English 100%: Main Route Differences

Main differences in English 100% route:

Early game:

- get laundry pool fairy before leaving SCT and doing swamp gossips AE

- Skip magic bean in deku palace, enter the loading zone that brings you to the sonata side of the palace instead

NWBN segment:

- SoDT Mikau Walking CS skip (day 1 --> night 1) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09cIXww2zE4&feature=youtu.be)

- be sure you have more than 120r when you have the last zora egg in pf

Before Stone Tower Temple:

- Catch the fish next to anju when you do midnight meeting

- do NOT catch the fairy in stone tower temple, instead drop and catch the fish you caught at midnight meeting for timestop. This seems slow at first, but you use this fish later to perform deku princess cs skip which saves about 10s, so you end up saving about 4s overall. You will be able to catch up to 5 fish after beavers.

Stone Tower Temple:

- do this map room early strat to save chus (it's also FASTER on BOTH JP and ENG so do it regardless of saving chus): (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSsziJ6coBo&feature=youtu.be) saves around 5s easily, could save more optimally. For example, you could do an isg weirdshot or you could get damage isg off of the real chu instead of getting isg with a bomb at the start of the room.

- when you bomb the switch to make the stray fairy chest appear next to the beamos, voiding in the water will skip the cutscene of the chest appearing

- after flipping STT, get the magic bean chest and bombchu chest (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26yzwPTeCME)
* it takes 15 chus to hover to bean chest, but the chu chest has 10 chus. This means you have a net loss of 5 chus, so you have 5 chus fewer than you would in JP, so I recommend doing isg megas for hover in woodfall and for hover to scarecrow HP to save chus (isg megas are faster anyway)

- STT/woodfall/double magic segment chu route: http://pastebin.com/0xndb3Sq (this paste also contains a video for a strat to save a chu in STT map room, the route assumes you don't do petrie flip which would save an additional 3 chus)

- after woodfall temple, do deku princess cs skip with fish (saves about 10s)

After Double Magic:

- after rolling down the ramp in snowhead, void to appear next to snowhead owl (saves about 4s over rolling the entire way to the owl, if you void too soon you appear outside of fairy fountain so be safe and make sure you roll far enough before voiding)

- after recoil flip past ice in termina field, you cannot quickly charge a spike roll on english (the ground here is like snow/sand on jp, but it's like normal ground on english so your goron roll accelerates much more quickly), so instead you can roll down to the dodongos/eenos and charge a spike roll up to the mountain gossips grotto

- first try postman 100% of the time without any setup

- beaver race: good movement is okay on english, if you beat beavers you still win. On jp if your movement is too good, you lose the race if you finish before the beaver

After Beavers

- after beaver race, normally you cannot do the ocarina dive to the like like HP because you cannot use c buttons for a few seconds after exiting the loading zone. However, if you pause and equip ocarina after exiting the loading zone, then you will be able to do the ocarina dive after the unpause.

- after catching the last fish, stay zora (make sure you keep bottle in hand) and use the gossip stone for timestop and play SoDT and then say 'yes' while entering the zora hall loading zone to day reset to Day 2, this allows you to do SoDT pirate cs skip which saves about 18s over timestop pcs (overall, this saves ~12s since you lose some time to storing sodt)

- do song of double time pirate cs skip

Great Bay Temple:

- wart fight is faster if you do JS strat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1XqWRgjodw) because English does not have power crouch stabs

- fight gyorg with zora barrier because no power crouch stab, this only loses about 12s compared to JP

After Double Defense:

- Soar to great Bay for fish HP/torch hp/cliff hp BEFORE you soar to swamp for archery HPs, the reason for this is because you want to get a deku stick from the grass next to the swamp owl and the stick overwrites one of your bottles. We get a deku stick in swamp because you skip buying red potion in clock town so you never enter the trading post.

- in clock town, skip entering trading post (you'll buy a blue potion later in ikana)

After Sakon's hideout:

- buy blue potion from deku scrub before getting HP (note: rupees are a bit tighter because of blue potion costing 100r, you'll probably want both purple rupees when doing dodongo HP)

- keeta skip with weirdshot. Since english has a different second frame weirdshot from JP, english should stand to the left of the flaming chest when doing weirdshot keeta skip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4RNZS2lO-U)

Cycle 3:

- dog hp in english

- SoDT later in secret shrine (before or during wart? the reason for this is because octo shooting takes up more in-game time on english because of slower waves)

- if you can do it consistently, you can go for the JS strat on the wart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1XqWRgjodw)

- english keaton quiz

After Aliens:

- when riding epona into milk road, you can start using carrots right away on english, on JP you have to wait a bit after entering the loading zone to be able to use carrots. This saves a little time for english
