  1. Chapter 6: I Finally Understand What I Am
  2.
  3. Akito's smirk lived on her face for a few moments until Rordan's hand let go. His sapphire business suit was sparkling in the sunlight; she could swear that she could see herself in it. Rordan offered a hand to Akito which she accepted happily, her mind shouting in protest.
  4.
  5. “I'm so glad to see you again Darling.” He said with a short rub to her back, his fingernails digging into it. She winced at the sudden swift motion and followed him to the men's restroom, smiling the way. He pressed his palm onto the handle and held it there for a moment. Soon he opened the door to the restroom and walked through, shielding his eyes. As Akito entered, she wished she had.
  6.
  7. The sun blinded her cat like eyes as she entered the new world. The golden rays washing over a deep lake, the sunbeams coolly reflecting across the water. The still water does not ripple, waver, or move as they enter. All seemed still under the glass like floor, other than a few surfacing bubbles that banished themselves after a few moments. Rordan lead Akito to the grand standing castle. Its aqua appearance reminded her of the deep blue of the sea, it swayed with the winds currents. When the trekking was finally over, they had reached the entrance to the small fortress.
  8.
  9. The front door was not would one would expect on a castle, such as a drawbridge, but on the glistening wall was a six foot by six foot door for entry. Rordan waved a hand before it and the door seemed to slide across the air with his will alone. No sound was made as it was opened, the door just slid open as it revealed a deep void like area. Akito found herself walking willingly into the void, a fixated smile planted on her face. Her mind sobbed as she willingly thrust herself into the darkness.
  10.
  11. As the darkness swallowed her into pure umbra she could feel her mind regain control. The silent door slid back into place as she turned to face her one known entrance. When the door closed reality closed around it, as if nothing but a wall was there before. Then the wall bent, a foot protruding from it. Soon the wall parted slightly, letting the body of Rordan enter the room. He straightened his tie as he approached Akito. As he advanced, he raised his right hand and opened it to drop a liquid onto the floor. Akito's enhanced hearing could hear the dribbling of the liquid in the room, her cat like eyes helping her see the room more easily.
  12.
  13. She covered her eyes before they could scan the room, a sun like light appearing above her. It did not burn her eyes as she gazed at it, but she felt like it was limiting her night vision. She squinted her eyes as she looked at the light, trying to figure out what it was. It seemed that the light itself was a glowing liquid of some kind.
  14.
  15. “That, Darling, is reflected sunlight.” Rordan's calm tone of voice called to her. Her head turned to him swiftly, daggers in her eyes. Rordan motioned for her to come to him, or at least she got that feeling from the darkness. To her luck, however, more light sunk into the room and revealed the man's hiding place. He was sitting on a beach chair, a small porcelain table between himself and the other empty chair. Akito took this as a strong hint and sat across from him.
  16.
  17. “So what is he calling himself these days?” Rordan asked as glasses of water, or what she hoped was water, materialized before the two. Rordan picked up his glass slowly and sipped at the drink, looking to her for answers.
  18.
  19. “Who are you speaking of?” She asked in an impatient tone, her true feelings of fear being hidden from him. She tried to not think as well, remembering his mind reading abilities.
  20.
  21. “You were just in his...home. Please tell me he has at least been much more polite these years.”
  22.
  23. “Oh, you mean M?” Rordan stopped and placed his glass down and chuckled lightheartedly. Hi golden eyes tracing over her for a moment.
  24.
  25. “Oh really? He has reverted his elegant name to a single letter.” He raises his hands above his head in a mid-stretch, smiling widely to her.
  26.
  27. “Looks like we got a badass around here.” He said before sitting up in his reclined chair.
  28.
  29. “Now, to our actual business. First of all I must regrettably apologize for my former action. You do remember don't you? When I asked for a sexual service and so on.” His eyes focus on her widening ones. The sheer shock of his apology dumbfounding her. The man that was going to effectively rape her said he was sorry?
  30.
  31. “Wait...you what? You're sincerely sorry for your pompous attitude and your massive rudeness?” He nods once, his smile dying at the very thought of his past action. He raised his right hand and placed it onto his heart.
  32.
  33. “I swear to you, My Child, that I will give you a former apology when we have completed our matter.” Akito tilted her head to the right, her guard falling as she showed him emotion.
  34.
  35. “My Ch...” She began to say before he made a swift motion with his left hand. Its four digits clasping onto its thumb, Akito's mouth shutting behind her will.
  36.
  37. “Now first of all I would like to explain what you are exactly. I know Amelia wants to to know that you're only a familiar and that you're meant to serve her.” He said as his eyes refocus on hers, and hers on his.
  38.
  39. “Not only are you a familiar, but you're also mine.” Akito felt as if her heart stopped. Will she have to serve him? Assist him? Do what he asked for in the past? She shuddered in the chair as her eyes darted about for an escape plan.
  40.
  41. “Do not take this the wrong way, My Child, like M my world has rules I must abide by as well.” He said as his hands loosened their grips on her. Akito decided to listen to him speak instead of interrupting.
  42.
  43. “He has to see his hopes and dreams that he can not achieve, but I have to tell all of those who enter something...important about me.” He looked down for a moment, a sense of embarrassment crossing his form.
  44.
  45. “I'm sorry for these formalities, I don't normally pull this.” He says as he adjusts himself in his seat. His eyes darting about the vastly dark space, as if he was searching for assistance. He let out a long sigh before continuing.
  46.
  47. “Well, first of all this is one of the few times I get visitors...” He says holding out the 'S' for a slight while longer than average. Akito's eyes narrow as she stares at him.
  48.
  49. “How could you be so...timid around me like this? You almost rapped me and now you act like a cowering child before me?” She asked with subjective bewilderment. His eyes hardened slightly, a mix of embarrassment and anger crossing his facial tone.
  50.
  51. “I am trying to make the fact that you're part of my family now a smaller fact than it actually is.” He says in his defense. Akito seemed unappeased, her tail dancing about the space behind her.
  52.
  53. “I sort of realized that when you called me 'My Child'.” She says with finger quotes, Rordan's face draining of emotion as he instantly becomes bored with the situation.
  54.
  55. “I am the thirty-second demon in all of creation named Gaap by my creator, I invented water along with its forms, I love all humans beyond compare to my brothers and...” He lets that hang into the air for a moment as Akito's eyes widen.
  56.
  57. “I invented familiars, which is why you're my child now Akito.” Akito's form was stilled by time, her own eyes looking over this hulk of power. Fear rushed her form as she finally drank the information. She stood abruptly and rushed away from him. Gaap laughed loudly, the sound echoing as Aktio's heart danced inside of her. She could feel a soft song from the darkness and advanced from it. A rush of water passed her feet, a multitude of hands thrusting from the pool beneath her.
  58.
  59. “Now onto the question I have for you.” Gaap said as he advanced to her, light filling up the room. The stone walls soon let her gaze onto their earthen hue, sunlight pouring from a hole in the roof of the cell. She saw bars, locks, chains and devices of all kinds. She was in a jail, the jail of a demon. The hands groped across her form and soon restrained her, holding her still. Her face contorting into that of a frightened animal and she let out a snarl she never knew she could do. Her arms slammed onto the pool below her.
  60.
  61. “Fine you Master of Puddles! Tell...” She spat out before water welled up around her head, chocking her. Her arms struggled in her restraints, trying to avert the water over her head.
  62.
  63. “You ungrateful, unfortunate soul.” Gaap's booming voice echoed as the water forced her mouth open, the water filling her lungs slowly. The water soon evaporated inside of her, Akito gasped and panted in the pool under her. She laid back and tried to regain her strength.
  64.
  65. “I want to know if you like to serve Amelia. Do you wish to continue your performance with her? She protected you when I pretended to aggravate you so she has promise.” He said before sitting with his legs crossed, about a foot away from her.
  66.
  67. “You’re my child now; fathers have to take care of their children when they are doing idiotic things.” He said in a softer tone than before, his arms sinking through the water to hug her, caressing her form gently and in a nonsexual way. She smiled a little at this, the comforting nature making her feel slightly more at peace. She gathered her thoughts and continued to struggle for a few moments before he let go. Gaap sighed slightly.
  68.
  69. “Oh come now, I have granted you an advantage to me. You know my true name.” Akito's eyes squinted at him, she felt as if her silent treatment was making him uneasy. To prevent another possible drowning she spoke.
  70.
  71. “What does your name have to do with anything? I could just call you by Ga....AAA...” She said as she struggled with the name. Gaap chuckled and rubbed her ears, Akito purring in a dreamlike state.
  72.
  73. “My children can not call my real name, but you can use it against me. The true name of a demon is like your triggers. If my name is used with a seal I could be controlled by any person that held it.” Akito began to ponder where she could get one of those seals.
  74.
  75. “I would suggest you don't even think of that Akito, I can end your existence with a thought. I also let you become a familiar when Amelia did the ritual, so in truth I am your savior.” Akito starred at this...thing before her. She could not accept that he granted her any salvation; his heart seemed to be blacker than anything to her. She stopped thinking when Gaap sneered at her, probably for her thoughts.
  76.
  77. “I have been waiting Dear. I need to attend to Thirty-Seven, please tell me if you like it with her.” He said in a calming tone, his form reclining away from her as he gives her some of the space she needs to think. She ponders for a few moments, wondering if the triggers she put in have made Amelia a bad person. She raises her head slightly higher than before.
  78.
  79. “Well I do owe her a debt of my life and she has grown on me for the past two weeks. She is harsh but not in a cruel way.” She shrugs in an awkward manner, her ears pointing as her tail waved through the water.
  80.
  81. “I don't see a problem with serving her at the moment.” With that emotion drained from Gaap's face, his fists tightening as he looked down at her.
  82.
  83. “So you desire to serve a human with no contract? Nothing to bring you back to me?” He asked in a frantic tone, arching his back as he gritted his teeth.
  84.
  85. “Woah woah woah! You never informed me of this! Nor has Amelia but if we stay civil...” As she said that Gaap slammed his hands into the ground. Metal chains slithered along the ground and air, inching to Akito.
  86.
  87. “Her triggers must have been too deep this time. I refuse for you to become another Mark. I will have to restrain you here for now. Until you realize your faults, that is.” He sighed, disappointment crossing his face. The chains soon linked themselves on her form, dancing over her until her limbs were restrained.
  88.
  89. “Hey! Let me go of this, we can talk this out. Maybe you can use some diplomacy on her or something.” Gapp raised his hand, shutting Aktio's mouth as the water evaporated from existence.
  90.
  91. “I have attempted to deal with her before and my children were never happy. I refuse diplomacy at the moment, but I will ponder. Don't speak to the birds.” He says before advancing to one of the walls of the rounded jail cell. Akito noticed that most of the earthen rock was sun-bleached. The rock sphere was too high for her to climb out, about thirty feet tall and wide, and she could not see any spot to really grab onto. She was chained on the northern side of the sphere, so the sun was not the biggest of her problems.
  92.
  93. “No! Rordan don't do this to me!” Deaf ears heard her plight as Gaap exited the sphere, walking through the wall like it was just air to him. She shouted and raved for a few hours, despising the thought of this entrapment. Tears fell from her grieving eyes as she thought of a life with that thing. Freedom seemed to be nonexistent and then, she heard the chirping of birds.
