- PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/RYqrcc
- Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/RYqrcc/by_merchant/
- CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($349.55 @ SuperBiiz)
- i7 is pretty much necessary. the 6700K is solid for the price and will allow for overclocking if you so choose.
- CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($37.17 @ Newegg)
- The 6700k does not come with a stock cooler, so this is necessary. Fortunately this one is killer, fairly quiet, and will allow you
- to overclock.
- Motherboard: MSI B150M MORTAR Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($82.86 @ Amazon)
- Feel free to tweak this based on budget, but this guy allows for overclocking, will hold the parts chosen so far, and has a
- relatively small form factor meaning it'll fit in most cases.
- Memory: Kingston FURY 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($76.50 @ Amazon)
- You're gonna need 16GB of RAM, period.
- Storage: PNY CS1311 960GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($223.11 @ Amazon)
- Again feel free to tweak this, but if you want to access your files you're gonna want to use solid state. Storage space can be
- increased significantly if we replace the SSD with HDD, but it means we sacrifice speed by a lot and HDDs go bad eventually, just a
- fact of life. We can always mix and match, of course.
- Video Card: PNY Quadro M2000 4GB Video Card ($453.99 @ Amazon)
- You can tweak this here too, but keeping it a Quadro is a good idea. They're built for workstations and include CUDA and 3D
- modeling optimization. This definitely helps with the performance of premiere, but is technically optional if you're not doing any
- seriously extensive video editing or 3D modeling. Note that if you're NOT doing these things you can get an equivalent GPU for a
- small fraction of the price without these features. For example, the Radeon R7 370 benchmarks similarly and can be had as low as
- $120, but does not include these enhancements.
- Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($74.36 @ Newegg)
- With a Micro ATX board you can replace this with almost anything you'd like. This guy is pretty simple and will get the job done.
- Feel free to check out http://www.newegg.com/Computer-Cases/Category/ID-9 for more options.
- Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($95.61 @ NCIX US)
- Might seem like a lot for something that doesn't offer any computational power, but with components this nice the last thing we
- want is the system to catch fire. Sorry, that's the way it is.
- Wireless Network Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($31.86 @ SuperBiiz)
- You can kill this if you have a dedicated ethernet cable, but just in case.
- Other: Tablet Display ($800.00)
- Take note, no additional monitor is added here. Plus, I don't know how you're going to swing a 22" tablet display for this cheap,
- but the entry level smaller 13" ones go for about this much anyway so I'll leave the pricing where it is.
- Total: $2225.01
- Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
