  1. Newbie mix coaching Guide
  2. 1: Introduce yourself to your team, tell them who you are and what your experience in 6's is (past teams/ how long you have played/ what you main/ ect.)
  3. 2: Make sure your team knows their rollouts. Explicitly ask everyone if you need to to make sure they all know what to do. Nothing kills a mix like your demo not knowing how to rollout to mid on badlands.
  4. 3: Tell them to ask any questions before the mix starts. Make sure they have general map knowedge and that they feel comfortable asking you anything they need to.
  5. 4: During the mix, try and take mental notes of every player on your team and what they could be doing to improve. When you tell them these tips later on, do it in a constructive way. Having a bad coach can easily turn people away from newbie mixes.
  6. 5: Your objective in the mixes is to improve the play of the newbies, not to win the mix. Try to keep that in mind while you are playing.
  7. 5a. This means that if your team is beating the other team handily, try something risky with your team like a spy offclass to give the oppertinity for the enemy team to take a round off you and to give your team the experience of a risky play.
  8. 5b. This also means real time critique of your team. Don't feel pressured to try and get everything right, feel free to focus on a specific point during the game if you feel it is nesisarry.
  9. 5c. If one of your teammates D/c's during the mix, make an actual effort to get a substitue in asap. It could be another coach or another newbie, just make sure it gets done.
  10. 5: After the mix has concluded, have your team stay in the mumble channel for a fre addition minutes to go over what you saw that they could be improving. This only has to be two or three things, do not try to overwhelm them. The purpose of these tips are to let them know what they can work on in the newbie pugs we are going to hold.
  11. 6: Tell them to ask any additional questions they may have, then once they are complete tell them to re-join the main mumble channel to play another mix or to form a newbie pug. Thank them for participating and wish them luck.
  12. This is a simple guide meant for your own interpritation. If you see something that could be added, say so.
