  1. I want to talk to you heavily on the infrastructure and hierarchy of a maintenance crew, what they go through, etc

  6. As much as story is secondary to the design of a game, it is important for me at this point to flesh out the background and emotional context of the game so that I know how to produce content and assets for it, as well as trying to work gameplay mechanics with the setting logically.

  11. To give you a quick primer: the mech game I'm prototyping puts you the player in the role of a Mobile Armor (mech) pilot. This mech pilot is part of a team of three pilots and a crew which is in charge of maintenance, communications, and deployment, etc.

  16. So as a designer I need to make sure that the experience conveyed to the player is one of being a part of a larger unit. You're not a hero, you're part of a team. I don't want to establish this world around a basis of ignorance, I want people in positions of experience to this "world" of the military to look at it with a semblance of familiarity. I want people to look at it and go "That makes sense, I can sort of believe this", rather than "This writer doesn't know shit about the military or PMC's"

  21. The story revolves around the exploits of one Mobile Armor "team". So three pilots, maintenance, and communications, etc. Despite the acknowledgement of a need for larger infrastructure, I want this Mobile Armor Team to consist of about 12 or less personalities.
  22. And this team would be a part of the larger PMC or government military, with funding/supplies being run through this larger PMC/Military based on performance etc.

  27. Now, with all that in mind, I'm looking for your feedback and input to help flesh this out. How would this maintenance/deployment team be structured? How does command structure impact the interactions? How does maintenance interact with pilots and communications, change of plans, etc?
