The last, true hero in the McArthur family, Grandma McArthur is a now a respectable old granny who dotes
on her grandchildren. That she still has muscles of steel, and can kill a room full of men with her axe
doesn't mean she isn't ready to enjoy her well deserved retirement! Grandma has always watched over Riley
ever since she was small. She has been her battlemaster, teacher and one of the only people who could put
a stop to young Riley when she flew off the rails. Canny and coy, Grandma much prefers to play the senile
and sweet old lady she'd like to be these days - no that things always work out how she wants them to!

=== Ryan McArthur (papa) ===

Not a 'hero' in the way the McArthur family understands the term, Ryan had the dubious honour of being
Grandma McArthur's only child. His upbringing consisted of being dragged from place to place, put in
harms way and rescued more than once. Without any knack or aptitude for daring do, Ryan turned to the
only thing he did have: his mind. Underneath his genuinely jovial exterior is a master planner and a
genius tactician. Seemingly always prepared (and quick to say he is even when he isn't), Ryan took
Riley on a lot of adventurers before she was old enough to do it on her own. In a lot of ways, he
coddled her (even when she thought she was doing things by herself!) but it's not something a loving
father could help.

Riley's mother, and neither a hero nor adventurer, there's no mistake: Jessica is where Riley gets her
superhuman physicality from. Something in her family's bloodline is stronger, faster and meaner than any
man - and that's carried down over the years. With a truly volcanic temper when riled, Jessy is kept calm
and sweet in part thanks to her husband's diligence. Having never received anything like Riley's training,
Jessica isn't what you'd call a skilled warrior however. But she is a superlative housewife! Something that
can be observed at the McArthur farm. Which is, after all, still standing and in good order despite the
apocalypse.
