- I can see the reasons for naming charizard as the most overrated pokemon, but I still have one on my competitive team as an opener. The right nature and EV training, paired with moves that cause status conditions (mine is female and has attract), it is still quite useful. To me, the most overrated pokemon are the legendaries. All of them. I've only had one legendary as part of my team, and that was mewtwo back in gen 1. Since then, they've sat in my PC as trophies. I've never been one to judge new pokemon by their designs, and I really like the new ones introduced in gen 6. The only gen 5 pokemon I wasn't fond of were the starters, mostly because they felt like carbon copies of past gen starters with new faces glued on. Shiny pokemon are another overrated group. Since gen 2, they have not had any benefit aside from being rare. I'm still happy to collect them and show them off, but i only have 2 that are actually suitable for the competitive field due to careful breeding and random chance. I'm sure I'm going to draw a lot of hate for my thoughts, but I'm ok with that. It's just my opinion. Feel free to reply with your own thoughts. I'm happy to hear what other people think.
- Charizard may be weak at hands of a bad trainer my charizard has 300 hp and 278 attack 258 speed
- charizard sucks? lol its the trainer that sucks xD lol. Charizard=OP teach it substitute/bellydrum/return/aerial ace give it a salac berry GG its over
- i freakin love gardevoir give it two megas and miltank.yo mama so fat her splash attack does dammage!missingo missingo missingo!mmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww my favourite pokemon!so cute i just wish pichu was real.eeveelution gimegime and flareon should be team flares signature pokemon.how could you say that about starters.charizard dont you say a word you shiting brat!
- Swampert decent at best? Please, it's got 1 type weakness and is immune to electricity. It's a fucking tank. And you're really going to compare starters to legendary pokemon like Entei and Suicune? They're legendary for a reason. I'm not saying you're wrong in that starters can be outclassed easily, but some of your supporting arguments are ridiculous and should be thrown out.
- I will say it's a bit cheaty to use legendaries as examples of pokemon better than your starters. Especially as you will often find most people have a "no legendaries" house rule.
- HEY I HAVE A GRAVEYARD FULL OF BONES TO PICK WITH YOU IN MY SOUL SILVER GAME I BEAT THE ELITE 4 AND THE CHAMPION AND RED WITH A TYPHLOSION CHARIZARD BLAZIKEN AND FLAREON YES I KNPW THAT IS ONLY 4 POKEMON THAT IS BECAUSE I TRAINED THEM AND THEY ARE BOSS
- Okay hold on,how is just AHHH?!Blatoise Gets Hydro Cannons on his back,Charizard Gets wings on his back,Venusaur gets a FREAKING FLOWER ON HIS BACK AND THAT MAKES HIM STRONG!!!Not even his Mega Evolution is good,Blastoise earns Arm Cannons,Charizard earns Blue Fire or one more horn,Venusaur earns A PATTERN ON HIS FOREHEAD AND SOME VINES!!!Venusaur SUCKS!!!Blastoise and Charizard are WAY better!
- Aww come on in the comparison screen your not even comparing them apples to apples ex. Thyphlosion is a SPECIAL attacker entei is a PHYSICAL attacker of course enteis going to be superior its a LEGENDARY dumbfuck at least compare two pokemon who have the same competative uses and base stats genius try comparing them the same next time asshat
- charizard is more of a leading party nuke in my eyes blasting apart as many pokemon with its atack and spechial attack combined with its high speed stat, my first pokemon was charmander on firered for the game boy color(or just game boy cant remember) anyway I did glorify charizard a lot when I was younger but you got to realize he or she is not meant to be a "" uber pokemon "ill kill your whole party"
- sorta monster.
- Your information on Pichu seems a little ignorant, Pichu doesn't have to be useful to need to exist in the "Pokemon world" the appearance of Pichu is a completely different atmosphere when seen in movies and shows for kids and the world to fall in love with and enjoy. Games happen to be the second trivial part of what is the world of Pokemon, let the world grow as it is, and be enjoyed for what they are with each individual Pokemon bringing something new to table. And Pichu was not replaced because he was useless, if you know the Smash games in general there are always new designs and Pokemon being brought to the table. In the latest game many Mewtwo fans were hoping he would return but instead we now get to play with the new Greninja. Please I know you have opinions about how you feel about Pokemon and love to talk about it with others but you have to be factual as well and not just speak from your heart when it comes to things that might not be how it really is or appears.
- What the hell do not talk fucking crap about charizard or eevee or anything I do not care #truepokefan .and you compared starters to freaking legendaries
- sorry but i try to use all kind of pkm not only OU cause for me is easy to pla pkm online and watch the techniques and copy them into the game, i try to use rare pkm and i can use those 'useless' pkm
- Charizard is my favourite pokemon. AND I AM NOT A GENWUNNER! I WAS BORN IN GEN 4! Oh and why does everyone like talonflame and don't say its bad. Oh and SHUT UP ABOUT IT BEING overrated. Oh I can think of and overrated pokemon, like maybe Metagross or Umbreon and of course SCEPTILE. So who cares?! We like them and thats what matters. Oh whatever I'm a weirdo.
- Charizard isnt overrated, if any pokemon should be number one based on what you say qualifies as most overrated it should be pikachu. Charizard is the best fire starter being able to take out all of its following starters with either the flying aspect or ability to use ground moves. It also has very high speed and special atrack so it will hit you first and hard. With its good attack and decent defense it will take out any dragon type, plus what other non legendary pokemon can go toe to toe with a legendary. It definetly deserves to be as far from overrated as possible, the only people who say it is are haters. ( fans in denile ) and just wanna fight something
- charizard is not weak my charizard beat a blastoise that was the same level as it and it was my friends blastoise venusaur is not that strong if you go on the pokemon website it shows that charizard actually has the best stats from the three
- Charizard rocks and you obviously don't know what stealth rock is. If charizard moves first before stealth rock then he wins you only chose one scenario where he could lose. We know all fire types are weak against rock why does that make charizard overrated because he is a fire type?
- people underestimate grass types because of it's grass-ness but they don't realize that they can defeat water types, who can beat the "strongest" type, fire.
- what? people liked charizard because hes a fucking bad ass Dragon. and you're saying he sucks in competitive because he gets owned by stealth rocks? i havent played or watched competitively in a while, but doesnt rapid spin get rid of spikes and rocks? his damage is still very strong against a lot.
- I trained my charizard and it does not get crushed by any rock moves it eats it up and it can take electric attacks as well but if I did not train it so hard it would probably take a lot of damage
- Overrated pokemon and preferences are two different things though. I like to think it's imagination that makes pokemon fun, and getting too analytical about stats and stuff can be sort of a mood kill. You're right though, a Charizard may be useless, but it is the desire of the consumer that determines its true value and clearly it's valued greatly by most fans. To each their own. I like Ninetales.
- Charizard is also a pokemon that can dominate any okemon in the games. Look at it, When we played red and blue, we probably used our charizard to take out many gym leaders and elite four. Charizard wasn't meant for competitive battling anyway, it is supposed to be one of the mascots of the pokemon franchise. Charizard is only used in game, not competitively, so charizard isn't really so overrated. And what does the size matter? look at a lot of other pokemon that are strong, and you will see
- I find your lack of research disturbing... Stats do NOT make a good Pokemon. Look at Spiritomb versus Delibird... And interestingly, what bothered me the most out of that whole video was how you called Magnamite useless. It's a steel/electric type that levitates, meaning it's only real weaknesses are to fighting and fire, most of which are slower than it. On top of that, Magnamite can learn Lock On and Zap Cannon by simply leveling up. NO OTHER ELECTRIC TYPE DOES THAT!!1!!overexcitement!!
- (next one regards arceus)
- It got a huge fan base in heart gold soul silver because of its ability to get a lvl 1 plakia, giritina, or dialga allowing a person to create a super ev version of them.
- HOW DARE YOU SAY LEAFEON IS WEAK OR ALL THE EEVEELUTION ONLY IF YOU TAKE TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE POWER OF THE EEVEE!!!!!!! TRY TO GET A FULL TEAM OF EEVEELUTIONS AND YOU WILL REGERT ABOUT SAYING EEVEE AND ITS EVOLUTION ARE OVERRATED!!!!
- Until dragon pulse came around, I can only remember seeing one dragon-type move that was actually worthy of being a dragon-type move, and that was Outrage, a move that so far I have only seen on Rayquaza. You could count Dragon Claw, but that move only barely makes a passing grade.
- Well i honestly don't really agree with this list. Must of the time you are comparing stats, sure they are important for the growing of a Pokemon along with natures and EV and IV, but thats not the whole point some people like Pokemon for designs or for their stats. But hey that is your opinion anyway
- For me and most pokemon fans your right its nostalgia.... but not many people battle pokemon online due to massive amount of people (these Japanese stealth rock fanatics) that take the game as serious as an FPS with competition. Your showing pics of cable battles and using nostalgia as a hit point when those people like me (born in 95 first game was Crystal, watched the show like Pikachu was Jesus with thundah cheecks) have little to no interest in battling a Japanese kid with crazy strategies
- creating living pokemon by choosing objects in the real world as models(for example icecream, cherrys, a bag of trash...how stupid is that) just shows that the pokemon designer desperately search for the next generation pokemon for whatever it takes. I wouldn't wonder to see an Iphone pokemon in the future. After all I stopped playing pokemon further than smaragd(this game was awesome). Till then the design are overall ok
- By the way, Pokemon isn't good for you, guys. The people who make it hardly have any interest what your life will be like in the future and hardly care what problems you face today.
- You're extremely bias to Charizard you can say what you want from Stats. But It has a wide variety of attacks more than the majority of other pokemon. Fire, flying, steel, fighting, ground, dragon and normal. I'll name some of my personal fav's: Earthquake, Blast burn, Ariel Ace, Seismic toss, Dragon Breath. All pretty strong or with bonus effects. And lining him up to newer pokemon is dumb. Just because its clear, new has to better. And other pokemon to legendary's is out of the question.
- Adding on when Charizard starts off a battle and has high speed it's a huge destructive power.Take your best poke team compete with a stranger no potions or trading out pokemon, that's a true battle. If you know your opponents team its pretty obvious you'll take a specific pokemon team. There will always be a stronger pokemon too. Charizard is as popular by some of the reasons why you said but never compare 1 gens to newer gen's. Look it's stats to its fellow gen pokemon. It was a powerhouse.
- "Charizard is weak of stone pokemons" thats why you are accessable to have 6 pokemon with you so you can switch? And the thing about Grimer and Muk, they never been choosed cause they was awefull in Gen 1. They was sorted as poison types but they doesnt had any poison attacks exept Toxic wich is really crap, it doesnt give poison either.
- I'm gonna breed the strongest magikarp and beat people up, watch me >:c
- you didn't count in strategies with this list when you included in with the starters and in fact charizard. I admit stealth rock can be annoying with charizard but can easily be negated. Like the fact that a simple berry to nullify the super effectiveness of that move. Or maybe the fact that charizard and other starters can learn some of the strongest moves in the game. I understand your point of view on some of them, but the fact that you didn't look more deeply into this makes the list sad.
- I strongly disagree with No. 1. Sure, it has a 4x weakness to rock. Loads of other Pokemon have 4x weaknesses as well. The way you're putting it it's like you're saying every single person you battle against will use Stealth Rock. And a lot of people who like Charizard really don't care about it's power, or lack of. I'm not into competitive battling or anything like that. I love Charizard because of it's design.
- Now hang on, Just because you guys think Charizard may be useless against "Stealth Rocks", how come my Charizard survived 4 of those attacks and still kicking? lol. My Charizard even destroyed a Blastoise with fly in a one hit wonder.
- You're wrong. #1: Mewtwo. Before anyone get a gun and shoots me dead, let me explain. He had exceptional stats and powerful moves, but it lacks accuracy. I was playing my freind and he brought out his Mewtwo. I'd been training up my Zubat (yes, Zubat) and it was level 30. Mewtwo was level 89. Mewtwo used fire blast and missed, and I used supersonic. Mewtwo took down around 200 of his points out of his own life points, and then killed himself (it was my freinds final pokemon).
