, some opposition? I was beginning to think there was a staff meeting somewhere." In the dim light, C clearly saw the guard that had been pursuing them get assailed by slim ribbons, which seemed to issue from S. "Ah. So /that's/ how you fight," C observes. Having caught sound of the guard's urgent alert, C whirls his weapon around his body again with trained movements. "At the risk of sounding homicidal, I would say a little blood would make these walls less bleak."
- G nods "I guess you're right. Let's get go- Gunshots! S and C were probably discovered. /That/ gives me reason to run, more than the those guards you see. There'll be guards /everywhere/ now."
- N grunts and snaps, causing the paper bird to unfold itself and be "sucked in" in a sense of space/time to then appear in a liquid form on N's map. He glances at V and then at G and then retracts the ink into his fingertips. "To hell-- I wonder who triggered that." N folded his map neatly and began to speed walk away, warily tapping the handle of his whip strapped on his belt. "At least I got a good look and sketch of them mentally. Their equipment and everything. I could possibly duplicate them or what they had if I can collect more fluids around here."
- S steps back, detaching the lines that had just completely pierced through the guard. He slumps to the unforgiving ground, dead, now that the bladed strings dissipate into nothingness. The unconnected ends still remaining over S's hand lash out wildly at nothing, but their range is far too short to do anything. He curls his palm into a fist for a second, allowing them to regain firmness and connect with themselves. He whips around again, "Yeah yeah, no time for this now, C. We have to find the subject and get the hell out of here." his words, too, are firm. Without further ado, he breaks into a dash.
- N: V: /Stop playing painter and lets /move it/ PLEASE!/ *Growling, her ears twitch slightly upon hearing the comotion nearby. Its only a matter of time before more guards come around*
- C scoffs and twirls around, chasing after S. "And here I had thought you knew everything in advance; things have been so seamless until now." C pauses, staring ahead for a moment while running. "Any idea where we are to find our objective?"
- S keeps up his pace, turning around at another intersection--purposely avoiding the apparent lobbies and larger areas. "Hmpt. If I did, you would not be here in the first place," he allows himself to joke, scanning his surroundings. Doors, windows, walls; doors, windows, walls. He gives a sharp sigh, "I don't know. I don't suspect he's in this ward though. I've yet to see /something/ to know we're on the right track."
- G: *A troop of about a half dozen guards come running into the area where S and C were, looking around. One of them sees motion in the corner of his eye. "This way," he says to the rest, beginning to run with the others following them. Drawing their guns, they prepare for conflict with the intruders, one of them breaking, and firing off an off-target round due to adrenaline.*
- G follows behind N and V, "We need to figure out a good way to /find/ our target. We can't just keep on wandering around hoping to get lucky, especially with hordes of guards no doubt coming. Can you do anything about /that/ part, N?"
- N hears another gunshot and looks back. "Well G, I have /no/ clue who our target is, but.." he snaps, turning the blot of ink on his map into a black key. "I have a general key I've script copied and maybe we can gain access to the place where our target is. "
- S stops, narrowing his eyes as the group of armed guards arrives before they manage to reach another intersection. Having effectively blocked the route, S simply stands there, the lines around his hand stiffening instantly, as if reacting with the Line Walker himself. He glances at C for a second before a drunken shot impacts the wall next to him, "Guess you can begin redesigning the walls now."
- N stops for a moment and looks at V. "Maybe you can help us find our target-- I mean, S is interested in it, right? With that in mind, I'm sure that our target has something that seperates them from the general asylum public."
- N: V: *stops and tilts her head* /M-Me?!/
- G sighs "Well, trial and error it is then. Maybe you can send a message to S or something. Even looking for "something different" we can't just go around opening random doors of... patients."
- N: V has the ability to sense emotions of multiple beings all at once and sort them out to know who's who. I'm sure that our target, somehow, might have a distinct emotional pattern if i'm correct
- N: V: *tenses up* /T-True...but all I sense is distressed, unstable emotions from everywhere...I can't just- I don't know!/
- G: *The lead guard heard the comment the one intruder had made. Gulping, he said in a half-bravado, "fire at will!" immediately, the noise of gunshots and ricochets filled the halls. Most of the men were too scared to fire with any accuracy, but they fired nonetheless.
- G: Well, hurry that up then. Things are starting to get intense. We can't dilly-dally around any longer.
- N: V: *Wimpers and sits upright. Her ears twitched slightly, sensing the emotions of every being within her range. As she expected, she only felt the solitude, the desperation, the utter annoyance of many of the asylum captives. Her tail waved around for a moment, then she peeped and began to run off-- she wanted to feel more in order to reach her goal*
- C lets out a rueful sigh, slipping into a flowing stance while the spontaneous guards organize themselves. "Come to think of it, a nice, mellow green would look better on these walls... Oh well. I guess it can't be helped." Taking a deep breath, C relaxes into a wider stance, slowly revolving his grip on the vibrant weapon he wields. Even as he heard gunshot, he stayed perfectly still for just one moment. Even the air around him seemed to inhale with a calming aura. "Eclipse!" C suddenly gasps, flickering forward in an untraceable motion. The flat, sharp blades arrayed aesthetically on the end of his weapon slashed cleanly through several guards at once, leaving only C standing, eyeing the remaining guards while adopting another position.
- N nods. "Looks like shes actually gonna do it, lets go." he mutters, then running off after V with his hand firmly gripped on the handle of his whip
- S closes his eyes, concentration diverged onto something else. With the repeated bangs echoing through the nightly halls, the poorly-aimed cascade of bullets begins riddling the walls with holes, but the invisible curtain eventually reaches S. His form is instantly pierced by the metallic projectiles, but an illusionary blur reveals him to be nothing but strands that quickly disperse and detach from a whole--an endless web unable to be seen by mortals. Several few remain, which are quickly launched at the remaining guards as soaring blades while S, standing from a new position yet to be completely stabilized of a fading distortion, readies himself again should it be necessary.
- G: *The two remaining guards for a moment looked at their fallen comrades with expressions that showed nothing but fear. These guards were no longer in "fight" mode, they were now fully in "flight" mode. Loosing a few more unaimed gunshots in what may have been an attempt to distract, they ran off, leaving the crumpled bodies of their fellow guards. Whatever these intruders came for, they could have it as far as these guards were concerned. One of them took out a hand radio. "Intruders are top level threats! I repeat, top level threats. They seem to have access to mag--" That was it. The remaining guards were killed off by S's strange attack, and couldnever have seen it coming.
- G quickly follows behind N and V. "Hopefully this works."
- N: V: *stops at a corner and jerks her head to and fro, side to side. Her ears picked up the sounds of conflict melded in with the yells and groans of the poor, enclosed residents. However, as her entire being began to sense more "stable" emotions, she lifted up a paw and then began running once more* /I got a little something, its a hunch but i-it might work!/
- S watches as the last few are immediately felled by his counterattack, but he remains completely alert. "I don't think I am in the mood to declare my own attacks, thank you." he remarks rather acidly at C, before flickering out of existence in a blink--the spot he once occupied emitting a short spatial distortion--a glimpse of an silvery line trailing instantly to an undetermined position near the fallen men, where he reappears nigh-instantly. His red eyes rather coldly scan the corpses for anything relevant to his goal, though it is obvious he does not have much time. Other guards would be quick to arrive.
- N looks at V and nods, then looks at G. "You heard her, lets get moving before we get ourselves into trouble." He said softly, then running after V with his map-- glowing with a dark hue.
- G follows close behind N "Yeah, yeah, I heard you."
- C relaxes his precision stance and glances at S. "But aren't Eclipses beautiful?" C watches S for a second as the leader took in the sight of the corpses. "You did pretty well," C comments, impressed by the swift counter-attack that had taken out the last two guards, which he had witnessed through focused eyes.
- S 's cursory glance reveals nothing noteworthy, but he decides to keep one of the handguns for unknown reasons. He turns to C, motions him to follow, and quickly proceeds down the hallway. His eyes continue darting around even in the extremely dull interior of the asylum, analyzing details that do not seem to exist in first place...
- N: V: *Immediately stops by a door and claws at the door. It sounded like someone was yelling out a phone number over and over and getting stuck on the number 23, but it didn't seem like their target* /This would be a lot easier without all these people../
- N blinks and looks back, glancing at a storage room as he then finds himself walking towards it. "Huh...perhaps S wouldn't mind a bit of slack.." whispered N. Immediately, N swirled his finger around the map and spawned a key, then using it to open the door and take a peek inside.
- G rolls eyes as he sees N going to the storage closet "What could possibly be in there you might want?"
- N comes out with an asylum map, a phonebook containing numbers of the many offices the asylum, two bottles of water, and a directory. "Oh, I didn't hear you over the sound of success."
- N: V: *growls slightly* /Well.../
- N: V: /Aside from the obvious water, what is it that you got there?/
- G sighs as he sees N come out "Well how was I supposed to know that kind of stuff would be in there?"
- N nods. "You're the omnipresent techthing, couldn't you digitize things or something and figure out? And honestly.." he chuckles softly and carefully tucks the bottles in his pockets, hefting up the directory and phonebook. "I only came here for the water. I was thirsty."
- N: V: ...*Runs over to N and bites his shoelace and tugs on it.* /Ugh you damn airhead!/
- N steps back and shakes V away. "H-Hey!" N then quickly opens up the asylum map and the nips his finger, drawing a fine line through the map, whispering while the ink began to glow its hue of midnight shade "Linefire, heat index, ink perceptual location." He snaps, seeing the ink cause the fine line N drew to 'pop' with a brief puff of fire. Then with a smile, he looks down on the map and directs his violet gaze at two dots within the map. "Heh, G...I know that. I just like easing up the mood with a little joking here and there. As for this...I should at least send S a map or the directory if he wants to find the target a little easier."
- C follows S, going at his own pace. Instead of watching and trying to figure out the enigma that had suddenly swooped in and changed his life-- S-- C lightly swings his weapon back and forth, analyzing the blood on the dahlia blades. /Haven't had to kill someone in a while/ C muses without flavor. /So here's that feeling of a void again... what loss have I inflicted?/ Noticing the vapid setting, though, and the promise of a greater purpose, C makes a gesture to reconcile with his conscience. A slight optimistic-- placed by the lunatic inside-- wondered /Funerals can be poignant as well./
- G looks to N as he mentions the joke "Right. Anyway, didn't S himself mention that he didn't know the exact layout of the Asylum? He probably wouldn't have had us split up if he did. The map and directory wouldn't hurt him."
- S smiles confidently to himself, decelerating as he turns around another corner, as if he knows what's beyond--the monotonous marching of the desperate guards is all but a background noise alerting the group of an invisible timer now--and indeed, he knew. "/I/ personally won't need the map, but we'll need it for when it's time to depart. Trace a viable route for us all, N, I know where the subject is." a faint streak of red crosses his eyes' own, but its only for a mere instant, "V, track the guards' movements. C, G, cover the rest, attack at will. Any questions?"
- N blinks. "Right...right away, man. I'll imprint an escape route with some special ink visible to us when I find a way. "
- N takes out a bottle and dips a finger in it. As if by a freaky curse of sorts, the water began to get sucked into the tip of his finger. "In order to highlight a generally large path, i need a bit of liquid." Turning the bottle upside down, his finger continued to take in the water. A small, sharp claw-like bone consuming the water slowly."--Knew that a drink would do. V-" he directed his attention to the fire ferret. "Any bodies coming around? Movement?"
- N: V: *nods* /There is some, but a bit far from where we are right now. I'm not saying that we have a better chance of staying in one place and not being found, but I'm guesing that the guards on duty here scan the entire asylum area by area.Wing by wing./
- C grins a little as the whole group is reunited. "Understood," C replies to S, his tone more easy now. C didn't know much about any of these people, but he knew they were part of this new stanza in his life-- and an interesting melody they played altogether.
- S nods lightly, "Very well. Follow me!" he turns around, waits for approximately a full two seconds, then proceeds, though not at a full dash--aware of the nature of V's and N's powers--and instead paces further ahead into the concrete labyrinth he seemed to have deciphered, through not doing particularly anything, at a certain level. He motions for the group to follow, their formation of roles already set. /Just further ahead. Nothing in my way./
- N begins walking down the hallway, keeping tabs with V while she waves her tail around and tracks the movements of the guards. "Looks like there may be..." N pulls out his own makeshift map-- the one outlining the outside of the concrete fortress. "Ah-- okay, one possible exit is through an electric generator room a bit far off from here, but it could prove to be useful."
- N: V: *Twitches an ear*/ come again? Theres a room for that? How'd you figure that?/
- N looks at both maps before putting one away and pulling out the directory. "Well, there was quite an unusual indent on the exterior of the building..." N then yawns and puts back the directory after taking a good look. "This room for the generator is located-- hold on, give me a moment...um...there we go! There!" He points. "Aside from these generators, there is a gated path within the room-- followed by some stairs leading down-- which leads us to the bowels of the asylum. This place...if I'm correct when it comes to local government facilities, leads directly to the courtyard in a little secluded building. Maybe."
- N: V: ...*sticks tongue out* /...how about we use the front door and blow it up?/ *giving a nod, she hops onto N's shoulder* /Good exit there! We can make it ourselves./
- G blinks as he hears N "Even if those generators mess me up, the 'maybe' for the other one makes me NOT want to take that one."
- N hums for a moment. "M'yeah...you got a point about those generators....perhaps we can find a way to disable it..?"
- S remains slightly ahead of the group, but seems to be keeping his surroundings in check. "Or maybe," he interjects, "We could simply do the inverse to our appearance act."
- N: Well, S...remaining within the building after a breach would make it rather difficult to do that again, no? If we leave to a part of the property where the guards will take quite a long time to go to, we'd be fine
- N: V: *peeps* /Eek! Guys...guys guys guys guys guys.../ *Suddenly, V begins to anxiously look around and twitch her ears* /I feel bodies of heat moving in./
- S glances at N, "Given sufficient misdirection, G's powers will make us look like we didn't even exist--" he looks forward again, "--Though that can wait."
- N stops slightly and turns to V. "Well, as you wish sir." and with that, he puts away his items-- more or so stuffing them into his pockets-- and nods. "Lets move out, guys. I don't want these bodies raining on our parade."
- C grimaces inwardly at the vulgar expression N used-- if he had ever heard a less eloquent sentence... "Could you make it sound any *more* crude, N?"
- G nods at V after she says she sensed some bodies, preparing for an oncoming fight "Right"
- N gives off a slight chuckle as he begins to move forward. "Making things sound rather sugary and candy-like isn't my thing, C. You should know by now~"
- K: ???: You really should be more quiet when you trespass somewhere.
- K: *Immediately after this voice sounds, a group of nearly a dozen guards rounds a nearby corner, blocking progress. Behind them stands a man, wearing a different uniform than that of the guards- more elaborate, obviously higher ranking. He crosses his arms and looks at the group sternly.* "No use in resisting, we not only have you outnumbered but we are surrounding you as well. Can't have a group of dangerous intruders running around, can we?"
- C scoffs as a large group of guards appears. The grip on his weapon shifts to display readiness as his fingers detach three gold rings from his outfit. "No use? You're sure; none at all?" C calls back to the apparent superior among them, tossing the rings haplessly into the air. They stay floating, and even begin expanding as C smirks at the tough, confident man. "You yourself just called us dangerous. We should put up a fight that attests to that claim~" As C begins lightly, shamelessly twirling his weapon around, blades sluicing through the air, the rings glow purple and suddenly pulse forward, each leaving a faint magenta trail. Every ring starts moving in an arranged fashion around the others, and the trailing magenta lasers vacillate until a connection is forged with the other two rings. "This is a quality versus quantity situation, I assure you!" C declares confidently.
- G walks forward through the group so as to be better seen by the guards "He's right. Each of us is easily worth a dozen of you, and that's giving a lenient statistically advantage to the likes of you. I'd offer you the chance to flee and all, but quite frankly, I'm bored." With that, G held out an arm, where a thin line of air became garbled up in a mass of strange shapes and colors, connecting with one of the guards. As it touched the man, if he moved his body, it would turn to a similar appearance to the air connecting the GREPTHU and the guard. Then, the line was gone, but the man's body became more grotesquely disfigured, causing him to collapse immediately, both out of pain and surprise. "So that's what happens when an organic substance becomes glitched. Fascinating!"
- S maintains his position, seemingly with no intention to move from there as the guards rapidly surround the six. "Is it a standard of yours to sound unsettlingly flowery?" he questions rhetorically towards C, though his attention is fully focused on the guards blocking the way they were supposed to continue through, with their apparent superior among them. He reaches slightly to his side, as if ready to pull again one of the illusory strings of his, but appears to hesitate and stop, the hand instead reaching to grasp the newly-acquired handgun's barrel. The hollow cavity appears to glow with an unearthly blue-teal hue for a moment before definitely fading away. He takes aim. "Nevertheless..."
- N narrows his eyes and maintains his current position, only shifting his gaze towards the man and his fleet in silence. His rapid hand already reached down toward his whip's handle while the other one was held out slightly near N's body. A single drop of ink began to run down the finger and to the floor, a simple yet unusual smirk broke as he nodded and looked away after his team's attacks have been made. "Well now!"
- K: *The superior of the guards watches unflinchingly as one of the team is taken down with relative ease. The other nine immediately draw their handguns and take aim at the smaller group, while the superior simply replies, "Magic users or not, it's my job to maintain the security of this place." He narrows his eyes. "I don't know how you got in, but you're not getting back out."*
- N glances at V and pulls out the whip. The shiny tip located at the ending of the whip hit down with a rather loud clad. And with a smile, an indirect method of communication, N lifted it up slightly. V soon nodded and puffed a ball of fire on the metallic end, causing it to shift once the fire vanished into thin air. "Of course we're getting back out. I don't know if you're well informed but...there /are/ exits located around the vicinity. Just sayi-" Cutting off with a blur, the whip cracked into the air loudly and suddenly gripped onto a guard's leg. N composed his expression to neutral and immediately began to scan the guard he caught in a slow sense. Time stopped, the poor guard himself struggled to keep his footing and began to lean. N's eyes rapidly shifted to and fro, point to point, limb to limb slowly until time set itself into motion again. A swift yank to the right with the handle allowing the whip to propell the guard towards the others, slip out of it's grip on the guard's leg, and ultimately slice deeply into the guard's leg with it's metallic blade that V manipulated the metal into. The leg simply...fell to the floor with a thud.
- S quickly moves to the side and towards the wall, allowing the main attackers--C and G--to have more area of action while not undermining his own. He says no more as he takes precisely points his weapon at one of the nine other foes before pulling the trigger multiple times. There are no audible gunshots; they are instead replaced by an energetic, muffled noise from within the barrel as orbs are immediately fired towards the guard. They sizzle with power, spheres distorted by the speed of the projectiles themselves, cores shining brightly with white yet not producing equaling illumination, visible edges progressively tinted with an teal, magical aura. The shots spread out slightly due to S's careful aim, so as to minimize the possibilities of evasion. Like ethereal wisps, they disappear in puffs of a similarly-colored essence upon contact, seemingly damaging more than the poor guy's body itself...
- C rushes forward spryly at the barrier of enemies, the triage of gold rings turning and revolving in a blur of purple. With a motion as if he were pulling a cord, the magenta orbit slips around him as he dashes. He was on the right-hand flank of the enemy before most anyone knew it, the dahlia blade curving swiftly and delicately. Two guards are caught in the wide cleave, and a third guard makes contact with the magenta circle-- plentiful and fine cuts cycle over and over in a pattern, incising into his body. C spins around to face the startled man, arcing his pink weapon along his gaze and cleanly severing his neck. Sparing a moment of combat, C replies to the superior, "That almost sounds like you're coercing us into becoming patients. Could you have said anything more pointless? We're obviously more advanced than you."
- G chuckled as his allies also began to attack these pitiful excuses of enemies. Holding out both of his arms, G once again caused those thin lines of glitched air, catching two of the other guards. Quickly, their forms began to convolute into the indistinguishable mass of glitched lifeforms. They lasted longer than the first one to suffer this fate, but soon collapsed. "Tut, tut. You should /really/ order your men to attack such strong enemies right away. This is a massacre if I ever saw one. I /almost/ feel bad for us having to destroy you like this. In fact, I might have felt bad if I hadn't been so bored beforehand. Oh wait, I wouldn't feel bad even then. Sorry."
- K: *The superior remains firm, as if the deaths of his men didn't even phase him. Perhaps they didn't. The last two guards looked nervously at their commander, who seemed to be looking at this highly dangerous group before him. And then he smirked. Crisp clicking- guns being cocked- sounded behind the group- seven more guards had arrived. "I did say we were surrounding you. Fire at will!"*
- G raised a hand behind him as he heard the announcement of surrounding enemies. Even as the sounds of gunshots filled the halls, the air between the group and the guards behind them garbled up incoherently. When the bullets entered this air... they didn't come out the other side. "Oh dear, I seem to have stopped your bullets. All it requires is making a 'no-motion zone' in the air. I could go technical with this, but I wouldn't want to bore you or anything. Oh, I can also do this." With that, suddenly, the bullets exited the glitched air. Only they came out directly from the direction they came, still facing the group, and heading straight for where they were fired from. "All it takes is reversing the velocity. You would never imagine what's possible with just coding."
- S flickers out of view the moment he hears the guns clicking to fire at the group. While he is confident the others would handle the bullets in their own ways, this triggered an immediate reminder he is, after all, human, and receiving a bullet to the head would not be exactly friendly for his own life. A silvery trail lasting an instant connected his previous position to a new one in the opposite wall, where he reappeared with as much visual notice that someone blinking would have seen him simply switch places. /Transposition Line./ his thought was accompanied by the clicks of his own gun, which still seemed to behave anomalously, by firing orbs of magical nature which collectively collide and sear one of the two remaining guards at the front end of the hallway. His hand slips out of the bottom of the handgun's handle to perform a subtle motion which sends--no, /reveals/ a very faint string that seems to go indefinitely forward, and towards whatever laid behind the darkness of the hallway.
- C grunts in annoyance as a whole other squadron enters from the opposite direction. /Everyone else will have to take care of them. There's still enemies over here... besides, I'll be the one to eliminate such a provincial man as this one is!/ Slipping forward, C leans low and rises up with a crescent twirl of his weapon. Another guard fell. With a blink, C looks up and notices the remaining footsoldier orderly aiming at him with their firearm. With a flick his fingers, the magenta system slides forward and cinches, closing around the barrel of the gun and slicing the metal object clean apart. The guard himself is suddenly felled by a mysterious salvo, courtesy of S. Turning to face the last adversary nearby, C glares at the superior. "Such an inarticulate person will be dealt with by me!"
- K: *In the unfolding scene, the superior to the guards watches as the group picks off each guard one by one. Narrowing his eyes a bit, the man retreats behind a corner to stay out of the lines of fire, while still watching the battle. "What is it that they want..." He mutters questioningly, for the first time stopping to wonder why the intruders were there in the first place. The guards continue to valiantly follow their orders to fire, like soldier ants fighting against a dragonfly. The superior sighs at the futility of it and gets ready to escape himself, if need be.*
- N almost blinked upon hearing the gunshots, those echoing bangs from a barrel escaping with a small plume of gunpowder to fill the air. N's enhanced vision made it seem as though the silver bullets themselves were shooting off in slow motion. He turned his gaze slightly to the left, then to the right, catching a glimpse of V as the poor fire ferret slow-motionly leaped and released a plume of pure-red fire. But now was the time to act. N's violet eyes glowed a dim hue while the targets-- the enemy guards-- came into his attention. Unnoticable phantom strokes began to rapidly paint over the guns and the hands holding them on two guards, N's own hand rapidly swishing up and down while the other one swooped to the right. Immediately with that right swoop in real-time, the whip he was holding slashed away any bullets going at him while the slashes made from his other hand caused the creation of black-ink blades to appear and slice off the hands of those two guards shooting right at him
- C scowls as he spots the superior escaping behind a corner. "What was all that talk before? Must have just been overconfident bluster from a complacent man!" C rants at the retreating figure. Amid the sudden cracks of gunshot, C starts forward, ordering the scathing magenta orbit behind him, as well as folding his arm backwards and protecting his unwary back with the wide array of blades on his weapon. Both actions were countermeasures against any bullet that could spontaneously seek him out. Most of the lunatic's attention was on the travesty of a man he was pursuing, after all.
- S hears the rather paradoxical clicking of his own gun, and proceeds to reload the weapon--but ends up retrieving the empty magazine in midair instead of fully discarding it. "Do not linger!" he urges the group of G, N and V that has fallen back to fight the other new squadron of guards, "Wasting time is /not/ an option!" And with that, he continues forward himself, following C's skillful advancing movements with his eyes. The magazine in his hand seems to glow, exactly like the handgun's barrel once did, and S simply returns with to the hollow cavity in its grip with a satisfactory click. Whereas a glimpse of movement somewhere ahead tells him that the superior has rounded a corner (immediately confirmed by C's extremely noticeable form approaching), he knows that his own target lays further ahead. And so, he continues forward.
- G follows behind S "Right."
- K: *Immediately after coming face-to-face with the superior, C would find himself staring down the barrel of a handgun. The superior's eyes are narrowed, and he looks tense, but with a sort of satisfaction that comes from holding someone's life in their hands. "I could kill you right now, but I doubt your friends would like that very much," He mutters to C. "So, to spare both of our lives, I suppose you'd be willing to negotiate a stalemate here, no?"*
- N puts out his hand and allows V to climb up to his shoulder. The crack of N's whip lashed out into the air, practically slicing it as a warning sign to any guard who wished to continue the assult. Wordlessly, N follows S along with V positioned-- ready and already sensing the heat movements of anyone around.
- C inhales sharply as he rounds the corner and gazes right into the foreboding, dooming maw of a gun. Looking past the black tunnel, he leers at the smug superior. C's arm tenses, ready to whip forward and cut the crude man down to size. Hearing the tough guard's proposal, however, a doubt enters C's mind. /Is the swing of my arm faster than the pull of his finger? There's no guarantee he'd even die if I scored my hit first.../ "I don't make a habit of making agreements with people who have no beauty," C replies quickly, knowing that he had to answer quickly before any of his allies arrived. "But being killed by a bullet is less enticing than negotiating with the rabble. I'll let you go if you order your guards off and let us on our way. We're only looking for one guy, and then we'll happily leave this wretched place, no more lives lost... if you agree, start running for your simple life. You have my word I won't pursue you."
- K: *The superior watches C for a moment. Neither is really in the position to dispute terms, and so the superior snorted, grinning. "Very well, then." He drew out a small radio. "All guards stand by. No further pursuit of the intruders." As the remaining guards lowered their weapons, confused, and looked around at the dead, the superior slipped the radio back into his pocket. "I suggest you move along now," He said dryly to C. "Just do what you came to do and get out of my asylum."*
- C snorts in a condescending manner. "Gladly. This place is bleak anyway." Slowly, waryof the gun still pointed at him, C stretches his foot backwards and eases in the opposite direction. He spins around the corner and strides back down the hallway that's received a red paint job, approaching S. Aiming to make it sound impressive, C reports, "On behalf of our side, I negotiated with that pitiful man and won us temporary immunity. Let's find our objective and get out of this horrid asylum, eh? Where next?"
- S stops as he sees C suddenly approach again, listening to him. "Temporary immunity?" he repeats rather questioningly. He resumes his pace--accelerating it, in fact--as he continues, "Right. We're nearly done. I see our objective." And with that, the six once again collectively move forward, with S making turns and adjustments to the yet-to-be-seen course as he deems necessary. Blue orbs fired from his systematically-altered gun blast into the openings of new structural branches, taking the role of warning shots that are bound to deter further squadrons of guards who find themselves traversing through them in order to reach the group. Opposition, otherwise, seems nonexistent... C was right, after all. To those who still happen to be looking at the map N was tracing everything with, they would find that S is rather illogically heading towards a dead end, but nearing the boundaries of the higher-security ward of the asylum, nevertheless. Eventually, S turns once more. The dull, repetitive web of hallways seems to abruptly end in one final stretch lined with reinforced doors, which seem to be identical save for distinct states of disrepair, with a definite wall marking a clear stop for the route. With a certain sense of accomplishment palpable in his voice, S states, "We are here. Remain alert."
- G shrugs "Good, we're almost done here then."
- N glances at S for a moment and then sticks his gaze back at the map. "Are we going to need keys? I sort of traced a copy of a guard key a couple of moments ago."
- C looks around in a supercilious way, noticing the change in the layout of this part of the asylum. /'Here' is the end of the line. S really better know what he's doing. And this guy we came all this way for better be worth all this effort./ Groaning, C mutters wearily "And there really better not be more guns..."
- S smiles confidently, "We won't need keys, I assure you." He then begins walking forward, ignoring all the doors until he reaches the end of the hallway, only stopping approximately a meter from the impeding wall. Which does not seem to be an obstacle for S, of course. "Step back, I would rather not have you acquainted with friendly fire," he warns. Several lines surge into existence from points of distortion around S's form, aimed straight at said wall, connecting somewhat singularly in the middle. "...Literally." A snap of his fingers. /Ignition Line./ The strands blaze with a power that is poured forth from virtually nowhere, trailing rapidly from their unseen sources towards the monotonous concrete... flickering as if it were some sort of plasmatic fire. The effect caused by contact is immediate. The part of the structure simply bursts into flames, which consume the material instantly as if it was mere paper. The flames seem to burn the very concept of space, for even the air is distorted even when the anomaly presents an absolute lack of heat influx. The opening created progressively expands into a gaping hole, large enough for them to fit through, revealing... a holding cell.
- K looks up, startled, and immediately gets to his feet, backing up against the wall. Showing fear at first, K immediately becomes defensive and narrows his aureate eyes, tensing up and glaroing through the hole at the group. His red-streaked black hair slightly obscures his glare, but one could see the tinge of panic setting in. And it wasn't just him. As he snaps, "Get back!" in a frightened yet hostile tone, the very atmosphere seems more tense, eliciting a feeling of anxiety.
- N shurgs and steps back. "Eh, suit yourself. I'm keeping a sketch of that key in the repository notebook just for future referrence."
- C steps forward and peers through the hole. The dim light reveals a nervous man taking a cautious stance against the far wall. "I think you scared him, S," C observes nonchalantly. The lunatic feels a prickling sensation along his skin and glances behind him, feeling as if more guards were suddenly encoraching on them. "Yeah, well, let's mellow this guy down and get out of here. I mean, like I said; temporary immunity..." /Besides... I want to get back under my blessed moonlight.../
- G is hit by the suddenly tense atmosphere as K goes on the defensive. "Hey kid, we're busting you out, here!" he yells into the cell without going in, instead feeling that S would better handle /that/ part. Though he half wondered if S's showy explosion was necessary. He shrugged, as honestly, he didn't really care...
- S walks forward and inside the cell, suppressing the spikes of danger his subconscious suddenly decided to give him. Or rather, been forced into doing so. "How observant, C. Our subject was bound to react like that." he replies dryly, directing his attention to the frightened individual desperately backing against the opposite wall. "Or should I say, K." Red eyes piercing golden ones in a moment of eye contact, S continues, "Your confinement shall be no more now. I won't oppose you, if you don't oppose me. Does that seem like a favorable offer to you, along with your own freedom?"
- K relaxes somewhat, though still regarding S and the others warily. The tense atmosphere fades slightly, yet is still present as K asks, "Who are you? How do you know my--" He stops there, remembering vaguely that K wasn't his real name. It may has well have been, though... He glances around, like a cornered animal, but silently and shakily nods. /Anything to get out of here.../
- S simply smirks enigmatically, choosing to not answer K's self-interrupted question. "Relax. We are known as The Algorithm. Your abilities--which you are not even aware of--have been of interest to me for--" this time, it's S's turn to glance around quickly, though his attention seems to have been diverged at an undefined point in space for an instant, "...quite some time by now. I don't think this is the time to give you all the details, however... N, G, could you get us out?"
- N pulls out the map he made and looks at it for a moment. After listening and analyzing K and S's conversation, he looks back up after placing a finger on the map and nods. "Well, best way out is down the hall, to the left. There should be a deskroom nearby where the wall lies between this asylum and the outside world."
- N: V: *Tilts her head at K for a moment and then looks down at the map. She nods and growls out softly and casually as if she were trying to vouch for N's finding*
- G nods "Alright, I guess I'll deal with that wall."
- N nods to G's statement and reaches up to pet V slightly. "She doesn't want to speak at the moment due to the fact that shes feeling a little ill, but she agrees that we should get out of here quickly with our little friend--" he glances at K "Whom looks like he needs to get out of here in the first place too. Poor thing.."
- S glances at G and N, "Get going, then. I personally don't want risk the temporary immunity." he turns towards K one more time, "You should get going as well. Unless you want to remain here. Heh. This is quite possibly the only chance you will have."
- K looks at S in mild confusion, seeming to relax a bit more as the atmosphere lowers in tension again. He then looks at the group as they apparently get ready to leave. "Go...? Go where? With them?" There is a heartbeat of silence before K raises another pair of questions. "Why are you freeing me? What abilities are you talking about?"
- N crumples the map in his hands, reducing it into a handful of ink which makes its way into N's strange fingertips. "Very well now~" Turning on his heel, he exits through the "entrance" S made and turns to his right. "Its this way. It shouldn't be far off." N waves his hand, then begins to walk off down the hall.
- G follows behind N. "It's always when someone says something like that that something bad happens..." he mutters.
- C grumbles in relief as most of the group starts moving again-- and towards an exit this time. Finally. /I'm never coming back to a place like this again. That K person really would have to be insane if he doesn't come with us./ Heaving a sigh, C follows N and G down the corridor, glancing back over his shoulder at the cell they had broken into. /Can't imagine having to live in this place, behind these homely cells, being forced to adhere to routine... I'm going to have nightmares about this disgusting place for weeks./ "We're through with asylums, right, S?" C calls back, frowning at the blood on his weapon.
- S chuckles slightly, "There will be time for questions later, K. As for now, the objective is to get to base safely. In our own ways, of course." After gesturing for K to follow, he turns to follow the rest of the group. He can feel the induced tension lessening considerably... and he figures that, in time, K will learn to control his innate power. But there is something lingering, beyond the veil of subconscious alert, that he quite can't decipher. While it puzzles him, S decides to not to overthink it and instead answers C with a barely-audible sigh, "Yes, I suppose we are."
- K trails behind S, looking at the man silently, but with a seemingly infinite resevoir of questions in his amber eyes. Wondering how these people knew him, why they wanted him, wondering what this "base" was...
- N sighs in slight relief but remains composed. Neither regret or enjoyment appeared in his face. But, being within the confinement of the asylum made him wonder for a while. N shook his head and stopped, turning to his right again and pointing to what seemed to be a dead end. However, one could see that the hallways only allowed someone to walk to their left upon reaching the end. He smiles. "To the left should be the deskroom. Right in front of us is the wall which leads outdoors." N said rather casually.
- G follows behind N as he leads to the room that he said would be good to escape from. When they arrived, G went up to the wall that N had pointed out, and put his hand on it. The wall next to his hand became a seething mass of colors and shapes, no part being able to be distinguished. This time, he would not need to analyze it as much, so sooner than before, the indentation appeared at about chest level, deepening like a simulation of a gravity well. It lengthened to become a little taller than an average person and just wide enough to allow a single file of people through. Then, the indent deepened until it reached the other side, the visage of the decaying city looming outside. Taking his hand off, the strange thing that the wall had become had returned to being a wall, though with occasional flashes of the glitchiness coming into view. Stepping into it, G looked back "Here we go. We finally get to go out of here. Come on then."
- <INSERT OMITTED S POST BECAUSE CHATZY IS STUPID>
- N glances at V and presses his lips together rather nervously. The method in which G used to grant an opening for the group was unorthedox. Never has N acknowledged the importance or workings of technology. However, an opening was an opening. "Right.." he mumbled rather softly, then crossing through just before turning to V again and tilting his head. "M'What? Oh, nothing, Vee.."
- C widens his eyes at the doorway to the outisde world, eager to be free of the detention center with its insipid decorum and dogmatic workings. Upon traversing the surreal gate, C rushes away from the building and spreads his arms, gazing up at the moon with fulfillment. "To be back in the glorious moonshine," he whispers, a tone of longing in his voice that would be found in the excited titter of a desert nomad who had, after three parched days, found an oasis. "K!" C calls excitedly, still staring at the moon, not caring if the new member was even outside yet. "This is the epitome of your freedom! Let the moon cleanse you of the inhibitions and fears that damned asylum sowed in you!"
- S raises an eyebrow at C's actions, giving K a strange look, before shrugging and pointing towards the opening, as if it was an obvious course of action. At the very least, having a flowery, moon-obsessed maniac waiting for you in the other end is better than remaining in mostly-solitary confinement in the asylum. Maybe.
- K looks out the opening at the group, then glancing back at S before looking at the night sky. For too long now he'd only seen the sky through windows. Cautiously he steps through, immediately with his back against the outer wall when he reaches the outside. He takes in the cool air- such a shift from the stagnant air of the interior of the asylum, letting out an exhaling sigh.
- S follows after K, slowly treading backwards as if to ensure no enemies were going to follow, before definitely crossing the glitched entrance--or rather, exit. He soon finds himself reunited with the other five, in a different alleyway still darkened with the shades C's glorified moon cast with its pale light. He nearly aspirates the ultimatum, "Finally.", as the induced error behind him stabilizes, leaving no trace of their existence within the asylum, other than the fallen guards...
- N: V: *turns her head at K and twitches her ear. She seemed to analyze the man's emotion for a while, but despite K's "aura" of anxiety and paranoia, V cheerfully welcomed the new member with a slight peep and waved her tail*
- G walks over to K after he walks out "Welcome aboard to our fine little group here! You can call me G, since I really don't have a name. And just to get this out, I spent nearly the last five hundred years foxholed inside the research facility where I was created ~ ... where the only people accompanying me were my creators, who I'd killed."
- N shrugs and lets V jump off his shoulder. "Well...like G, my name is N. And this is V there" smiling, he points at V, who tilts her head and then sits up straight. "Shes a fire ferret, but also my guardian. Shes quite nice like the rest and myself too~"
- C interrupts his lunar divination to look over at the rest of the Algorithm, introducing themselves to K. /Welcome him and show him the beauty of the world/ C prays to the moon. Approaching K, he greets, "Must be nice to finally get out of the asylum, huh? You can call me C."
- S rolls his eyes slightly at G particularly, but begins himself, "And I am S. As I mentioned before, this is The Algorithm. We will have space for introductions--" he forces himself into an immediate verbal stop. He senses that something is amiss in the atmosphere--no, something is /horribly wrong/ in it. But as he is about to voice his concerns to the group, he freezes, his eyes wildly looking around. The scenery wavers in ripples resembling the disturbed surface tension of water, until the urban, dark surroundings meld into eachother, clashing into incoherent messes that then disperse and stabilize, revealing the nocturnal Daeridunese landscape. The moon shines high above in the night sky, while the looming, metropolitan shell of Antriquel can be seen nearby. It seems like they are now in the city's outskirts, somehow...
- G blinks, unable to react in any other way to the change of scenery. "S, did you have something to do with this?"
- N shakes his head and allows V to jump off his shoulder. "I'll....never get used to that." he shakes his head lightly. "Blegh."
- K blinks at G, unsure how to respond to the... man? Thing? He edges up against the wall slightly more, though he can't get too much further from G without making it obvious. He takes in the rest of the introductions and is about to reply when the surroundings suddenly and abruptly change. He jumps with a half-yelped "What the /hell/ was that?"
- C reels around in bewilderment. "How did we--!" Spinning back around, he examines the group. "Which one of you can teleport?!" Panic dying down rather quickly, C notices Antriquel is part of the distance now. "Although, it's nice to get out of that urban playground. The moon seems even more beautiful without all the buildings blocking the view."
- S 's own tension does not seem to ease, however. He continues to look around, extremely carefully, eyes sharp and calculating. "This... this wasn't my doing."
- N blinks and crosses his arms. "..w-what..?"
- C scoffs, kicking a little sand up with his boot. He had noticed that nobody from the Alghorithm had seemed prepared for the teleport, so... some extraneous entity had done it? "I dunno'. Seems more convenient than evil to me," C states, looking around casually. "Whoever moved us only helped get us away from that asylum and the city. I mean, if it *is* something bad, we can totally handle it, right?"
- S glances at N, then at C, walking forwards slightly to figuratively detach himself from the group to get a clearer view. Everything seems in place. The city. The moon. The sky. The landscape. But the unanswered incognita still remains. His answer is vague, as well, "I don't know."
- K glances around nervously, at the desolate landscape and the confused group, at the seemingly tense S and the city in the distance. "At... At least we're out of there..." He pauses for an instant, seeming to strain his vision to pierce the darkness, as if on alert for something. "But isn't it dangerous out here?"
- G shrugs, seeming rather nonchalant for the situation, "It could always be worse. We could have been teleported into some monster's cave, or something. Just be happy that there isn't anything bad sitting right next to us in waiting."
- N takes a few steps and then looks at V with confusion. Everything seemed strange. The teleportation itself, strange. But.. "Oh?" whispering towards V, he crouches down and pets V for a moment. "She says that it isn't very dangerous here. But the thought of something...well...somewhere transporting us. Its just....strange."
- C hears K's uneasy question, and turns to face the new recruit. "Oh, come on. Is that really any way to think?" Approaching the amber-eyed man, C points up. "You look up there, and tell me what you see. When's the last time you've experienced the beauteous sky, in it's unobstructed vastness? You can't always think about the danger. To appreciate what little is wrothy of appreciation in this world, you have to refine your view."
- K looks up, seeing the moon and stars. He blinks and looks back at C. "I see the night sky. Yeah, it's beautiful, but..." He shurugs, looking around cautiously again. " I don't think beauty is going to stop whatever monsters could be out here."
- S largely ignores everyone, for he is focused on something entirely different. He blinks, his gaze settled on something located somewhere between the actual city and them, a utterly perplexed expression having razed his usually calm, reserved composure. And indeed, a figure--obviously unaffiliated to their agenda--stands there, facing the group. A delicate and slender frame--a female's, no less--sporting a black, specialized outfit that melds with the night, white linear patterns contrasting the design, but just barely. It seems like an assassin's uniform. Cascading hair tinged a mysterious purple is accentuated with the argentine illumination from above, while two steel eyes find themselves glaring coldly at someone. At the Line Walker. The thin line of indifference her lips make twists into a smirk of cruel confidence, as if being the piece of a long-planned checkmate.
- G looks to S, whose face is strangely confused. "Is it really that confusing as to--" that's when he decided to look in the direction the Line Walker was looking, only to see the mysterious female. "So was she your girlfriend once or something?"
- C felt a pang of disappointment. /I-It's to be expected.../ he thinks to himself through a sheen of incredulity./He *did* just get out of a mental asylum. I will help you nurture your vision, K, worry not./ Uneasily leaving the worrisome man, C spies S' position and begins walking forward when he notices something amiss. An ominous, cutting figure loiters not far away. "Perhaps the cause of this strange phenomena?" C wonders aloud, intrigued. In any case, he brandishes his dahlia-bladed weapon again, prepared for anything.
- N 's own violet gaze pushes on forward, clicking upon the mysterious figure looming a good distance away from the group. In a snap, his vision quickly darted to V, who growls slightly and tatters (is that even a word) near N. It didn't seem like he knew the woman, or rather-- she didn't know them. But noticing her fierce gaze upon the leader, his eyes began to glow a slightly phantom glow. Scanning, observing the woman's features.
- N: If thats his ex...*Whistles slightly* Well, good catch. But she doesn't seem so happy, S.
- S: ?????: *remains still, arms crossed, making no attempt to even begin posing a substantial threat to the group. She, too largely ignores the rest's comments, as her attention is focused on S. Or so it seems.* Well, well. If it isn't my dearest nobody... Or rather, the worthless symbol you've given to yourself, S. I take it your new expendables are deluded imbeciles like you are?
- N: Deluded would be you...seeing as you're all alone in the middle of nowhere with us
- N places his hands up and presses his lips together casually. "Just saying."
- G widens his eyes at the mysterious woman's comments. "Only an ex would use "dearest" in that context... And I'm pretty sure I'm not deluded..."
- K stays relatively silent, regarding the strange woman as she speaks to S- obviously knowing him. He edges slightly back, trying to evade notice himself and getting in a position to run if a fight breaks out.
- N: V: *Turns her head towards K with slight worry. She felt the jolt of uneasiness running within the veins of K. She quickly trots down to K and "purs" slightly to comfort*
- C scowls a little, hearing the mysterious woman's insults. /At least she has a better vocabulary than the last rude person we encountered.../ "S," C speaks loudly, and with a tone of suspicion. "What is she talking about?"
- S practically rasps, his voice sharp and deathly, "You. You've come to stop me, haven't you?" and with these words, actions are followed. Another arrange of points of distortion immediately appear around the female, from which vidily white strings surge forward to converge at her immobile form, acute outlines embodying the concept of sharpness. They practically zoom straight towards her, seeking flesh, but then, they make a screeching halt. They remain suspended inches away from her, whose hand is now extended menacingly forward--the glint of steel visible in her grasp. Defying the distance, the end of a viciously sharp blade sprouts from the empty air in front of S's throat, tip grazing it dangerously without ever leaning for the fatal puncture. A glass core brandishes a venomously green liquid that feeds the razor edges with tiny veins... "Rgh."
- S: ?????: I'd reconsider doing that if I were you.
- N blinks and whispers to himself. "...My...she seems pretty deadly with /that./" violet eyes quickly turn their attention to the blade held at S's throat, but then back at the woman. /...impressive../
- G blinks, then nods "Yep. Definitely an ex"
- C growls and takes a measured step forward, trying not to be too noticeable in case the adversary would notice him and injure S. /What kind of life did you have before today, to make an enemy of such a vicious woman, S?!/
- S glares at the woman, followed with one at G, before making a small hand motion which makes each and every line waver and fade away instantly. She smiles upon seeing this, lowering the weapon she threatens S with, making the disconnected end of the blade disappear--and reveal itself, in her hand, to be an advanced dagger with a specialized core of venom. Whoever she is, she seems to know exactly what she's doing.
- S: ?????: I knew you would be reasonable. I have not come to stop you--doing so now would be useless considering you already got "K" out. I merely came here as a reminder that you are escalating in our ranks as our enemies, the further you tread. And you wouldn't like to know what happens to our enemies, do you? *she chuckles coldly*
- G gapes in surprise "There's more than one!? I never would have guessed S got around so much!"
- K startles slightly at the sudden ferret purring at him, backing up slightly out of not knowing how to react. His eyes return to the confrontation. Though he wasn't really understanding what was even going on, he recognized that this woman was not an /immediate/ danger... yet.
- C remains cautious and irritated at the woman for threatening S, but inwardly he had to admit... she had style, and an elegant grace and confidence in her actions that was thrilling to witness. "Maybe now would be a good time to compliment the *scorned*, *dangerous* woman, S?" C whispers loudly enough for S to hear. "It makes it harder for a woman to stay mad at you when you compliment her."
- N chuckles slightly. "With a woman like that, I bet she doesn't take the generic "i love your shoes." compliments or anything--" The blood scripter immediately paused, then stepped forward. "But...no, we shouldn't be lightly commenting on such a dangerous figure like her."
- S: Shut up, C. *his eyes return to the gray, indifferent ones of hers.* I don't care who "they" are. You know I am not stopping. You might as well have not appeared in first place... *he sighs, almost as in defeat of a battle nobody is aware is being fought* By whatever means you had to intercept me.
- S: ?????: *Through her smirk of confidence, a certain condescension can be seen flashing in her eyes. Her next comment even makes S's eyes widen slightly* You are mistaken, I did not intercept you. I intercepted your fate. It's quite interesting how it works, you should know that. Remain lost in your own reverie, then. This will be my final warning... Consider yourselves to be fortunate, for I won't be opposing you today. *She steps back slightly, the edges of her form distorting in barely discernible horizontal waves as she appears to fade into nothingness with each step.* But know, still, that we are always watching. Farewell, Algorithm. We will certainly meet again. *And then, she is gone.*
- G mutters after hearing N's comment, but unable to help himself "And he doesn't even know who the others are? Damn, that guy's been *around*."
- K looks around as if to see where the stranger went. Not finding her, he looks at S and hesitantly asks, "Wh- who was that?"
- N blinks and shakes his head slowly. Only one word could sum up what he saw, felt, and thought. "Woah."
- C lets his guard fall as the woman disappears. He looks around at the rest of the Algorithm, hearing, with distaste, a few more jokes about past relationships. C didn't put any stock in that theory, and clearly there were more pressing matters to discuss. Fully approaching S, C inquires, "S, what have you *done* to her? Don't you know not make enemies of lethal ladies?"
- S lets out an exasperated sigh, his gaze trailing to the arid ground below for a moment. He grits his teeth, a single curse escaping his lips, "Goddamnit..." Composing himself, he looks at K, then at the rest of them. That's what they are. The Algorithm. These are their codes. Even himself is one of the variables for his ultimate formula. "That..." he states rather dryly, "That was Friae. She's been obstructing my plans for quite some time. Heh... It's a twisted irony. I myself have no way of anticipating her." he looks at the sky once again, as if the jeweled firmament would provide a solution... but then, he watches the horizon opposite to the great, hollow Antriquel. "Nevermind that. We will have time in the base. Let's go."
- G , despite being genuinely curious about how S may answer C's question, still felt urged to say his mind. "You make it sound as if you've had experience with that last part," he muttered, hald-hoping C had not heard him. S answered the question, to which G was happy that he knew the name of the girl. "...At least we got to know your girlf-- You know what, you're right, it probably would be best to get back to the base."
- K blinks at the explanation, still not knowing what's going on... But nevertheless, he shrugs in general agreement.
- N remains silent for a moment, snapping at V to run back to his side as he stares off into the distance. Analyzing, observing. Looking at something beyond the horizons of a desolate area. "..Y- Of course-" he pulls out a glove and places it on his right hand. A slight blue pulse quickly illuminated his gloved hand before he turned to V. "We should get going."
- N: V: *nods and yawns slightly*
- C hears G's comment and turns bemusedly to the green-haired man. Starting with a scoff, he replies "It's common knowledge that woman are both the fairer and the more dangerous sex. A scorned woman is to be more feared than almost any other force on Daeridune The only stronger power is a woman's unrequited love..." /All these boys in this group. I guess I'll have to teach them about romance. Firstly, though, somewhere safe to settle down would be second only to a delicious meal right now./ "Is the base far away? Or should we call Friae back and have her teleport us there?"
- S begins pacing, motioning the group to follow along, direction opposite to the moonlit city that remains there, for this night, as a visual reminder of their successful mission. Sometime else, they would have to return, but for now, reaching the base was a priority, before the monsters that plagued the broken world reached them first. He replied, more accepting of C's joke now that it was over, for now at least, "I am sure next time you see her, it won't be under good terms. You've yet to truly prove yourself C... negotiations for temporary immunity are definitely not in our list of reliable tactics." he chuckles slightly.
- N follows along with V. Overcome by silence, he listens attentively.
- K follows, trailing a bit nearer to S as the man at least seems to know the situation the best. He casts a clance back towards Antriquel, giving a slight shiver at the lasting memory of the asylum.
- G follows behind, ever-so-slightly humbled by C's rather firey reply to G's comment, seeming to be holding in a laugh as hard as he can
- N: V: *looks up at N slightly* /Well...the tension passed...good thing. / *Giving off another yawn, V flashed her fangs slightly before looking at S.* /Upon arrival, I'm sure you're going to...introduce K to our tight-knit family, right?/
- C keeps stride with S, glancing up at the moon occasionally. "Friae let us go unscathed this time, didn't she? How many times have you opposed her with all of us supporting you? I'm confident I could hold my own in a fight against her, S, if that's what's required."
- S stops for the first time, after a good time of having crossed the nightly wasteland surrounding the near-silhouette of Antriquel in the background behind them, and scans the immediate horizon, appearing to search for a visual confirmation of sorts... He finds it in a shape, a hollow contortion of the ground beyond, uncertain depth discernible by the moonlight otherwise dimly illuminating the landscape. Surely, this landmark would be familiar to nearly everyone in the group, as well. "Eventful night, uneventful walk." he comments to nobody in particular, glancing back at the rest. The encounter with Friae still feels like it happened minutes ago despite their trip having lasted for more than half an hour, approximately. Time is not an issue right now, anyway.
- K sighs slightly as they walk. The landscape around them seems free of danger, but... nighttime. No way to be completely sure. He glances around warily, as if expecting to see one of the supposed monsters he'd heard about pop up and start attacking, but the moonlight revealed no such thing. Looking back in the direction he's going, K blinks as he sees S stop and make a comment about the uneventful walk. Were they there yet? Looking ahead, he finally sees what appears to be a chasm, not completely lit by the moon and stars. He looks at it with more than a little trepidation, wondering if that was their destination... but there wasn't anywhere else nearby. "Are we... going down there, or...?"
- G chuckles at K's suggestion "No, nothing like that. We built our base inside this canyon here. Least conspicuous way we could find to hide out. What'd you expect, some giant tower in the middle of the desert? Please. That's something /I/ would do. We have S to do that kind of thinking."
- N 's feet calmly shifted one after the other as the group headed deeper into the outskirts of Antriquel's boundaries. The night sky shrouded the figure of the young Blood Scripter, but only a faint hue of purple escaped from his eyes while shifting them around in observance. It was quiet, cold. Blissfully at peace without the interruptions of industrial failiure sprouting out of the concrete puddle in the middle of a sandbox. Any signs of buildings and rusted metal always irritated him, but N simply gave a sigh and shook the imagery out of his thoughts and merely gave out a slight chuckle under his breath after his ears caught wind of the conversation ahead of him.
- N: V: *Turning her head at N, she blinks and continues pushing onward with slight curiousity.* /Something you find funny, En?/
- C grew easier and easier as they generated distance from Antriquel. The urban playground had always been clinical and vapid-- and, worst of all, the superfluous buildings served only to block the moonlight. Although, their base in the canyon wasn't so much different... at least it was natural, though, and so had an intrinsic beauty. Catching ear of a conversation, finally, C turned his attention to socializing. "You'd prefer a tower, G? Huh. I guess a tower view of the desert wouldn't be so bad. It would also bring you closer to the moon... Hey, why didn't we pick a tower?" He addressed S. "We could've just used some kind of cloaking technique... Oh! And we could've had lots of traps around it! It actually would've been a good vantage point to see everything..."
- N slightly turns his gaze at V, observing her small being trotting besides him. He couldn't quite muster up an answer for a while, but after looking forward again, N broke out a half smile. /Yeah, us./ At the moment C suggested something to S, N couldn't help but listen over and mutter softly. "Oh no, but if we're cloaked that means the moon cannot see us.....!"
- N: V: /Shut up, the moonlight actually amplifies your powers./
- N: ./More the reason why not to get a tower, then./
- S stops for a split second, seemingly shaken away from his own thoughts, "Because," he replies naturally, "Cloaking technology would be inefficient considering the power it requires. And magic, as rare as it is, would be quickly discovered by /them/. I opted for simplified effectiveness."
- G nods "And that's why I'm not in charge."
- N quickly looks at G. "...Mhmm."
- G mumbles, "Hey, for once I'm not the only one who agrees with me!"
- N: V: *cheerfully peeps and leaps forward in agreement with G, although her thoughts are mainly focused on how N was being overly sarcastic. It was odd, really, as the blood scripter was rarely like this*
- K shifts his stance uncomfortably, looking around again; there was no telling what the shadows could be hiding. The longer they waited... But the man didn't say anything, not wanting to start anything should the group not wish to keep moving.
- C grows docile at hearing his leader's reasoning. Still, he muttered, "I mean, couldn't we have found something other than a cave in the wall of a canyon? No moonlight gets in... And it's so stifling." Raising his voice, C questioned intentionally, "But couldn't we get some art for the headquarters? Something... vivacious. Inspiring! Or maybe a skylight."
- N diverts his purple gaze at C and slightly snorts. "You do realize our job is not inclined towards crafty home jobs-- far from that." he shrugged. "Even I, a painter myself in my day, wouldn't waste time trying to make art for the place anyway...."
- G begins to listen to the conversation beginning between C and N, but soon becomes uninterested and looks up at the sky, apparently for the first time. For he points in an area opposite the moon with a giddy face. "Wow, the stars are amazing tonight!"
- N: V: /Why are we so obsessed with things above us../
- N: ./..Thats beyond what I know, V. Don't question it../
- S hums lightly as if agreeing, directing a nonchalant look at C, "Not from our funds, no. We have more important matters to worry about than superficial decoration." his sharp eyes befall on K next. The one they came all the way to Antriquel for. Obviously nobody knew why exactly aside from him being the alleged next member of the team, but... "And speaking of which. Do you have the slightest clue of what we--The Algorithm--does?"
- K blinks as he's addressed. "Well... no, not really," He admits, though S had probably expected that. K had only just been... "recruited", after all, and explanations had been thus far minimal.
- G regajns concentration on mstters at hand just long enough to hear S's question and K's reply. "Well, we're a sort of rebel group. Or we will be. We haven't done much yet. We were all recruited by S because we have these awesome abilities like how I can convert anything to data and scan it and then even change it to make it all glitchy and --"
- N smirks and crosses his arms. "To a small point; we're the forgotten shadows behind the walls, towers, and bars you have been used to seeing. Ones that they forget are even there, but are always present." pausing for a moment, N presses his lips together under the notion that what he said was rather cryptic, then corrects himself a bit. "Well, erm-- lets leave it at special and talented kids who have a need to blow things up with a smile."
- N: V: *stops and places a paw on her forehead lightly* /...how simple, tell the frightened man that we explode things for sport rather than telling him the true reason why we're around./
- N: ./Well, I'm trying to be more open like you suggested. Comedy merely aids that./
- C glanced at G with an unfavorable look. "Our goal," C cleanly interrupted the green-haired man, "is to make the world more beautiful. Scourge it of all the people who poison the planet with their restrictions, and tear down the unseemly curtain of industry. We rebel only against imperfection, and we can do great things with you help, K." A casual smile played on the lunatic's face, the irises in his eyes shifting colors from devious red to an assuaged purple in the moonlight, the two colors mingling like a waning, ascetic tide.
- K looks at N in mild alarm at the comment about blowing things up, but his attention is quickly drawn away as G attempts his own explanation. Then once again he turns to the next person to speak, C, who interrupted G mid-sentence-- and simply blinks at the man's explanation <insert stuff Chatzy ate>
- N: V: *innocently loooks at K and twirls her tail for a moment, then proceeding to jump onto N's shoulder.* ./I already feel bad for this poor man./
- S simply smirks and chuckles slightly. Their group impression must have scarred K by now, but considering who all was there... it was to be expected, in retrospect. He finally voices himself, "Essentially, what C said is true. The ruling structure of Daeridune is flawed to a tyrannical fault, oppressing what little towns and cities are left." he looks directly at K now, "You must, at some point, have heard of the word "magic". You also should be aware that using magic will further deteriorate the world." as he says this, he simply reaches out to a certain point beside him, as if the empty air held something nobody could really discern, "But it is a lie." Snap. A phantasmal cord ripped from absolutely nowhere, coiling in S's hand as if it were alive, faintly pulsing with an aura of ignition. "The art of performing the normally-impossible can be harnessed by anyone. It is precisely this we intend to change once the governments have been overthrown." A seemingly-careless flick of his hand sends the line impacting towards the barren ground meters away from the group, setting it ablaze with an illogical, space-burning flame that reduces itself to nothing in moments. "We aim to change the world."
- K glances at S as the man chuckles, then turns away- thankfully- from C as the man begins speaking. K is silent for a minute, just listening, blinking out of mild surprise at the word "magic" and at S telling him about the deterioration. /And now why is he grabbing at the air?/ K idly wonders, only to startle at a snapping sound as some... cord materializes in S's hand. "Um," K repeats, his voice holding more alarm than confusion, but S continues talking. K has little further reaction... until S suddenly sets a spot of ground ablaze with a flick of the cord. "Woah! Uh--" He takes a few steps back but the fire is already gone. He looks at the group, confusion and suspicion apparent in his golden eyes. "But... why do you need /me/ for this?"
- S crosses his arms in response, turning back to apparently resume his way towards the canyon, but he instead proceeds with a reply, "You all, with no exception, have a role to fulfill. It is independent from your particular powers and abilities--which yes, will make the goal we are striving for reachable, but not quite possible yet. Possibility arises from personal skill, and it is exactly this kind of skill what is needed for the master plan." a brief moment of silence to let the words sink, before the ultimatum. "One could quite say, yes, that we have been reunited here by the work of fate itself. And that guess wouldn't be exactly wrong, either." A knowing smile, cast into the darkness of the horizon, which quickly fades back into normality as S urges the group again, "Come, we cannot stay too long here. Rest is close, but not guaranteed." And with that, he steps forward.
- G glances toward K after S's explanation "Don't worry if you can't understand a word of it. We usually don't either."
- N looks at G. "Hearing that from the digital one almost explains why some things are the way they are." he says with a slight playfullness in his tone, but then continues pressing forward with a small yawn escaping his lips.
