- Unlike many of my other teams, this team was not built around a Mega; rather, this team was built around Latias. Tired of using Latios on all of my previous HO teams, I didn't want to see it here. Never giving Latias a second thought over Latios, the Youtuber pokeaimMD made me realize how great Latias can be, boasting great natural bulk and the ability to still fire off some deadly attacks. So I decided to use the specific set that pokeaim used, and build around that. I needed a team member that would take on almost all of its weaknesses with ease.
- Enter Aegislash, the king of OU. Boasting defenses that compete with Deoxys-Defense, and attack stats that are unparalleled, Aegislash is a force to be reckoned with. Since most of the moves that Latias would not be able to take would come mostly from Choiced pokemons, I took the liberty to use a forgotten set, capable of tearing a team apart.
- Things were looking good, until I realized that Mega Gyarados and Mega Pinsir would tear me the fuck apart. Holy crap, that's bad. So I opted for safe TWave support in Thundurus, and decided to try out a Nasty Plot Dual STABs set. HP Flying is actually rather good on Thundy, allowing it to pick off Mega Venusaur and Conkeldurr when at +2, two of the most annoying pokemons, with the former being so difficult to deal with, thanks to its variety of sets it can run.
- And goddamn, I need rocks! For a tier infested of rock setters, I swear that most of them suck. Tran, to me, feels like it loses the momentum. Bisharp is rather frail, and I'd rather use his Sub set. Lando-T rarely works for me, and has a a horribly easy set to counter and predict, making him unappealing to me. Not wanting that thing on my team, I opted for the better version: Landorus-I. Running Sheer Force and a Life Orb makes sure that my damage output is at its peak. It would also help me deal with Aegislash, a current threat to any team. I opted for a Rash nature for the damage, as it allows me to use Mixed Lando without the 10% power drop in it's Attack stat, but now considering a Naive Nature due to speed issues.
- What do we have here, Lenub. A TTar weakness?! A Mamoswine weakness??!! Boy, go learn how scary these things were in gen 5 OU, and show them their proper respect here! Ok so, yeah, Band and ScarfTar cause me some problems, and Mamo just destroys these 4 members almost effortlessly, thus making me provide a check to the two. Also seeing that I lacked a Choice Scarf pokemon so far, I opted to go for Scarf Keldeo, alleviating me of my TTar weakness, and somewhat helping against Mamo. Not much to say, apart from late game sweeps with Hydro Pump.
- Finally, I needed a Mega. Seeing that Pinsir could fit in a little surprise factors in the team, I went for it. I run the rather overlooked set, which, with slightly weaker priority and what could be a better speed tier, this Mega Pinsir is much more capable of doing things on his own than the rest of the team.
- Please head on to the team sets for more information on how to get ripped in just 2 weeks!!!1
