  61. [spoiler=Background]Victor von Ulmen is a simple man, born of simply parents, in a simple land. Growing up on his family's farm, there was little for him to do besides help till the fields, feed the animals, and fight with his siblings. Because of this, however, the man grew up incredibly strong. By the end of his teenage years, he was built like a house, and nearly as wide as one at the shoulders. It was most curious, however, that the rest of his family was not anywhere near as strong as Victor, but he never really questioned it.

  63. For that matter, Victor never questioned a lot of things. Intellect was certainly not one of his strong points, though he was incredibly affable and friendly. Headstrong to the extreme, the young von Ulmen was always getting himself into trouble. That changed a little when after a particularly rowdy night on the town (that is to say, after waking up in a jail cell in irons) he was forced to enlist in Belisaire's army. It was little more than a makeshift militia, but the life of a soldier really spoke to Victor. He found himself thoroughly enjoying his new job, even if it amounted to little more than guard duty and arresting the odd drunk or escaped criminal.

  65. However, eventually the day came when Belisaire had to defend its borders. And there, on the front line, Victor found himself. When the order to charge was given, he took off like a bat out of hell, a one-man path of destruction. Here, the young man found his purpose in life. As he fought brutally and without hesitation, the smiling dervish had an epiphany. Suddenly his left leg was wracked with pain, his his head was flooded with an alien tongue. Falling to the ground in a pile, he shrieked and screamed and wailed in pain. When it finally subsided, he shakily stood, dusted himself off, and realized that despite the fact that he could not walk properly, or even speak in anything but the evil-sounding language that poured forth from his lips, this was not some awful curse. He could feel strength flowing through his body, magic seeping into his very being. He could just tell that it was his duty, his holy crusade, to go forth onto the battlefield and revel in the thrill of mortal combat.

  67. When they finally carried Victor off the field that day, he was covered head-to-toe in the blood of the enemies of Belisaire. Many a man had challenged the limping von Ulmen to single combat, and each was left wounded, but alive. Later, when asked about it, Victor had replied that "a dead enemy could never fight you again." Regardless, since that battle, he lives to fight. His impetuousness seems even worse now, and he has all but stopped advancing through the military hierarchy... but none of this matters to Victor.

  69. He's a happy-go-lucky kind of fellow, always up for a brawl or a beer, and usually both. He loves competition and has ended up sprawled out with many a bruise or a hangover, but his enthusiasm is infectious. They don't even put him in the irons anymore after a rough night, instead lending him a bed to sleep it off in, even if he'd broken more of their stools, tables and windows. The way the man got everyone having a good time was enough... and the stipend the military paid Victor went almost entirely toward these events, so they came out ahead either way.

  71. Now, Victor continues his service as a citizen soldier of Belisaire, more for the money and the chance to fight than for any real loyalty to the city, and he has little idea that death will claim him soon...

  73. With the horrible events of his death fresh in his mind, Victor has been reborn as a vengeful monster, intent on slaking his thirst for battle for the rest of his existence.[/spoiler]

  75. [spoiler=Physical Description]In life, big did not even begin to describe Victor. He was a mountain of a man, every inch of his body covered in powerful muscle. His arms were especially massive, looking almost over-sized compared to the rest of his body. Victor had short, pitch black hair and piercing emerald eyes, and his skin is tanned, though it looks almost red in certain kinds of light.

  77. After his demise, Victor's body has decayed significantly. He appears gaunt, with sunken eyes and boney, clawed hands. His hair clings to his skull, ratty and dirty, and his green eyes have turned crimson red.

  81. [spoiler=Personality]Victor lived for battle, and all of his efforts were to strengthen himself. He reveled in the thrill of combat. He was the first to join the fight, and the last to leave, a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. Off the battlefield, he was always looking for a heroic tale, a cold drink and good friends. However, due to his jovial nature, very few people were aware that Victor speaks in tongues when agitated. On the battlefield, most of his expression was limited to pointing and roaring, and even his closest comrades were only aware that he just doesn't talk when he's emotional.

  83. Victor was not particularly bright, and this has not changed after his passing. He does not usually think plans through, and it tends to get him in trouble. He doesn't particularly mind, though, because there hasn't been a fight he didn't enjoy.

  85. In death, Victor's happy-go-lucky personality has been replaced with a heartless, furious beast. He only works with others out of necessity, and he only truly is content in the midst of battle.[/spoiler]
