  1. i couldn't even bear to finish this game because there is just nothing special about it anywhere. basically dxhr development went kinda like this: get a good game that was released at a bad time when bioware was still hip and every stupid fanboy could not wait to bash it for being a mass effect rip off (mass effect invented cover shooters with conversations XXXD) called alpha protocol swap every model in it with something that looks worse and give it some primitive mimics that get recycled every 2 conversations release it under a title that will make money because deus ex is epic dude such an intelligent game man fuck original things and bam you've got human revolution. if anything they should have called it deus ex: it's human to steal ideas because you can never shrug off the feeling that it's just a cheaper-graphics version of ap at any point in the game. so anyway since eidos is a game that was involved (at least as a publisher in some cases) in some of my favorite games like thief and to a lesser extent hitman i thought hmmmmmm i'm sure the sneaking in this game is top notch i can't wait to go garrett on their asses. unfortunately eidos decided to stay true to the original in many ways such as having a completely retarded ai. in the very first mission in fact i jumped into a box prop that an enemy was searching and the dumb motherfucker still didn't spot me. okay so after establishing that i'm going the stealth route i started noticing what would normally be the hardest way to play the game could probably be the easiest one because there's A FUCKING MAPHACK IN THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN. whoa i thought is that what stealth means in this game watch little cursors on a screen as they look the other way?

  9. oh yeah i got some preorder weapons at the start of the game including some silenced sniper rifle but i dropped all of that shit to the ground immediately and kept a pretty much empty inventory for most of the game because i chose to neither shoot, stun or perform takedowns on enemies seeing how the game is already easy as it is. so i get this prompt saying that i should take cover and im like ok let me press the button for cover so my guy hugs and the wall and HOLY SHIT IT'S ANOTHER FUCKING MAPHACK. i immediately went to the options screen to unbind the key for cover system because no sir i neither like having godmode or being able to scan a room without taking any risk whatsoever. so after taking some effort to make the game look more like the original i set off to beat the first mission and i have to hand it to eidos i did not think you could make a first mission more boring than liberty island from the first game. anyway i finally beat the linear part of the game (btw i let the hostages die hahahahahahahahahaaaaa) and was ready to do some fn sidequests dog namean? so i did some of those and i looted a few local apartments out of pure spite for humanity and i thought to myself wow now i feel i'm playing VTMB this is a good sign. i pawned all the weapons ammo and otherwise combat-oriented equipment and bought some praxis points that upgrade the unholy blight upon the body made by God in his image that is augmentations. so i looked around the augmentations and from what i saw it's mostly run of the mill upgrades for your character, can make him more tough, give him sharper aim, make him hack better, lift heavier objects etc. to which i reacted with not much more than an uh ok. all i did all game was upgrade my hacking skills because having avoided every single enemy in the game i found no need for combat enhancers, not even takedown upgrades as i didn't use those either.

  13. at some point i just forgot about the whole system completely and started hoarding points because nothing was very useful.

  15. anyway the vtmb-like part ended abruptly when i was assigned a flight to china. i must admit the "city upon a city" design was really interesting but the game kinda went downhill. it was just a few big maps connected to each other with a lot of npc's yapping about their opinions on transhumanism. oh yeah i should also mention that hr's setting is not as interesting as dx's because dx was all of this conspiracy within a conspiracy bullshit maximum overload that looking back was pretty stupid but somehow interesting but all hr gives you is this opinion battle between "yea augmentation p cool we future now" and "God has created you in his image, why would you play with his perfect creations like that?" (the latter statement is true). oh yeah there was a forced boss battle with this fat guy i just threw mines and explosive barrels at him it was pretty lame. also remember to have fun you need to unbind the cover key. so as i said i ditched the whole generic cover shooter shit completely and just walked around without any weapons (save for my fists and and the unholy murder blade inside my arms thankfully i stayed pure and never used either of those) until this one place got raided by these heavily armored shock troopers swinging their miniguns and whatever they were carrying on them and this guy who helped me asked me for a gun to protect himself but guess what? i don't carry any weapons on me fool so what he does is beg me to save him from these walking tank people so i go out there see them in their entrenched positions a few of them approaching me and i think to myself "wait am i supposed to fight now?" so instead i just say fuck it close the game and uninstall it
