- Camerupt (M) @ Cameruptite
- Ability: Solid Rock
- Level: 50
- EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
- Quiet Nature
- IVs: 0 Spe
- - Heat Wave
- - Earth Power
- - Hidden Power [Ice]
- - Protect
- Once TR goes up, it Heat Waves everything or Earth Powers the shit out of anything thinking about using Wide Guard (Namely Hitmontop and Aegislash). HP Ice for Landorus and Salamence. Kind of sad I don't see Garchomp anymore though. Very simple EV spread for a pokemon with a simple goal.
- Gothitelle @ Mental Herb
- Ability: Shadow Tag
- Level: 50
- EVs: 244 HP / 12 SpA / 252 SpD
- Sassy Nature
- IVs: 0 Spe
- - Trick Room
- - Heal Pulse
- - Helping Hand
- - Psyshock
- I've been recently told that Mental Herb isn't that great, but every time I see a Thundurus, I lead with Gothitelle and they always Taunt without exception. Pretty much attracts the Taunters and Gothitelle's partner (depending on the taunter) can 2HKO or OHKO it before it causes too much trouble. As long as I get Trick Room up, everything goes smoothly (unless I see an Amoonguss or Breloom...that's kind of hellish). EV spread is to survive Modest Choice Specs Draco Meteor from Hydreigon, which means it can tank very many special attacks.
- Greninja (M) @ Focus Sash
- Ability: Protean
- Level: 50
- EVs: 52 Atk / 204 SpA / 252 Spe
- Naive Nature
- - Grass Knot
- - Gunk Shot
- - Ice Beam
- - Protect
- My main way to deal with Rain Teams. Grass Knot gets rid of Swampert, can nail Suicune on the switch-in, and Gunk Shot takes care of Ludicolo. If I don't lead with Gothitelle, I lead Greninja with Hariyama/Landorus to get offensive pressure on opposing TR teams. Greninja does falter against Steel-Types as a result and if I lead with something other than Gothitelle, I generally don't bring in Camerupt, which sort of creates a problem against Steel types. I've thought about running Competitive Milotic. My match-up against Rain goes up a little, M-Salamence/Landorus doesn't become a huge issue, and better staying power at the cost of coverage and slight offensive pressure. What do you guys think? Focus Sash is just to ensure I get the attack I need off.
- Hariyama (M) @ Assault Vest
- Ability: Guts
- Level: 50
- EVs: 252 HP / 140 Atk / 56 Def / 60 SpD
- Brave Nature
- - Close Combat
- - Knock Off
- - Rock Slide
- - Fake Out
- Gothitelle leads with Hariyama if I see Kangaskahn, and creates a guessing game for my opponent. Fake out the Hariyama, and Trick Room goes up, setting up a potential OHKO on Kangaskahn or severely damage its partner. Fake out the Gothitelle and Hariyama will OHKO Kangakahn first turn or hamper its partner. Knock Off is for Aegislash on first turn or the turn after King's Shield. Rock Slide for Charizard-Y since Hariyama can tank a Heat Wave. Fake out is standard.
- Sylveon (F) @ Life Orb
- Ability: Pixilate
- Level: 50
- EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
- Modest Nature
- - Hyper Voice
- - Shadow Ball
- - Psyshock
- - Protect
- This used to be a Ferrothorn to OHKO Fairies not named M-Mawile, but Sylveon gives me an extra Trick Room Sweeper if I don't choose to bring Camerupt or it gets KO'ed. I went with Life Orb to let me use Protect without losing any notable OHKOs (as far as I know). I chose Modest Nature to outspeed Amoonguss outside Trick Room to get a Psyshock, but it doesn't KO anyways. Still nice to have both in and out Trick Room.
- Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
- Ability: Intimidate
- Level: 50
- EVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
- Adamant Nature
- - Earthquake
- - U-turn
- - Knock Off
- - Rock Slide
- Used to be a Salamence, but I ran a Choice Scarf Naive variant that used Rock Slide. Most of the time, I pressed Rock Slide with Salamence and it wasn't very effective. So Landorus fills the role of an Intimidate/Spread attacker with more efficiency. Speed is to outrun M-Manectric with Choice Scarf, which lets me invest a little in HP. Hasn't disappointed very often. Leads with Hariyama to soften physical attacks for it while leading with Greninja gives me more offensive pressure.
- Checks/Counters:
- -Amoonguss
- Amoonguss creates trouble because it is a natural TR counter. Heat Wave from M-Camerupt doesn't OHKO, which lets Amoonguss Spore it or its partner. Generally a nuisance for my team if it hasn't faced prior damage.
- -Azumarill/Raichu lead
- These two by themselves aren't that much trouble, but I'm pretty much forced to play defensively when put together, letting Azumarrill set-up Belly Drum or Raichu disable one or more of my team members. It's really hard to play around since Camerupt is hampered by Azumarill.
- -Aegislash
- Weakness Policy variants are generally giving me trouble. Camerupt doesn't outright KO it with Heat Wave and Earth Power is a 2HKO and Weakness Policy lets it 2HKO Camerupt.
- There are some other pokemon that give me trouble, but these are the most pressing checks/counters.
