  2.
  3. >I shuffled through the final stacks of paperwork, sending it off to wherever in the Pantheon it needed to go
  4. >The work itself was not difficult, nor was it particularly exhausting, or even something I was averse to
  5. >In fact, I was very happy to do the work that I did for the many thoughtforms that worked here in the Pantheon
  6. >I myself was a weaker thoughtform, a paper pusher that was created by one of the Gods at the top to make sure the Offerings and Gifts were properly allocated to their respective departments
  7. >I was given just enough autonomy to keep the system running smoothly, but not quite enough to muster up the courage to evolve beyond my position in the astral
  8. >Most of the Gods at the top were the big league namedrops from Earth: God, Odin, Ra, Death, etc.
  9. >They were universally believed in through one avenue or another; or at the very least received the most Offerings
  10. >Offerings were simply anything addressed to them: last wills and testaments, Bibles printed, McDonald's coupons passed out, or the simple prayer or Internet meme
  11. >It didn't matter in the end; so long as it was offered, it gave them power
  12. >Gifts were a similar idea, but were more like a 'super-Offering'
  13. >Give enough gifts to a thoughtform and they become egregores, and enough gifts to egregores and they become Gods
  14.
  15. >The department I most often worked on was service to the low-to-mid level Gods: nature spirits, manifestations of phenomenon, and creations that stuck with people but were mostly rooted in the astral world, like comic book characters and movie trailers
  16. >One of the new hires was a thoughtform named Reitia, a cult goddess from Veneti
  17. >She was a rather shy and timid thought, as if unsure of her place here in Pantheon
  18. >She was dressed simply and plain, still in tune with the traditions of the Veneti, and kept her hair elaborately tied and styled, as it was very long and a deep shade of blue
  19. >Meeting her for the first time was strange; it was as if my perception of Eternity was distorted; things seemed to slow down around her as she smiled at me
  20. >As one of the older thoughtforms, it was my responsibility to show her the ropes and explain to her what we did to help serve the Gods
  21. >She picked up on the basics quick: making sure to catalog everything, an understanding of MicroMacrocosm Excel, the works
  22. >But there was a strange nostalgia to her looking over the humdrum of sending the respective Gifts and Offerings to the Gods, almost as if she had once been in their place
  23.
  24. >Things were smooth for a while; work being done, lunch being enjoyed, the latest updates of the lower dimensions filtering upwards to our News
  25. >History was very fleeting for thoughtforms; many of us barely lasted a few moments, so the idea of centuries of 3D time passing was a triviality to us
  26. >Apparently a human named 'Donald Trump' had won the Election for his country, through the combined efforts of many powerful Gods and Egregores, with a special mention going out to Kek, an ancient Egyptian Diety who came out of retirement to once again wreck havoc on the human world
  27. >Cheers came out from the upper floors as the other Dieties and Gods congratulated him on the success and the new Offerings and Gifts that were blessed to him
  28. >Curiously, Reitia also received an Offering; from a young man living in Italy, who had by sheer coincidence matched wavelengths with her, and began to speak to her and worship her as a means of solace
  29. >She took to the advances of worship gently, giving him some measure of peace in exchange for frequent prayers
  30. >The celebration for her was mostly between me and her; she was one of the new hires after all, it was not often that we lower thoughtforms were given Offerings or even Gifts, most of the time we had to be sustained vicariously through the power of the Gods
  31. >The Offerings continued for a time, and with them small changes began to affect Reitia
  32.
  33. >When she started working here at Pantheon, she was like many other thoughtforms: anthropomorphically 'human'
  34. >But small changes began to take place as more and more offerings began to fall into her lap
  35. >Her ears became fluffier and now sat atop her head, and the vestiges of wings began to form as well
  36. >She was, of course, very self-conscious of this transformation, so much so that she consulted Ebola-chan, one of the nurses who worked in the Pantheon
  37. >Ebola-chan herself was a victim of what was termed 'Memetic Transformation', a condition where the sudden influx of Offerings, Gifts, and Worshipers led to changes in your very form
  38. >At first, Ebola-chan was a mere blood bubble full of her vitriolic plague, but soon transformed into an anime caricature of a young girl becoming one with her disease
  39. >It was very fascinating to watch; same thing with Kek, Pepe, Adolf Hitler, and Spiderman
  40. >Reitia, even with her one Worshiper, was beginning to have this condition, a most curious phenomenon
