- Hi, its 1 True Lycan here bringing you my challenge #5 bug team which peaked #6 on the ladder. I hadn't really used bug much before this challenge, but I knew it was a type based around hyper offense and that is how I wanted to use my bug team as well.
- The CCBu1 core involved Shuckle and Durant. The team is based around Mega Heracross smashing holes in the opposing team and sweeping with one of my other mons, so to that end I have a hazard-setting Shuckle as opposed to the oh-so-annoying shell smash set. If sticky web is not up, Heracross is often too slow to decimate teams effectively, so Durant is a good back-up wallbreaker. I use hone claws Durant because it lets me use hustle as its' ability without much fear of missing. (Although I have lost a few games when I didn't get the chance to hone claws and went on to miss a move sigh). Scarf Genesect is used because U-turn lets me get free switches into my wallbreakers, and it is just a great momentum-grabber in general. It also gets auto-wins against most flying and dragon teams lol. Once the opposing team is sufficiently weakened, I use volcarana to sweep with quiver dance. Shuckle and Volcarona are both weak to stealth rocks, so my final member is armaldo (rapid spin slave). Armaldo has rock blast over stone edge so that it can punish mons thinking they can sub up on it.

- Perhaps the worst matchup for this team is fairy. This is mainly because of two mons: Mega Diancie and Azumarill. Azumarill can easily sweep this team if it has a belly drum up, so the best way to stop this is to not let it belly drum :[. I often catch them with encore shuckle, forcing them to waste their sitrus berry when they think they can get a free set up. Diancie is another huge threat, but it can be dealt with in a number of ways. If the opponent foolishly lets me get sticky web up, then Diancie is no longer a threat since all my relevant pokemon outspeed and KO it. Aside for that, Armaldo can live a hit and KO with earthquake + aqua jet. Genesect can also surprise it with flash cannon. The best way to beat fairy is to sweep with Volcarona before the opponent has a chance to set up. Lum berry ensures Klefki can't ruin the sweep with thunder wave.
- Max speed balloon Heatran is very threatening because it is faster than mega heracross and KOs the rest of the team pretty easily. Armaldo can take a flash cannon and damage it with rock blast + aqua jet. Also, once its balloon is broken, Volcarona can sweep most steel monos with relative ease. Fire monos are just an uphill battle in general but I had the good fortune of not facing many in my laddering exploits.
- Easily the biggest threat to this team is scarf staraptor. This thing is a monster and grabs a kill every time it comes in. The flying menace was the catalyst to my decline from #6 (Faced Psyzen's scarf raptor flying team 3 times. Lost all three but thankfully he timed out in one of them kek). My only hope of beating it is armaldo, and perhaps a +1 speed tie with volcarona.
- So, I would like to thank you for reading this, and until next time (if there is one), peace!
