  1. Hi both,
  2.
  3. It was about a year ago that I first installed FreeBSD on my T440. It was soon after that I discovered BSD Now and I've listened every week since then. My personal servers all used to run Linux, but now are all FreeBSD (and thanks to jails, five servers have been consolidated into two). I've even managed to get FreeNAS deployed at work in a small test environment.

  5. You and your guests have kept me captivated week after week and helped take me from nothing to being an everyday FreeBSD user.
  6. In the last few months you've encouraged me to look at port maintenance and I've had two ports committed thanks to a couple of very helpful people within the community. A quick note to say that not being much of a programmer I thought porting would be massively difficult, but it's actually not that bad thanks to the Porter’s Handbook and helpful community members.

  8. I'm mainly writing to you both to say thank you, and a massive thanks to the community. But I do have a quick question for you both; should I want to confirm how old a FreeBSD installation is, how is best to achieve that? My laptop had been running 11-CURRENT and was having world and kernel rebuilt every week. Recently it's been running 11-STABLE, having simply switched svn paths at the appropriate time. So I've not done any fresh installs, just source based upgrades.

  10. Thanks so much again for the show, here’s to another year!
  11.
  12. Ben
