  25. Shen is a female Griffon. Her feathers are a light grey, and has sky blue eyes. Shen has always been a bit of a bookworm. In her old village, almost everyone either hunted or gathered every day. Shen happened to be an exception. When some other griffons brought some books they had found off of some unfortunate adventurers for fire kindling, when she stopped them. She took the books home, fascinated by the pictures and words, even if she didn't initially know how to read. Shen began to spend her free time looking through the books, beginning to request more books and teaching herself how to read.
  26. Soon, she was spending more time reading then helping the village out by hunting and gathering. Although she tapped into her magical side, becoming the first magic user in her village, she also distanced herself from her friends and relatives, as a mage doesn't have much standing in a village of hunters and gatherers. Thus, after ridicule and reading through all the books in her entire village (Which really isn't that much, since almost no one knew how to read in the first place), Shen left in pursuit of continued studies of the arcane.
  27. Shen left to the capitol of Equestria, as she had learned about it's universities and schools from the limited books she read. She arrived in Canterlot, and immediately at Canterlot Magic University. Shen passed her entrance test, surprising the CMA teachers with her magic aptitude, despite barely knowing how to read and coming from very small village. Shen proceeded to spend the next four of her years at CMA, making friends, learning magic, and eventually becoming a very skilled if not one of the best griffon mages seen in this millennium.
  28. Now Shen explores the world, continuing her studies and practicing her magic. She often joins adventuring parties when she thinks she could learn more in her studies or even just to practice her magic. Because of her past, she is very accepting towards ponies, and tends to act more like them, even becoming vegan earlier due to her years in Canterlot. However, she's more of a scholar, and because of her last few months in the village tends to dislike brutes and the sort. However, she tries to show compassion, since she wasn't given it from her village after she decided to become a Thaumaturge.
