So, why the hell we choose this cute Digimon instead way cooler ShineGreymon? Well, this idea comes when I play this game with English Patch. When you recruit MegaSeadramon, he will reward you a technique called Waterfall (and gamefaqs is a lie again that you can't receive this if you're not Water Digimon). This technique is long range and can cause slow status effect. In short, this technique while has lower base damage, it's as good as magma bomb without any kind of grind to obtain it making Waterfall is good technique for speedrun. Agumon can Digivolve to Growlmon then later MegaSeadramon and MarineAngemon to access this technique.

Furthermore, there are 2 fights in Colosseum that will give you total 3x Speed Chip and 3x Speed Fruit which will add +210 Speed total and those fights only accessible by having Water Digimon as your partner !!! So we can totally exchange this Speed into Offense for training and can add +210 Offense as well from training into MarineAngemon. I even get 999 Offense with my run (not really needed, 900 is good number already). One more thing is some forced fights are fire element Digimon which boost Waterfall's damage against Fire, I've been mind blown seeing 2k damage on Meramon...

With better stats and completely eliminate the RNG process for technique learning, this route is really preferred for speedrun.

A quick note for NG+, Omnimon with Fighting Aura and Charge Attack should be best choice. Already tested many possible NG+ Digimon and Holyniwa's choice is basically best already. Just optimize other things for a good time.
