  1.
  2. Narrator has connected.
  3. Avara has connected.
  4. Actinidia has connected.
  5. Narrator: AND WE HAVE THREE
  6. Avara: yay, we're finally 3 for 4
  7. Narrator: But still no Grace.
  8. DNA: Traffic was not kind to me today!
  9. DNA: I'm going to take off my shirt now.
  10. Narrator: Take it ALL off!
  11. DNA: (context: it's been 95+ Fahrenheit for the past 3 days solid)
  12. Narrator: You knew it was coming.
  13. DNA: I know, but I didn't care
  14. Narrator: Some, it seems like the plan is to
  15. TUTOR MOTHER@#$%ER
  16. Go searching for food and stuff.
  17. Avara: i don't want any tutoring done to me for the time being, so i'll skip out on that part. but yes, we need FOODSTUFFS.
  18. Narrator: Rob wants to do the clever and Ava suggested the obviously overlooked and Rob responded "True"
  19. Narrator: So, Rob probably is waiting for you to do the clever and then have Ava suggest the obviously overlooked.
  20. Narrator: You may also respond "True"
  21. DNA: Which one is the clever one, and which one is the obviously overlooked one?
  22. Narrator: I'll wait for them to explain now.
  23. Avara: you suggest something first
  24. Narrator: Because I'm bad at this and not getting better.
  25. DNA: I knew the start of it was to tutor 1 or 2 people some moves. AFter that I don't know if there was a solid plan, but I know we wanted to get the idea of the gym up pretty quickly.
  26. Avara: we need food because we only have ~4 days of food in stock
  27. Actinidia: I wanted to go get food, but didn't want to go to grocery stores or anyplace obvious because they'll be raided. The Whitehouse had a ton of food that none of the pokemon realized was food, so I want a place like that.
  28. Avara: my suggestion was: we could hit up restaurants and fast food places to check for supplies too.
  29. Avara: fun thing about those places, they tend to be very noticeable as such even without the ability to read.
  30. DNA: This is true. They tend to have rather vibrant signage.
  31. Avara: and the architecture tends to stand out too
  32. Narrator: "What the fuck is juice? GIVE ME SOME PURPLE DRINK!"
  33. Narrator: That's what came to my head first.
  34. I'm not being helpful.
  35. Avara: diners are all recognizably similar, fast food places tend to be designed to be unique looking, etc
  36. Avara: you're being funny, and that IS helpful
  37. DNA: So that does sound like a good idea. The tutoring thing will be quick and easy. Will also let the GM stall for time in whipping up a new area or two.
  38. DNA: ...and by new area, I mean potential restaurants to locate. I should have been clear.
  39. Avara: sounds good to me.
  40. Narrator: Rob could recap for us if he'd like to.
  41. Actinidia: brb
  42. Actinidia: doorbell
  43. Narrator: Pfft.
  44. Actinidia: Okay! We got back to our base and met Slen, the Mega Mawile merchant. He agreed to trade some food in exchange for letting him set up shop at our base. And by set up shop, I mean we literally promised him materials to build a shop.
  45. DNA: Dang, I forgot about that guy.
  46. Avara: no, we literally promised to build the shop
  47. Actinidia: Uraruren decided it was time to return home and share what she had learned, as well as learning more about spidery techniques like spinning webs, something she is lacking and feels insecure about.
  48. Avara: etna can do building and build directing while others are getting tutored
  49. Actinidia: Actinidia discovered tutoring moves! Well, Setszas did and informed her. And she immediately set out to take advantage of this!
  50. Actinidia: Between game review: Actinidia learned Giga Drain and Leaf Tornado.
  51. Actinidia: Unless we want to RP this.
  52. DNA: (I also went to nab Dragon Rush, though I don't know if that has to be done between sessions either.)
  53. Actinidia: She also taught Synthesis to anyone who was willing to learn, encouraging the snivy to learn it for the cheap healing option. It's grass only but Actinidia has seen the impossible enough to try showing non-grass pokemon how it works.
  54. Actinidia: She wants at least one or two snivy to know Grassy Terrain, but doesn't care who. Someone who will be at the base.
  55. Actinidia: She is also willing to teach Refresh to anyone who knows an HP recovery move, but it isn't as vital. It's a simple offer.
  56. Narrator: Nah, I'm not particularly wanting to roleplay that out.
  57. DNA: I'll just add that Dragon Rush into my sheet, then...
  58. Actinidia: You can add what NPC snivy learned what to the logistics sheet. I'll check it later.
  59. Narrator: Hm. I thought I had doors.
  60. Actinidia: There are doors on BM001, top map
  61. Actinidia: if they are seperate objects
  62. Narrator: Scrolling!
  63. Narrator: I need to make a BM002
  64. Narrator: I'm either getting better or lazier.
  65. Narrator: I paint most of the bg now.
  66. Actinidia: Better, probably. That's a good way to do the background. That's the assumed way to do the background, actually. They have tutorials on it on their site.
  67. Narrator: So, the restaurant will be recognizable. But won't look like it should on the map.
  68. Narrator: Because, y'know, screw making a McDonalds.
  69. Avara: dimcoddles
  70. Actinidia: I love WcDonalds. My favorite legally distinct fast food resturant.
  71. Narrator: Grace is coming?
  72. Actinidia: should be
  73. Actinidia: we don't share hamachi, so I am unsure.
  74. Narrator: You guys can roelplay and setup the departure for her then.
  75. Actinidia: "With any luck, we can evolve after this outing. We've been seeing more and more evolved pokemon, we can't afford to be outpowered for too long."
  76. Narrator: Note to self:
  77. NEVER LEAVE BULBAPEDIA OPEN
  78. DNA: DO YOU GET DISTRACTED?
  79. Pierce Mars Oswell: "That reminds me, Act. This evolving thing. Do you have any idea how it works?"
  80. Narrator: I was doing like 4 things at once, so yes.
  81. Etna: "I don't know. It might still be a while, and we might not all evolve at the same time. If we do, it would be nice, though. I... also kind of worry about getting around when I do evolve. I'm gonna be a lot bigger."
  82. Actinidia: "Not at all. In the cartoon you get all glowy and bam! New shape."
  83. Pierce Mars Oswell: "So it's something instantaneous?"
  84. Etna: "It might be something about building up energy over time or becoming more practiced and efficient using it, and eventually triggering a growth spurt, basically."
  85. Etna: "Yeah, it happens in less than a minute."
  86. Actinidia: "Pretty much. The cartoon got fancier for some, but stopped doing that pretty early. In the games I think it was near instant."
  87. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Huh. Not how I perceived an evolution to happen. But at least it's efficient."
  88. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Then again, snake eggs don't hatch in 24 hours either. I can't assume anything anymore."
  89. Etna: "Yeah. It's not really the right name for it, it's just the pokemon term for 'creatures growing up really quick'."
  90. Actinidia: "And don't worry Etna. No matter how big you get we'll make sure some of the structures around here accomidate you. We could take one wing of the building and knock down the floor between the first and second, have a very tall wing of hte building."
  91. Etna: "... I didn't think about height. I was thinking width. Doorways.
  92. Grace has connected.
  93. Actinidia: "Evolution is more like a metamorphosis."
  94. Etna: "A very quick metamorphosis, yeah."
  95. Actinidia: "But all pokemon start at the lowest form, and grow into the highest over their life. Or stay the lowest. Some pokemon can resist changing, and we have a fancy rock that will empower you if you don't want to evolve further."
  96. Actinidia: Actinidia held up the Eviolite, which if I remember correctly was a ring.
  97. Grace Leonhardt: Grace approaches the group, after talking with some of the members to learn a move if useful. "What's this about the fancy rock?"
  98. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Ah, yeah, that's right. You mentioned that. ...Still... I don't think I want to be confined as this small thing forever."
  99. Actinidia: "The eviolite. I'm holding it now, and it makes me a lot tougher."
  100. Etna: "Just talking about eviolite."
  101. Grace Leonhardt: "Fair enough. It's a curious lil' rock I'll give you that one."
  102. Etna: "Makes you stronger for not being fully developed, but prevents developing."
  103. Grace Leonhardt: "Wait, it prevents evolution? Hmmm... Sounds like a kinda double edged thing."
  104. Etna: "Yeah, it's a trade-off, but it only prevents it while you're wielding it."
  105. Actinidia: "Really? That's not good..."
  106. Etna: "Yeah. That's how it worked in the games, anyway..."
  107. Pierce Mars Oswell: "That so, huh. I wasn't aware it was hindering that. It felt more like empowerment."
  108. DNA: OOC: The Eviolite does not prevent evolution in the video games. The Everstone does.
  109. Etna: "It is empowerment. For being in your smaller form."
  110. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...Ah."
  111. Avara: i thought both did?
  112. DNA: Nope.
  113. Avara: etna's allowed to be wrong. *shrug*
  114. Grace: lord knows I don't know everything about pokemon either, and I've been a big fan for a long time. *shrug*
  115. Etna: "It wouldn't give you any power if you fully evolved. But it's a useful tool until then."
  116. DNA: I know, and that's fine. Hence why I put OOC
  117. Grace Leonhardt: "Well, we don't really know the level that we evolve at, so we... *should* be fine for now?"
  118. Actinidia: "Are we ready to set out? Look for resturants, golden arches. It was Etna's suggestion."
  119. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Golden arches, got it. Anything else?"
  120. Etna: "If we start evolving, just drop the stone and hopefully it'll let you evolve too." Etna did her best imitation of a shrug. "Let's get going. We're hunting restaurants today. Fast food joints too."
  121. Etna: "Short buildings with lots of big pane windows, colorful designs, and pictures of food-related stuff around them. Tall, long poles with recognizable logos. Things like that."
  122. Actinidia: "Giant American Flags."
  123. Grace Leonhardt: "Fair enough. If the joke about fast food places are right, the food shouldn't go bad due to rubber taking a while to decompose. Badum Tss." She'll do a lazy drum impression at the end
  124. Actinidia: "We should also think of making a wagon."
  125. Actinidia: "We could haul a lot more at once that way."
  126. Pierce Mars Oswell: "You think there might be enough wood and other things lying around here to cobble one together?"
  127. Etna: "I think that would mainly help Grace for now, just by body types?"
  128. Actinidia: ((or double as a boat...))
  129. DNA: NO, ROB
  130. DNA: NOT AGAIN
  131. Avara: we're not in nearly a cartoony enough setting for that to work again.
  132. Avara: mike operates on rule of "fuck yeah seaking". in other words, if it's funny, awesome, or weird enough, he'll sign off on it.
  133. Grace: xD
  134. Narrator: Oh you guys can attempt to build a wagon and cart one around. I have no problem with that.
  135. Narrator: I will enjoy watching you writhe with one as well. By all means. Build.
  136. Avara: boatwagon. a boat with wheels that operated as both.
  137. Actinidia: Can we try to put that together before we begin?
  138. Narrator: Go ahead.
  139. Etna: "You can try. I can't." Etna wiggles her forelegs at Act.
  140. DNA: I will go with just the wagon. The boat makes no sense because if we go into the water, we die.
  141. Narrator: Woodworking such as that will be a Strength (Crafting) test.
  142. Grace Leonhardt: "Well to be fair Etna, I'm a touch stronger than I look... I think? Though a wagon would probably help in general. Lets get to work on one."
  143. Narrator: A regular pull wagon, right? What size are you going for?
  144. Narrator: We'll use characters as size charts:
  145. We talking Etna size or Mars size?
  146. Actinidia: I think going Medium and having Grace build/haul it would work for the best.
  147. Avara: probably for the best for now
  148. Avara: if we want to make an etna wagon, we'll want to wait until she evolves
  149. Avara: so we don't have to rebuild it later
  150. Grace Leonhardt: Honestly, that's not a bad idea considering.
  151. Avara: a pull wagon for grace an be used in pre and post evolution without fiddling
  152. DNA: Pretty much! Medium is a good size, and there isn't much need for Etna to sit in the wagon. Hauling it, though...
  153. DNA: Same with Mars, he would weigh too much to actually sit in the wagon
  154. Avara: mhm
  155. Narrator: A Medium Sized pull wagon will be a TN4 with a Threshold of 9.
  156. Grace Leonhardt: Well side's the height increase, but that would be WAY less labor to fix it for bigger grace to move it.
  157. Narrator: Basically, this is an Advanced Test using Strength (Crafting). You'll need to roll 9 or higher to succeed progress and need a total dragon die of 4 to complete the task.
  158. Narrator: You can make a single test once a day and it consumes 6 hours (which is your time crafting).
  159. DNA: Seems good to me. So who has the highest STR right now? I have 3.
  160. Avara: STR 2
  161. Actinidia: STR 1
  162. Avara: 3! 2! 1! GO!
  163. Grace Leonhardt: 4, but I can increase it with swords dance? But that probably wouldn't come to grace's mind to do for fixing up something.
  164. Avara: so grace is our best bob the builder. she also has hands with actual arms.
  165. Narrator: You could increase it with swords dance before crafting.
  166. Narrator: "I DO THE DANCE OF DEATH...to make tools and containers."
  167. Narrator: I forget, did you guys take the radio?
  168. Grace: Yeah, she'd probably not think of doing the offensive dance thing she's learned to build... then again she did just learn it, so we might be able to shenanigan it up by saying she did it within the last hour? But that probably wouldn't count considering it take's 6 hours, and swords dance wears off after 1.
  169. Avara: i forgot there was a radio
  170. Grace: I'm pretty sure we did jack one, but I can't remember who took it.
  171. Narrator: I remember you guys being awe'd by the radio in the broken car.
  172. Narrator: I just forget if you guys actually took it.
  173. Etna: "Grace, do you know any fancy tricks to make you stronger? I know Ura had one that involved punching enemies."
  174. Etna: "Might help you lift things and hit them into place."
  175. Actinidia: I don't remember taking it. But I do remember really wanting to find that station.
  176. Avara: i don't think we took it, but can we have taken it on the way back?
  177. Grace Leonhardt: "Well... I did learn swords dance not too long ago from one of our followers? That might work."
  178. Narrator: If no one remembers taking it we'll go with no one took it. You can try to grab it when out on your expedition (or if you encounter another).
  179. Avara: ok
  180. Grace: that's fair
  181. Grace: So what should I roll for cart makin'?
  182. Actinidia: Strength (woodworking)
  183. Actinidia: Target number is 9. Your pokemon die will be how much progress you make if you hit that number
  184. Avara: strength ability test
  185. Actinidia: you need 4 progress.
  186. Actinidia: So you might not finish in one sitting.
  187. Avara: basically a 50% chance
  188. Grace: Grace tries to smack wood with a hammer after dancing. But she kinda gives up and uses the back of her hand at one point. 5+4+2+6=17
  189. DNA: WHOOOOOOOOOO
  190. DNA: That is one solid roll.
  191. Avara: too legit, too legit to quit
  192. Grace: welp. Grace is a touch of a carpenter damn!
  193. Grace, after six hours of working the wood like a mad dwarven smith, completes a Wagon in a matter of six hours. It is pristine, amazing, the wood smooth, waxed, resilient against rain and damage and, funny enough, made of cherry wood. Supple, reliant, pink.
  194. Avara: it menaces with spikes?
  195. Avara: looking up a quote
  196. Avara: This is a wagon. All craftmonship is of the highest quality. This wagon menaces with spikes of iron. This wagon is adorned with bands of iron.
  197. Avara: ./dorffort
  198. Narrator: Cherry wood wagon. Bruh,
  199. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was looking a bit proud of her work. THe idea of doing a swords dance every while was a touch embarassing, but damn if it didn't get the work done. She'll call out to the others as she gets a rag to brush down the rounded iron on the back of her hands for using improvised hammer. "I'm done guys! Apparently as a fighting type I can punch in the nails. It was kinda fun actually!"
  200. Avara: in this case, spikes of iron would be nails.
  201. Etna: "Awesome. It looks great, Grace, especially for a one-day project."
  202. Etna: "Consider me suitably impressed."
  203. Actinidia: "Very impressive!"
  204. Pierce Mars Oswell: "You're quite the dab hand with tools. Are you sure you weren't just a cosplayer before?"
  205. Grace Leonhardt: Grace blushes a touch, and rubs the back of her head. "Eheheh... I uh... heh." She'll say feeling a touch embarassed by the praise. "I was just a student at college for history... heheh..."
  206. Actinidia: "I hope we can count on you in the future, if we have longer projects."
  207. Actinidia: "Ready to see how it rolls Grace?"
  208. Grace Leonhardt: "W-Well... I suppose it wouldn't hurt. It was suprisngly enjoyable. And uh... yeah! Yeah, testing it out would probalby be a good idea." She'll say as she gets into place and tests it out.
  209. Alvarex: Alvarex claps as he walks over from poke-watching nearby, "Impressive. Impressive."
  210. Etna: "Hello, Alvarex."
  211. Alvarex: "Hello. I was just entranced by the maiden's impressive wood dance and hammering fists. Beautiful and deadly, a divine combination, wouldn't you say?"
  212. Alvarex: Alvarex bows to Grace, "Perhaps one day I'll work the cherrywood as well as you. And craft tools of saving. You'll teach me, won't you?"
  213. Actinidia: Actinidia giggled, but let her son take his best swing.
  214. DNA: What's the test used for keeping your composure?
  215. Actinidia: Resistance (Self-Discipline)
  216. Alvarex: (( Resistance (Self-Discipline) ))
  217. Alvarex: (( DAMMITNINJAS ))
  218. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was trying to focus on getting the cart moving to try and sandbag the compliments. Though the red face kinda made it obvious she did hear. "I uh, well... I didn't really know anything about this. I just kinda... saw what needed to be done, and it's just a waggon and stuff..."
  219. Avara: it'd be willpower, actually
  220. Avara: willpower (self-discipline)
  221. Actinidia: No willpower ability in PAGE
  222. Alvarex: ^
  223. Avara: it's used as an opposed check in a social stunt
  224. Pierce Mars Oswell: Self-Discipline test to resist the urge to break out into giggling at Alvarex's speech. 6+5+3+4=18
  225. Avara: theeeen that chart needs to be FIXED
  226. Avara: the stunt is Jest
  227. Grace Leonhardt: Steel type with steel face boi
  228. Avara: dat polkaface
  229. Pierce Mars Oswell: I have a stunt called Bon Mot, but no Jest
  230. Avara: why not pokerface? because polkadots
  231. Pierce Mars Oswell: oh wait there it is
  232. Pierce Mars Oswell: disregard
  233. Alvarex: Alvarex sighs seductively, "My dear maiden, no need to be so poise. Accept the compliments for a job fantastically done." Alvarex says and winks to her, "You'll have to show me the ropes when you return. Private lessons, y'know? We could work the cherrywood together."
  234. DNA: Dang, good catch.
  235. Etna: "... So would cherry wood mean you're a virgin?"
  236. Setszas: Setszas enters the area and shrugs at his brothers attempt at courting, "...Moron." Setszas turns to Actinidia, "Mother, permission to vacate the premises for two days. I'd like to explore our fringes and see what land we could expand to or what allies could be made. Or enemies removed."
  237. Alvarex: "I am. But that hardly means anything." Alvarex shrugs, "Not what I meant though. She worked the cherrywood. Am I calling it the wrong thing? Is it redwood?"
  238. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was just kinda sputtering at Alvarex's fliration. There was also the surreal touch that he wasn't all that old either. Though at Etna's comment, she'll just go red in the face, and hauls ass away, gart trailling behind.
  239. Actinidia: "Permission granted. Are you going to rely on stealth or are you going to bring others with you?"
  240. Etna: "I'm recognizing your euphemism and poking at it."
  241. Grace: how the hell did I type gart???
  242. Setszas: "I'll bring a unit of four Dunsparce with me." Setszas nods, "I'm not reliant entirely on stealth. I'll be careful though."
  243. Alvarex: Alvarex watches as Grace flee's the area, "...I was sure that'd work." Alvarex rubs his chin with his tail, "...Perhaps she's the type that enjoys wrestling..."
  244. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I'll just...go find her." Mars takes the opportunity to excuse himself, as there's no way he could taunt Alvarex more than Etna already has. He skitters off.
  245. Etna: "She's the type that requires a gentler touch. Less direct, more time to build up. Not used to breeding being a direct matter to talk about."
  246. Etna: "It wasn't, by the way, for most humans before the change."
  247. Actinidia: "Be careful of Uraruren's spiders, Setszas. When we met them they were predatory, and I'm hoping Uraruren can work them into a group we can work with. Until she has that chance, simply avoiding them would be our best choice."
  248. Alvarex: Alvarex looks to Etna before glancing to Actinidia, "You uh....you sure about that?"
  249. Alvarex: Alvarex facepalms, "No, don't answer that."
  250. Alvarex: "I need to rethink this..." Alvarex slithers off into the white house.
  251. * Etna raises an eyebrow at Alvarex.
  252. * Etna shrugs. She misses Uraruren honestly, and was dispensing some advice to try and distract herself. "I'll go keep the others company. Catch up when you're ready, Act."
  253. * Etna heads after the other two.
  254. Setszas: "Spinarak is what she is, right?" Setszas folds his arms and creates a mental note, "...Understood. We'll give that area respect."
  255. Setszas: Setszas recalls where the area is. Dem breeding memories tho.
  256. Actinidia: "Yes. We met them literally minutes after waking up and finding our bodies changed. We had no choice but diplomacy at the time. Now I need to catch up with the others. I hope to see you safe and strong next time we cross paths. And don't forget what I taught you about Synthesis. If you're with a group, it will be invaluable."
  257. Actinidia: When Actinidia had reached her mothering quota she headed off to join her friends.
  258. Narrator: ohhh yeah. NOW
  259. Narrator: Perception.....(SEARCH)
  260. Narrator: You're looking for foodlets, amiright?
  261. Actinidia: Search! 5+2+5+1=13 (STUNT! 5 Stunt Points)
  262. Etna: 4+1+2+0=7
  263. Avara: you are the correct
  264. Pierce Mars Oswell: Perception Sight 2+6+2+3=13 (STUNT! 2 Stunt Points)
  265. Grace Leonhardt: After calming herself down, she'll join the search. 4+4+5+0=13 (STUNT! 4 Stunt Points)
  266. Actinidia: Efficient Search and That Makes Me Wonder. Using Perception (Hearing) to get additional information.
  267. Grace: jfc
  268. Actinidia: Wonder... 6+2+1+3=12
  269. Avara: 13 and stunt is a popular result tonight
  270. Pierce Mars Oswell: Speedy Search
  271. Avara: 3 out of 4 13+stunts
  272. Actinidia: Speedy Search is what I meant, not Efficient Search
  273. Narrator: Pfft.
  274. Grace Leonhardt: object of your attention and advantagous positioning if that's alright?
  275. Narrator whispers: You look around swiftly after catching up with Grace and just off to the south about four blocks down, beyond the cluttered dead-car infested streets you see a recognizable drive-thru restaurant. It's white and red and striped and has no entry for pedestrians. Oh yeah, that's a motherfucking Checkers, bruh.
  276. Grace glances around and in the blink of an eye finds herself standing atop birds nest attached to a lamp-post and looking down a street.
  277. You whisper to Narrator: The hell is a Checkers?
  278. Actinidia: "I see a place, four blocks that way."
  279. You whisper to Narrator: Looked it up. Fast food chain out east.
  280. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Yeah, I see it too. It's a Checkers."
  281. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will nod her head as she acts like the lamp post was a crows nest... considering the bird nest... "Second that! I see a checkers. And I remember the shape of the panda express's icon behind the checkers."
  282. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Wow, good catch. I didn't see that."

  357. Actinidia: "Can you hear us?" Actinidia leaned in to the boom box and asked.
  358. Boom Box: "That was Matter of Time by Five Finger Death Punch. A beautiful hip hop song with a lesson. A lesson that's heavy in today."
