The ZombieHunter115 Controversy

The Start

Call of Duty wiki user, ZombieHunter115, joined the wiki on June 22, 2011 by making an edit to the forum “Goriest Moment in a Campaign”. On July 14th of the same year, he became involved with his first big edit war on the page “Numbers (level)/Trivia”.

First Signs of Trouble

On August 3rd, 2011, ZH115 was warned by an Admin, Conqueror of all Zombies, to stop messing with quotes on certain pages. ZH thought this meant he was no longer welcome on the wiki, but CoaZ soon cleared things up with him.

For the most part, things were quiet for awhile. On October 3, 2011 however, ZH115 created a blog post stating simply “Should I just quit?”

“Everything I do on this wiki always seems to end up going wrong and I get hated on and I get in troble. Would it just make everyone happy if I just abandon my user page and act as if I never registered? Just leave a coment on if you think I should or not and I'll tally up the votes tomorrow. I always seem to piss everyone off somehow.”

The blog was made in response to several criticisms ZH115 received for his edits, blogs, and forums. After several comments made on the blog, however, it became clear that the community wanted ZH to stay, as they felt he could improve. ZH agreed, and the blog was closed. However, on the same day, he received a warning about violating UTP from user Diegox223, this was his first.

Paincarnate Incident

After be-friending the banned user, Paincarnate, ZH attempted to have his ban appealed, citing COD:BITE and feeling that his treatment was nothing more than bullying. Sactage explained his feeling that Paincarnate was lying, and Callofduty4 and Cpl. Bohater told ZH to simply ignore any pleads for help, as Paincarnate had already been banned.

Other Incidents
On October 25th 2011, ZH started a forum titled “Zombie songs” where you could suggest what songs should be featured in Zombie maps. One of his choices was the song “Til I collapse” by Eminem. CoaZ proceeded to say:

“No to 'Till I Collapse. I love that song, but it's more of a pump-up song then a zombie slaying song.”

The next message came from user Damac1214, and read “Per CoaZ.” Damac and ZH had had several prior disagreements, and ZH accused Damac of “Always dissing on my stuff.” A short argument ensued, involving Damac, CoaZ, Diegox223, and Hiptechboy. The conflict was resolved when Damac left a message on ZH’s talk saying that he didn’t hate him in anyway, they just didn’t have the same opinions most of the time.

Over the course of a couple weeks, ZH made several blog posts which got little responses, as well as several edits that were undone.

Supposed Departure

On November 29th, ZH created a blog simply called “I’m done”.

“I can't do this anymore. I'm tired of no one ever treating me with respect. Every edit I make is always a bad edit, and some fucking admin always changes it back. Meaning no one appreciates my edits. I usually get told to stop putting any "unnessesary" edits on the TRIVIA section of the page. Think about it. Is the trivia section itself really nessesary? I'm getting told to stop editing unnessesary things on an unnessesary topic. That's bullshit. And no one ever cares about what I have to say on the chat. No matter what I say on the chat, no one ever pays attention. I'm a user on here too, and I want to be included in the chat, but when I try to be included, no one ever wants me to be included. If no one wanted me here then you all should have said something when you had the chance. Go ahead and say that I'm over-reacting, but if you see the bullshit I put up with when I'm not here on the wiki, you might understand. I just got back to my school after not being there for three weeks, and when I got back, almost no one even noticed I was gone. I come here on the wiki because I try to find a place where I'm accepted, but if I can't be accepted even on here, then I don't know where to turn, really. I'm going to do a poll again. Should I leave, or quit? Will you guys accept me, or not? Your choice.”

Several users tried to convince him not too leave, citing that he was over-reacting and pulling a publicity stunt. Violating the recently implemented Cool Story Bro policy, he announced to everyone he was Autistic. Despite most commentors good intentions, ZH115 went by the poll he left on the blog. The poll read “Should Zombiehunter115 leave or not?” the options were yes and no. 10 votes were casted for no, and 12 for yes. By the end of the night, ZH had said his goodbyes, and left Cod Wiki.

Ja129

The same day, a new user joined the wiki and posted a blog called “What’s up people?”

“I'm new to the wiki. This is my first blog, and I just wanna say hey. What's going on? I hope I could make friends with everyone here.”
While initially accepted, some peculiar traits made them self clear. Ja appeared to have full knowledge of a lot of users on the wiki and how things worked around there, strange for a new user.
“for a while now i've been watching. observing. stalking even. just watching everyone here. not on the chat, which i guess i'll have to check out some time, but fourms, blogs, userpages, u name it. i've been stalking u guys for a while. so i sorta understand. sorta.”
The suspicious behavior, and other users growing suspicions, soon led to a Check User being performed on Ja, which revealed him to be ZH115. Having opened a new account to try and start a new, Callofduty4 blocked the old ZombieHunter account, and left Ja129 to resume his work on the wiki.
Final Straw
On December 9th, 2011, Ja entered the chat and began a PM conversation with Shotrocket6. He declared his dis-trust for admins, and felt that Shot was trying to intimidate him. After a short argument, in which Shot explained an admins position to a rather stuck up Ja, Ja left the chat after calling Shot an “A-Hole”. Shot took a picture of the conversation, and later posted it. In a rage at what he saw as a breach of privacy, Ja left the following message on Shots page.
“YOU HAVE THE FUCKING BALLS TO PUT THIS SHIT UP?! I'll say it again. I. Don't. Like. Admins!” Included was a picture of the conversation.
Shot responded by telling him to drop his hatred, but Ja did not react calmly.
“This is an invation of privacy. It was a private chat for a reason, and you basically got me fucked. I just don't like admins. More spacifically, I don't like YOU.”
Callofduty4 then took action, giving Ja a 3 day cool down block, which was later upped to two weeks.
A Third Account
The next day, a new account was opened, named Sgt. BAWS. As his first edit other than his userpage, he created a blog asking if “there are any policies I should follow?”. Due to suspicion of Multiple Accounts, Sgt. BAWS was checkusered. It was discovered that it was ZH115, and he was evading the ban for Ja. Sgt. BAWS was banned permanently, as was Ja and ZH115’s ip address.
Walking Dead Wiki
Damac1214 had become a relatively active user on the Walking Dead wiki. Upon entering the chat one day, he discovered ZH115 in it, all alone. The two talked, and Damac1214 explained to the best of his abilities why ZH had been banned, and why it always seemed like people were giving him a hard time. ZH left the chat, seemingly at peace.
Continued Ban Evasion
Initially, ZH used Damac as a kind of conduit to the CoD wiki, with a couple sporadic messages hear and there, but eventually, he started posting on his own.

“ZH115 here. I just wanted to say hi to one out of the two people I miss the most on the wiki. Again, I'm on a different computer and not logged in. However, you can find me active on The Walking Dead wiki. It's not as active as this one, but there are some really good people there. So far I haven't done anything to get me blocked from that wiki too, although there was on thing that could have gotten out of hand. But it didn't so, yay! I just really miss you and FluttershyOakley. If you want to you can leave me a message on my talk page for TWD wiki, which I would like it if you did so I know you get this message. Most users saw this not as a friendly gesture, but as a slightly creepy obsession with users still on the wiki, but no notable action was taken.
Next Move
“I feel like I had just been slapped in the face, kicked in the balls, and punched in the gut all at once. I was just reading the CoD wiki, and i read Firebird-'s latest blog. the one about HIS confetion. at first, i was touched and felt sorry for him. then i thought, "Wait. I'M pretty much in HIS SHOES right now. afraid of rejection like everyone else becuz i'm a (quote) 'smartass/sensitive person/wierdo/'. yet HE stays and actually GAINS the respect from other people, while i'm perma-baned for being a 'smartass/sensitive person/wierdo' and then some." if by some merical i get un-baned. do u think i'll be welcomed back like FB-? or do u think people would say, "Dude, u were perma-baned for a reason. Upon seeing the user Firebird-’s blog, where he admitted that he had only been pretending to be a girl, ZH115 complained to Damac that he felt he was ebign mistreated and hated, and wanting to know if anyone would even accept him if he came back.
Damac responded by simply telling him:
“Do not take this out of context, this is the only warning i'm giving you for this. Everything you are about to read is meant to help you, NOT hurt you.
There are major differences between your case and Firebirds case. Firebird has become well known for his respect and good will toward everyone on the wiki. You became well known for frequent outbursts, sometimes rather rude, and attention seeking. Where Firebirds secret had been eating away at him since he joined the wiki, and he felt he had betrayed the trust of everyone on the wiki. You did not have a secret, at least not at first, you simply did not face criticism or critique well and made several blogs about how you felt rejected by the community, and initially we listened and tried to make you feel more accepted, but your constant actions of, to be frank, rudeness made it hard to do that. Firebird has always been a kind and respectful user, willing to try to learn to like users. You on the other hand were rather intolerant, specifically declaring your hate for admins. When it finally came down to your secret, the crats had to use check user to figure out that you were who you are. Firebird came out with it on his own. He didn't have too, but he did.
If you really want to know what people remember you for, its this. Being oversensitive to situations on the wiki and taking it this hard. The community is very accepting, and would likely give you another chance, but you would need a major attitude change. The community simply is not going to put up with it again.
My final message to you, is to calm down. This is a wiki, I get that its a community and you want to feel accepted and all, but its a wiki. Crying over it isn't solving anything. Damac1214 04:07, January 28, 2012 (UTC)”
With this, ZH115 finally seemed to relent from both his upset with the CoD wiki and his previously held grudge with Damac. And for once, all seemed well. ZH was happy on the Walking Dead wiki, and it didn’t seem like he was going to cause anymore problems for the CoD wiki.
Attempt at Unban
“I know that you are not an admin on the CoD wiki, but I ask for permision to come back. I understand if you and pretty much everyone on the CoD wiki don't want me back, but I would just like to ask. I tried getting contact with Callofduty4, but he never said anything back. I do realize I could just make another account and be on there, but I'm not gonna be THAT much of a dick. Not again. I was thinking you could maybe make a blog, with a voting poll asking if everyone would be willing to let me come back. First explain the situation, saying that you've had contact with me and that I wanna come back. Then make the poll, asking if people would let me back in. Keep the poll open for about a week, then give me the results. If they say yes, then i'll make a new account or something(it would probably be Zombiehunter935 instead of 115). Please, include that I have really learned my lesson. I'm not just saying that to get back in. I really did. One of the reasons I got banned was I didn't like admins. Truthfully, I was afraid of them. But over here on TWD wiki, I learned not to be so afraid. I befriended an admin over here, who is a really good guy. So, I promise I won't talk shit about admins anymore. I understand if you don't wanna do this, but I just thought I'd ask, becuz I REALLY miss you guys. Please consider doing this. Redskin was contacted about askign an admin or crat to lift ZH115’s block on the CoD wiki. Redskin willingly went to Cod4 about it, but the request was denied.
