  1. Ko: I've always wanted to change the world.
  2. Ko: Sometimes I wonder if it's really possible.
  3. Arthor S. Avharain II: Arthor Pendragon did it once.
  4. Arthor S. Avharain II: I always wanted t'meet him, y'know. Ask him how he did it. Why he did it. If he had any regrets in death.
  5. Arthor S. Avharain II: I considered dragging up the Gates of Avalon at one point. It's ridiculous, I know, but how can only a single man have made change that great?
  6. Arthor S. Avharain II: It seems ridiculous.
  7. Arthor S. Avharain II: Valmasia has been populated for some 800 years. Who knows how much longer before that humanity existed. And in our history, only a -single- man managed it.
  8. Ko: What do you think it takes?
  9. Ko: Legends say that Kraus intervened, and gave Arthor the power to do it.
  10. Ko: Is that what it takes, or is it...
  11. Ko: Something more?
  12. Arthor S. Avharain II: I want to think it's something more. I want to think someone could change the world with words and words alone.
  13. Arthor S. Avharain II: But even Arthor Pendragon needed to fight for it. Even he needed 'power' and 'strength' beyond our comprehension.
  14. Arthor S. Avharain II: Did I ever tell you about the time I met Netzach, one of Kraus' Angels, and what happened?
  15. Ko: No.
  16. Arthor S. Avharain II: He tried to force us to spark revolt and uprising -- to encourage war.
  17. Ko: Do you think even the angels have lost hope in us?
  18. Arthor S. Avharain II: I shot him down and he told us of the things he's seen. He sat there in Avalon, speaking to me through his little window, and told us how he, and the rest of the Angels, have given up hope in humanity.
  19. Arthor S. Avharain II: And then... he showed me why.
  20. Arthor S. Avharain II: I don't really know. Divine Magic, probably, but he showed me every single war since the birth of humanity.
  21. Arthor S. Avharain II: All across Eternia.
  22. Arthor S. Avharain II: Two hours I was forced to endure it and watch humans, then and now, slaughter one another. Of course, I wasn't shown why in any of the cases, but then, I don't really think I needed to be shown.
  23. Arthor S. Avharain II: Humans will always resort to war because it's... the easiest solution. It was horrible.
  24. Ko: <*She closed her eyes, silently listening*>
  25. Arthor S. Avharain II: We slander the likes of Yokai for devouring to survive, but we kill over something as small as... race. Economy. Opinion.
  26. Arthor S. Avharain II: Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  27. Ko: Arthor.
  28. Arthor S. Avharain II: Mm?
  29. Ko: I think I know what we have to do.
  30. Ko: If the angels have lost hope in us, then we can't.
  31. Ko: We have to stand tall, and raise Valmasia.
  32. Ko: We need to give the angels a reason to believe.
  33. Arthor S. Avharain II: How do you make creatures that have seen this cycle repeat over and over again believe?
  34. Ko: We break the cycle.
  35. Ko: I don't know how, but Arthor chanegd to world.
  36. Ko: We can too.
  37. Arthor S. Avharain II: Maybe. I hope so. I really do.
  38. Ko: There's no such thing as a circle that can't be broken.
  39. Ko: And even if there was, if there was such a thing as something unmoveable.
  40. Ko: Then we'll become unstoppable.
  41. Ko: <*She sits back up*>
  42. Ko: My great grandmother told me a story about a man named Ceris.
  43. Arthor S. Avharain II: ...Avharain?
  44. Ko: You probably know about him, yes, him.
  45. Arthor S. Avharain II: Vaguely.
  46. Ko: When she took Dawnbringer from Seraphiel Melym, she ended up giving it to him.
  47. Ko: She wanted blood, she was angry.
  48. Ko: Her husband was dead, by the hands of the man marching upon them now.
  49. Ko: But Ceris and Lloyd Avharain talked her into giving them Dawnbringer.
  50. Ko: They say it's a symbol of hope, and they tried to use it to stop the war.
  51. Ko: The war, as you know, still went on.
  52. Ko: But his words didn't miss their mark.
  53. Ko: They struck the hearts of many, according to her.
  54. Arthor S. Avharain II: Hm?
  55. Ko: She didn't want to fight. She wanted to just protect the people she loved, and when a soldier found her, she stood her ground.
  56. Ko: They fought to a draw, before they began to talk.
  57. Ko: Or....Not talk, in Morgan's case.
  58. Ko: But they agreed that the war wasn't what the land needed.
  59. Ko: And they went their seperate ways.
  60. Ko: Perhaps the people in this war want blood too much.
  61. Ko: But hope remains.
  62. Ko: And you can never lose sight of that.
  63. Ko: Because as long as your words can reach the hearts of some people, you can change the world, even if not all at once.
  64. Ko: Even if Kraus doesn't believe in us, well fuck him.
  65. Ko: We don't need some divine intervention to prove anything.
  66. Ko: We are people, through and through, and this is our land.
  67. Ko: And we're going to make it clear, and pure.
  68. Ko: No matter what.
  69. Arthor S. Avharain II: ...I hope you're right. Honestly, I do.
  70. Arthor S. Avharain II: I know I don't plan to stop, even if it kills me.
  71. Arthor S. Avharain II: Arthor Pendragon didn't. He fought and fought and gave his life to protect the world he loved. I'm not him, but I don't want to stop.
  72. Ko: I think I know the answer to my question.
  73. Ko: What it takes to change the world.
  74. Arthor S. Avharain II: Hm?
  75. Ko: An unbreakable will.
  76. Arthor S. Avharain II: ...Do you think that's possible?
  77. Ko: Maybe.
  78. Ko: I've heard some stories about Ceris.
  79. Arthor S. Avharain II: I like to think I'm... mostly resolute in my ideals. I don't want to think I'm so week that I could and would veer away from them. Ever.
  80. Ko: He was a sin magi once, you know this, right?
  81. Arthor S. Avharain II: I'd... heard stories, but I figured it was just information that'd been skewed over the years.
  82. Ko: My great grandmother found it out for herself
  83. Arthor S. Avharain II: Oh?
  84. Ko: I don't know if it's true, but I dont see why she would lie.
  85. Ko: I also heard, however.
  86. Ko: Little whispers, children's stories, bar rumors, that his will became so powerful, so potent that he could manifest it in pure power, that it overcame his curse, and became a blessing.
  87. Ko: A perect, absolute will.
  88. Ko: The soul of the unbreakable.
  89. Ko: That's what I want.
  90. Arthor S. Avharain II: ...Didn't he give up trying to change things in the end, though?
  91. Ko: Perhaps.
  92. Arthor S. Avharain II: I heard he just... settled.
  93. Ko: I don't know what became of him.
  94. Ko: But if I can reach such a power, maybe I can use it.
  95. Arthor S. Avharain II: Then don't give up. No matter what happens.
  96. Ko: I never have, never will.
