  5. [5:10:17 PM] HarpyKuro: basically kogasa's a normal girl who has a job and goes to school, living mostly on her own because her parents are usually out vacationing or doing work. They help pay the bills but aside from that they're really detached from their daughter and so she developed some self-esteem issues
  6. [5:11:33 PM] HarpyKuro: she also gets teased a little at school because she's a nerd. she does well in classes, but the Queen Bee of school and her clique don't take kindly to her
  7. [5:12:43 PM] HarpyKuro: MEANWHILE ON ANOTHER PLANET, [s]Dream Land[/s] the Kingdom of Dreams was seiged by the Nightmare Gang, and Nazrin is the only survivor of the onslaught, taking her beloved mistress's magical umbrella
  8. [5:13:14 PM] HarpyKuro: and of course she loses it, so it passes through many hands and kind of gets ripped and torn along the way, with how carelessly people treat umbrellas
  9. [5:14:13 PM] HarpyKuro: Kogasa's heading home from school in the rain and finds the umbrella in an empty trash bin and picks it up and uses it, even though it is not really all that great. THen when she gets home she fixes it and pretty much talks to it
  10. [5:15:27 PM] HarpyKuro: "You know, we're sort of the same, aren't we? We were both neglected by people, even though we tried our hardest to be good, and we're left behind. But don't worry! I'll take care of you and love you like... like... like we're best friends!"
  11. [5:16:20 PM] HarpyKuro: later Nazrin finds Kogasa's apartment using her handy dandy item finder and looky here, umbrella, and she's like "THE UMBRELLA HATH CHOSEN"
  12. [5:17:03 PM] HarpyKuro: "you're a magical girl, I'm Nazzy, I'm also a magical girl, THE NIGHTMARE GANG [s]KILLED[/S] BEAT UP MY ENTIRE PLANET AND IS GONNA TARGET EARTH NEXT :S plz help"
  13. [5:18:13 PM] HarpyKuro: and without asking she just drags kogasa away to the nightmare gang's first target: THE QUEEN BEE *dun dun*
  14. [5:21:05 PM] HarpyKuro: nazrin explains the basics, they delve into the queen bee's dreams, and she is having a nightmare where her family chatises her for wearing 'commoner clothes', even though she thinks she looks cute in them. Basically told that if she doesn't get straight As and let herself be run over by a 'commoner', then she doesn't deserve to be their daughter. Basically rich girl problems, with detached parents who only care for appearances and PERFECTION! and how they don't need peasants for friends
  15. [5:21:46 PM] HarpyKuro: the nightmare gang member, taking the form of the rich girl's ma, is absolutely relishing this, and tries beating up the girls with the power of MONEY
  16. [5:22:36 PM] HarpyKuro: hope seems lost because Nazrin got her ass kicked (understandably: she got most of her energy drained from fighting a war, escaping from said war to another planet, and finding the umbrella she dropped) and Kogasa is trying to figure out "HOW I SHOOT WEB"
  17. [5:22:52 PM] HarpyKuro: then she finally transforms and MAGICAL GIRL BEAAAMUUU
  18. [5:23:28 PM] HarpyKuro: in the end, the Queen Bee thanks Kogasa for her help and... *gasp* asks her if she wants to hang out
  19. [5:24:12 PM] HarpyKuro: Nazrin decides to stay at Kogasa's house and help her fight nightmares, Queen Bee asks if she can help and they're both like "hey, why not?"
  20. [5:24:32 PM] HarpyKuro: Nazzy's also like "uh wait I don't know how we can turn you into a magical girl juuuust yet, so you can help with info! :D "
  21. [5:24:40 PM] HarpyKuro: happiness and ice cream parties ensue, the end
  22. [5:25:37 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: i am impressed as to how much thought you put into this
  23. [5:25:41 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: and i also really like it!
  24. [5:25:47 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: it's a good way to start the series and show the concept
  25. [5:26:01 PM] HarpyKuro: Queen Bee becomes an actual Queen Bee magical girl
  26. [5:26:08 PM] HarpyKuro: BEEEEEES
  27. [5:26:13 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: clearly that's the midseason upgrade
  28. [5:26:20 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: rather than kogasa getting extra powers she gets an ally
  29. [5:26:33 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: and then nightmare gang members are COVERED IN BEEEEEEEES
  30. [5:26:50 PM] HarpyKuro: no see it's not a magical girl anime without at least a trio of magical girls
  31. [5:26:56 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: well yeah
  32. [5:27:07 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: i assume the second episode will set up the third magical girl
  33. [5:27:19 PM] HarpyKuro: and they get upgrades by just being friends and treating people right and stuff. basically tied to character development
  34. [5:27:24 PM] Rin Kaenbyou: yaaay
  35. [5:27:48 PM] HarpyKuro: so it's kogasa, queen bee, and ????
  36. [5:28:03 PM] HarpyKuro: Nazrin's more support
