- Hey frens. Its Mega P!ka with the team that I used for the second Ice Core Challenge. I never used ice before, and was kinda bored and wanted to kill some time, so decided to give it a try. Ice, for me, was a fun type, but really hard to use as it has a lot of threats that you can't do much about, and the typing kind of sucks defensively (only ice as resistance).
- The Core for the challenge was Mega-Abomasnow and Weavile. Mega Abomasnow's a good bulky attacker, although its really slow and has a lot of weaknesses, you can almost always get at least one kill with it if played right, but it still puts minimum work in against most weaknesses. Weavile is really good physical attacker to have, it has a nice speed and attack stat, hits hard with life orb, and gets a good stab priority in ice shard.
- Teambuilding process: Since its ice, the first thing I needed was something reliable that can get rid of rocks, so i added Avalugg, the best physical wall you have on ice, which does the job well for me. Next I added eviolite piloswine, which serves as a rock setter and my only switchin to fire attacks. Then I've got froslass, the specs set (shout-out to Anttya for this set, it really works n_n). Its not just for a fighting immunity on the team, it really puts in work against fighting as it is faster than most of them, and hits them hard with psychic; while trick to cripple things like porygon2 and chansey which are difficult to get past (the best part about it is that no one expects it). I chose defensive rotom-frost over Kyu-b as my final mon as I didnt want to auto-lose to Mega metagross, which ohkoes abomasnow and piloswine with meteor mash, 2hkoes avalugg, while ohko-ing Froslass and Weavile with bullet punch. :x

- Threats: As I said before, ice has a ton of threats that you can do little about, but I'll mention the biggest ones and how I deal with them.
- 1. Mega-Metagross: Stab, tough claws boosted meteor mashes and bullet punches off a base 150 attack stat completely destroys ice. The only thing I can do is stall it out with avalugg if I'm lucky enough to get a burn on it with rotom.
- 2. SD scizor/mega scizor: This is another big threat. While Avalugg can handle banded bullet punches, its just a setup bait for the SD variant. Here too, I try to get a burn on it with rotom, or kill it asap if its in HP Fire ko range.
- 3. All offensive fire types (Charizard-mega, Darmanitan, Volcarona, Victini, Infernape to name some): If against them, I tend to set rocks up asap so that they have limited switches, and thus can be played around. Froslass helps as a good spin-blocker, while piloswine can take special fire hits like Blue Flare from a Victini, etc really well.
- 4. All offensive fighting types: Specs froslass with psychic is my best bet against them. If its a potential scarf, like heracross or
- terrakion, I can try to play around it by switching to piloswine or sacking something, then try to pp stall the stone edges with avalugg (not that reliable but theres nothing much that I can do about it).
- So yeah, thats about it. Sorry if i missed something on the threatlist, there are just too many lol.
- Glad that I could break 1500 with ice, considering that it was my first time using it.
