- Southern Ainwae Human Architecture:
- Lots of stone and clay work, plenty of woods available for
- logging. Lots of inspiration from Renaissance era architecture
- Desert dwelling Human Architecture:
- Smooth sandstone, plenty of glass and tarp. Also a lot of
- temporary housing- tents or easily constructed lean-to's
- Western Ainwae Human Architecture:
- Lots of Elvish inspiration- but instead of magically grown,
- built from felled trees and wood. Lots of rivers, so plenty
- of mobile boat houses. Thatching on the cheap, wooden roofs
- for those that can afford it.
- Eastern Elvish Architecture:
- Close connection to nature has led to the actual cities
- being grown from within massive trees. Rooms carved into
- the tree itself, lots of balconies built outward. Communal
- living is common. Built housing is still constructed from
- living growth, usually multiple trees grown and woven
- together, the canopies forming roofs
- Mountain Elvish Architecture:
- Dark elves inhabit the deepest parts of the mountains, where
- dwarves dare not go for fear of dangerous creatures. Stone
- is plentiful- and raiding parties tend to have a steady
- supply of other materials from attacking dwarven merchants.
- Creates an ecclectic atmosphere, clashing and harmonizing
- in odd ways. Biolumiscent living creatures are a primary
- source of lighting- fungi are rather popular. Particularly
- large stagmites and stalagtites are carved from the inside
- out to form towers and spires.
- Mountain Dwarvish Architecture:
- Dwarves tend to live in the higher parts of the mountain,
- close to cave entrances. They hollow out as much as they
- can, and use the excess material to build. Wooden structures
- are found more near the outside, usually guard towers and
- gates. Stone buildings are carved with artistic care. They
- have discovered how to make concrete, making for large and
- solid structures. Mercantile by nature there are plenty of
- market spaces and stalls for sellers and crafters.
- Mountain Orcish Architecture:
- Orcs live on the rocky peaks and valleys of the mountains
- and tend to come most in contact with dwarves. Early on it
- was a source of conflict. Orc dwellings are typically
- minimal- scavenged wooden structurers lined with furs.
- Large wooden walls with sharpened pikes are a sure sign of
- an orcish encampment. Fans of lodging and barracks.
