  9. Hello, and welcome to a simple guide to properly utilizing the “Magical Suspension” Expression 2 chip. Base code by Dakota, chat commands & user-friendly selection by Aerthas & code
  10. clean up and more precise chat commands by DatAmazingCheese.
  11.
  12. In this guide, we will be going over changing settings and why you change them & how to use the chip.
  13.

  15.
  16. Changing the settings and why
  17.
  18. Open the E2 editor and find the chip, open it and change your settings.
  19.
  20. You have 4 options change, these are:
  21.
  22. - Constant
  23. - Damping
  24. - Elastics per wheel
  25. - Sprocket wheel
  26.
  27. - Constant is the stiffness of the suspension, the higher the value the more stiff the suspension will be. 50k is the maximum, if you are on 50k constant and your suspension is still not stiff enough...
  28.
  29. - You will need to change elastics per wheel. This setting will define how many elastics there will be per wheel (default 1).
  30.
  31. - Next there is damping, damping is the value that defines how soft your suspension is, it is commonly used as a shock absorber value. A low value is good for off-roading and tanks, whilst a high value is good for racing cars.
  32.
  33. - Finally there is the sprocket wheel, now this is the wheel number of the sprocket, from the front of the tank back. For example, if the front wheel was the sprocket, you would set it to 0. But, if the rear wheel was the sprocket and there were 8 wheels in total. You would set it to 8.
  34.
  35. Once you have changed your settings and you are satisfied. Spawn the chip in an easy to reach place.

  39. Using the chip
  40.
  41. Now, go to your road-wheels. We need to move them down to compensate for the sag from the weight of the tank. Grab the ACF Armour tool and press R on your tank. Note the "Physical Mass", not parented. Move your wheels down 3-6 units in proportion to your mass. A good rule of thumb is to move your wheels down 3 units for every 7 tons of physical mass.
  42.
  43. Once you have moved your road-wheels down. Refresh the E2 and follow the chat prompts exactly. Remember, thickness is the rope thickness. Once you have finished the prompts and the suspension has spawned, follow the instructions and set the weight, phys-prop (if you want to) and make-spherical the wheels. I tend to set the radius to half the SProps wheel size plus 1.
  44.
  45. Finally, you will need to axis center your sprocket and idler to the base plate, then remove ropes and elastics from them.
  46.
  47. You should now have working suspension!
  48.
  49. If you run into any issues, feel free to add me and I can help out.
