  1. The OOC tldr:
  2. The Order of the Hydra is a roleplay player organization. Unlike a guild, we de-emphasis the exchange of items and resources between members, but encourage other types of cooperation. Group play, assistance in game, the exchange of advice and knowledge, and a healthy dose of imagination and roleplay are what this is about.

  10.
  11. What is it?
  12. The Order of the Hydra is an honourable order of knights. Knights of the Hydra are paragons of virtue and honour. A Knight of the Hydra seeks to both live a life of service, while setting an example to others by his/her own accomplishments and deeds.
  13.
  14.
  15. The hydra has long symbolized the many challenges that we might encounter in our lives. For the Knight, these challenges have even greater importance. The heads of the hydra represent the challenges to the Knight's honourable conduct. A Knight of the Hydra must forever be vigilant to maintain the highest standards of chivalry, courage, courtesy, respect, truth, valor, and honour.
  16.
  17.
  18. What the Order is Not.
  19. The Order of the Hydra is not another guild. We discourage trade items

  24. Beliefs of the Order of the Hydra
  25. The Order of the Hydra above all else espouses respect for others. Members of the Order strive to act in honourable ways. Dishonourable actions can result in removal from the Order and being stripped of any titles earned, though this rarely happens. Members of the Order of the Hydra follow the virtues of the Five Pilgrims of MO: Curiosity, Diligence, Resourcefulness, Sacrifice, and Wisdom.
  26. Members of the Order honour these virtues through their actions in their daily lives. They strive to uphold these virtues and stand as examples to others. Members of the Order may honour the virtues in their own ways, but many choose to do so by teaching and assisting others, exploring the realms of MO, or by striving to become more proficient and knowledgeable in the ways of MO.

  29. The Five Pilgrims of MO
  30.
  31. * The Newb
  32. * The Newb is the embodiment of Curiosity.
  33. * What can the Newb teach us? The Newb reminds us of our humble origins. A Knight of the Hydra strives to always learn and explore. Through questing and exploration the Knight learns about the world of MO.
  34. * How should a Knight respect the Newb? The Newb also gives the Knight the opportunity to share his or her knowledge with the less experienced and to guide them in the ways of MO. When dealing with the Newb, the Knight should maintain patience, clearly communicate, and remember that it wasn’t long ago that the Knight may have been in a similar situation.
  35. * The Skillmaster
  36. * The Skillmaster is the embodiment of Diligence.
  37. * What can the Skillmaster teach us? The Skillmaster is to be respected for they have dedicated so much time and effort to mastering specific skills. Often times a Skillmaster will have valuable insights to share about proper techniques and tactics regarding their area of expertise.
  38. * How should a Knight respect the Skillmaster? The Knight should seek out those learned Skillmasters when possible and learn from them. The Knight should keep an open mind, for others always have something to teach us. Additionally, a Skillmaster has likely spent a considerable amount of time in concentrated effort. The immense amount of time and effort required for skill mastery is to be greatly respected and the Knight should show such deference and respect towards those who have mastery in their skills.
  39. * The Trader
  40. * The Trader is the embodiment of Resourcefulness.
  41. * What can the Trader teach us? All growth, whether training, skilling, or simple exploration requires resources. The Trader is adept at gaining and exchanging resources through the utilization of the market and currency of the realm.
  42. * How should a Knight respect the Trader? Traders are to be respected and can be valuable allies. A Knight should strive to be fair in their dealings with others. A noble Knight will gain a reputation as a fair and trustworthy trader.
  43. * The Pure
  44. * The Pure is the embodiment of Sacrifice.
  45. * What can the Pure teach us? Through careful planning and patience can come great strength and power. The Pure take a more difficult road than others. They choose to forego training in some areas in order to become highly specialized. Their training can be arduous and difficult. Much can be learned from the Pure’s methods.
  46. * How should a Knight respect the Pure? The Pure is to be respected for their diligence and dedication. A Knight should be aware that they may have much to learn from the Pure despite being a higher combat level. Do not underestimate them and respect them for the immense work they have put into their training.
  47. * The Veteran
  48. * The Veteran is the embodiment of Wisdom.
  49. * What can the Veteran teach us? The counterbalance to the Newb, the Veteran has been in the lands of MO long enough to have gained knowledge of a range of subjects. This breadth gives great insight. There are some things which can only be learned through the passage of time. In addition, the veteran has likely made many friends and gained much in the way of resources.
  50. * How should a Knight respect the Veteran? A Veteran can make a valuable ally. A Knight of the Hydra should show his or her worthiness to the Veteran by being the paragon of honour and virtue that the order stands for.
  51.
  52.
  53. The Trinity of MO
  54. In Addition to the Pilgrims of MO, the Knights of the Hydra also holds the Trinity of MO in highest esteem. Without the Trinity, the lands of MO would grow dark. To those of the Trinity we give our gratitude and deepest respect.
  55.
  56.
  57. The Trinity of MO includes The Creator, The Dev, and The Mod.
  58.
