- form: [be] + past participle
- - This is the general form for passive sentences, but “be” can be in different forms for different tenses.

- Ice cream has been eaten for more than 2000 years. - present perfect (started in the past, continues)
- A new subway station is being built near my house. - present continuous (in progress now)
- Note: we do not use passive (with “be”) in perfect progressive tenses
