- morph (amorphous, metamorphosis, morphology) = form
- multi (multicolored, multilayers) = many (This is the Latin root.)
- nat (native, innate, natal) = birth
- neo (neoclassical, neocolonialism, Neolithic) = new
- nom/nym (nominate, misnomer, pseudonym, anonymous) = name

- nov (November) = nine (At one time the year began in March.)
