  3. Robert Reich walked by the redwood grove again yesterday (3.3.2014). He agrees the trees should be left to grow.

  5. Contact Nick Dirks, the chancellor of UC Berkeley and help save the trees: chancellor@berkeley.edu

  7. Trees and technology don't have to be exclusive to each other. The redwood grove could be a research area for a "smart grove", with sensors to monitor tree growth, moisture levels and acidity of the soil, etc. There are plenty of options combining technological research and trees.

  9. It has been raining this week. It is possible to stand underneath the redwoods during the rain and stay mostly dry.

  11. The redwood grove is at Ridge Road and Le Roy Avenue in Berkeley, California. It is scheduled to be removed for the $20million Paul Jacobs Design Institute, privately funded by Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm. There has been a large public demand that the trees be saved, a sentiment shared by residents, students and faculty. However the UC and Paul Jacobs want to cut down the trees, ignoring the majority opinion that the redwoods should stay.
