agamemnon captures a priest of apollo and achilles gets pissed at him
and achilles took her as his captive so in exchange for that he would sit out of the war
menelaus v paris. menelaus wins but apollo snatches paris away and the greeks declare war
aphrodite* carries paris away
patroclus killed sarpedon and hector kills patroclus
achilles gets pissed at hector and has hephaestus make him a new suit of armor. he fights aeneas and badly wounds him so he's out of the battle
apollo intervenes and disguises himself as a trojan prince and buys the soliders time to get inside the walls
meanwhile hector stood in front of the gates
cause he dumb
and old king priam tried to knock some sense into hector but he wouldn't listen
"So they'll speak. Thus, it would be better for me to face Achilles and slay him, or die gloriously before the city."
then when achilles gets close hector becomes a little bitch and stars running away from the gates
achilles kept advancing.
after a while, apollo finally left him and hector tries to negotiate with achilles
(after 3 runs around the walls of troy apollo leaves him)
achilles misses his first spear and hector retaliates, but it hits achilles' shield. hector now has no spears. "At least I will not die ingloriously without a struggle, but in some great deed of arms forever famous." - Hector
hector draws his sword and runs forward but achilles just stabs him in the throat with his longer range spear
hector begs achilles to not leave him to the dogs.
achilles says no
then he takes the body and slit the tendons of both his feet and bound the two together with ox-hide. he fastened them to his chariot, leaving the head to drag. he mounted the chariot holding up the famous armor. he lashed his horses to speed, and they willingly sped up and he was ripped apart.
after the funeral games held in honor of patroclus, king priyam came to achilles to beg back for the body of his son. achilles eventually relents and gives the body back to him, and agreed also to a truce during which the rites for hector might be solemnized.
Thus was held the funeral for Hector, tamer of horses.
