#The Disabled

The mute man sang to me,
“Do you feel you are happy?”

The deaf man heard my cry,
“What is better, to live or to die?”

The lame man walked to meet,
and looked at me from head to feet.

The blind man saw my eyes,
and witnessed a glimpse of lies.

At first, I did not stop grinning;
now, I could not stop shaking.

What I saw in front,
was visor I haven’t for months.

Who was I to them?
A sad man, eyes without gem!

Their faces, the scorning lot,
Stop taunting with that I have not!

Then the mute man lifted his face,
and said “Well, I rest my case.”

They all vanished, joy again born;
and the sad man was left, joy again scorned.
