  1.
  2. Lily
  3.
  4. Hermit of Purity
  5.
  6. Appearance http://safebooru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1069153
  7.
  8. As a result of her research her form has changed to one that while still human bears the taint of her purity. Hair that glows with a faint light in the darkness, a sheen that is not humanly possible. Eyes that leak silver, and reflect far too much.
  9.
  10. Personality
  11. A reverse of most professionals, she is serious when dealing with matters that don't relate to her research, but quite whimsical when researching. Smiling and laughing as she studies and refines the essences that are the core of her research. Quiet and reserved when dealing with people, as much from the vision she sees when looking at people with her Jougan as her limit dealings with people. The lab is where she lives and breathes, there were members of her family that dealt with the selling and negotiations while her entire focus was to refine her magecraft, seeking that origin of everything. The essence that is within everything, the absolute element that cannot be refined any further, the origin of existence.
  12.
  13. A magic researcher seeking the origin as all Magi do. Her research lead her down the path of seeking the pure essence of something, approaching its origin. Distilling and extracting the measure of anything, stored in a liquid form. Her family line had long provided pure materials for other magi to use. Medicines, poisons, metals. They were capable of creating the most pure elements to be used, though they seldom were able to make use of it on their own.
  14.
  15. Lily's Sealing Designation came from this path taken further than anyone in her family had before. Drawing the essence out into a pure form existing all on its own. A form that can be mixed, combined, forged or used directly.
  16.
  17. Manifesting Jougan she could see the essences of everything, and she was disgusted by what she saw in her fellow humans, so much that she wept for days when she saw herself. This alone was not enough for a sealing designation, but when Lily purified herself, drawing out all that was impure within herself, that was the final straw. Becoming an entity that was both less than and more than human the Clockwork tower sought to seal her, use her human purification for their own benefits. Her ability let her even purify her own crest, the fear of what could be done was simply too much when combined.
  18.
  19. Fleeing to the East Lily's family fortune supported her to continue her research as a hermit, occasionally working as a healer for additional income, as well as more materials. Vials and vials of terribly diseases, all purified to extremes. Recreating the Black Plague is not beyond her with a single vial if she were to so desire. Such a thing has no appeal to her though, only the search for a more perfect perfection. Delving deeper into the existence of her work, continuing to enhance her own purity, leaving both her crest and her body much different than she was before. It would be difficult to even define her as human in any way beyond shape and perhaps mind, if a magi could even be said to have a human mind in the first place.
  20.
  21. If it can be defined as an essence. Be it the strength of steel, the beauty of moonlight, the way a blade cuts, Lily almost without a doubt has collected it, refined it to its highest state. For some she has combined them with herself, what does the purest lights essence add to a human? Does it make her more or less? For many she has mixed with with each other, seeking to understand their reactions. Why is the strength of steel a liquid, while the piercing of a spear a plasma. And their mixture is so explosive, and refines to a molten solid at all temperatures. Extracting what makes a solid a solid, purifying it until a drop of it is enough to corrupt a liquid with its purity. Purity so strong it taints.
  22.
  23. The bounded field around her workshop is based around this purity. Essence of metal bound into the walls for strength, and into the field itself. Light so pure it blinds those that seeks it, leaving them unable to find it. Dabbling in other concepts lends to its strength further, binding the essence of a maze into it. The deeper into the field one pushes without permission the worse effects they will find her collected essences overwriting their own applying a strong effect to them that is very difficult to be resisted.
  24.
  25. Abilities:
  26. Purified Crest: Having refined her own crest, pulling the essence of her spells out and then infusing them back in they are nearly without waste, optimized in their function. The crest is even more a part of her than the normal magi's crest, passing it on is likely impossible with how its essence has blended with her own, as even if she were able to remove it without the crest she could no longer infuse it into someone else. Her family line will end with her, though, as her body is so far changed she does not fear for that time.
  27.
  28. Purified Body: More resilient than a normal human, stronger and tires slowly even her very circuits process prana more efficiently. Her body truly cannot be considered that of a human any more.It is harder for her to be affected by outside influences. A great use in her work as even the raw essences she uses will not seep into her skin without using a magecraft. If she ages at all it is unnoticable, and the essences she posses allow her to reverse even this small amount should she choose. Her life is devoted to her research, and her research has given her life.
  29.
  30.
  31. Spells:
  32. Analyze: Delving into <something> or an essence she can seek to understand it. Measuring the various different concepts that are within a <something> Or seeking to understand the concepts essence itself. By studying how they react, by learning the physical laws of the world she is able to increase her level of understanding.
  33.
  34. Extract Essence: Drawing a single essence out of <something>.
  35.
  36. Purify Essence: Purifying the essences that have been extracted, bringing them to their ultimate state.
  37.
  38. Mix Essence: Merging two different essences. This can be repeated more than once, but there can only be two essence reagents at each step.
  39.
  40. Infuse Essence: While some essences purity are so strong that they will easily mix with <something> there are much better results when actually infusing the essence into that <something>.
  41.
  42. Synthesize Essence: The pinnacle of her research, she is capable of synthesizing an essence from nothing. She cannot synthesize an essence she does not understand, and often it is not pure without further work.
  43.
  44. Parallel: The ability to invoke multiple instances of the same spell at the same time. She is capable of running many simultaneous experiments as a result.
  45.
  46. Force: While impressive sounding this spell merely allows an application of small amounts of force. Not strong enough to do more than break a window its damage potential is very limited, however with precision use it comes into its own in the workshop allowing Lily to manipulate materials and essences with extreme precision in effect lending her more hands. In combination with parallel it allows her to truly be a one person research team.
  47.
  48.
  49. Essences:
  50.
  51. Life: Extracted from plants originally it contains the essence of a thriving life. It is a light green liquid of low viscosity. The more pure it is the less green there is in it. Very stable on its own, reacts with just about everything though and amplifies. Really puts a shine when infused into conditioner.
  52. Keeps on Hand: 3
  53.
  54. Burn: Extracted from a flame it is the very essence of burning. Consuming to generate light and heat it is a powerful concept if used properly. Very useful in refining other essences as well as it can help to further burn away impurities. Unstable when not contained in the vials she makes. A volatile plasma that glows with a ruby flare.
  55. Keeps on Hand: 1
  56.
  57. Ether: The essence of prana. An inert 'noble' gas it reacts with nothing on its own, and in fact is what she uses to ensure that her storage of essences remains pure. Added to the glass and the stopper it prevents the other essences from reacting. Imbued into other essences it tempers them, giving them a longer 'life' of effect while stabilizing their effect as well. A pearly white gas.
  58. Keeps on Hand: 2
  59.
  60. Mass: Extracted from lead, it is a very heavy liquid. It holds the concepts of weight and applied to anything will increase that greatly. Similar to mercury, but black.
  61. Keeps on Hand: 1
  62.
  63. Sun Light: Purified light, an energetic gas that glows. Is very very bright when concentrated.
  64. Keeps on Hand: 1
  65.
  66. Moon Light: A silvery liquid, placid and calm. Despite knowing that it is the same source as Sun Light it still distills differently.
  67.
  68. Darkness: Very hard to extract, working in a pitch black room. A dark liquid that absorbs light. Despite this does not dilute itself at all unless exposed to actual essence of light. They negate each other, and best to keep separate as this negation is rather disturbing.
  69. Keeps on Hand: 1
  70.
  71. Liquid: The very essence of liquidity, flowing and filling. Unsurprisingly it is a liquid itself. A pale blue color it swirls even when undisturbed.
  72.
  73. Solid: Unmoving, resisting change to form, a liquid that is almost a solid. (Non newtonian fluid) Dark grey in color it only moves slowly, and if force is sharply applied it will solidify briefly.
  74. Keeps on Hand: 1
  75.
  76. Gas: Expanding and filling a space. Taking up as much as possible yet able to be greatly compressed. A clear gas.
  77.
  78. Plasma: Attepts at extracting the essence of plasma have been unsuccessful as of yet.
  79.
  80. Cold: The absence of energy, unmoving to the most basic level. Extracted from ice this heavy blue liquid requires an insulated container or it will soak up the heat of an entire room with east. Makes air conditioning much cheaper.
  81. Keeps on Hand: 2
  82.
  83. Heat: Infusing energy and movement into a system. An overly excited plasma it forms small balls of itself inside the vial. Also must be insulated. Required further processing from 'Burn' to distil into this essence.
  84. Keeps on Hand: 1
  85.
  86. Silence: From an empty room this liquid absorbs sound. Light pink in color, flows easily.
  87. Keeps on Hand: 1
  88.
  89. Suffering: Extracted from a sick human. A bubbling green-brown liquid it oozes around inside the vial.
  90. On Hand: 1
  91.
  92. Obstruct: Drawn from a stone wall, this is the essence of obstruction. A thick heavy gas deep burgundy in color.
  93. On Hand: 1
  94.
  95. Amnesia: In liue of a typical magi's ability to hypnotize someone into forgetting the essence of Amnesia is Lily's attempt to remain hidden from the world at large if discovered. A completely synthetic essence it's purity is low despite her work on it. Sufficient to erase short term memories, it still is disgustingly unrefined. A light purple gas that quickly disapates into nothing, absorbing the memories of even inanimate objects and thus neutralizing itself as it reacts with the memories.
  96. On Hand: 2
  97.
  98. Good Dream: A beautiful dream. Purified to the extremes, one of her pleasures to work on.
  99. On Hand: 1
  100.
  101. Lily's main strength is not the few essences that she carries on her hip, but rather time in her lab to create and refine what she needs. A day and knowledge of what might be after her and she will be able to prepare against it. A week and she will have new essences specifically for the situation. A month and she is a monster.
