It's time for Shiny Numbers.

This is a special program meant for the idols now under the spotlight to have sparkling days along with listeners.

For the very first episode, I, Shimamura Uzuki, will be the host.

Well, first of all comes the Shiny Numbers Fan Letter Corner.

In this corner, it seems I'll be talking about letters sent by listeners.

I'd love to read them all, but I'm going to have to select a few today.

Well then, the first one, from "Kouki-san".

"How do you feel about being Cinderella Girl?" it says.

First of all, thank you very much to everyone who supported me.

First place, huh. This must be the first time in my whole life.

Goals, huh. Hmm... My goal is to give it my best at all the work that producer-san finds for me. Or is that too formal? Like Rin-chan?

As for a role I'd like to act out, hmm... how about an evil role.

Aaah, but maybe papa and mama might tell me it doesn't suit me, so I'll just go with the role of a normal girl.

Moving on, next from "Kou-san".

"What do you like best in your mother's cooking? Did she cheer you on this time?" is the question.

Got similar questions from "Nanaemon-san" and others as well.

Well, from mama's food, I like normal home cooked food like omurice, pasta, hamburg (tl note: Salisbury steak).

As for cheering on, mama was very happy, and papa even brought me a bouquet.

Continuing, next up from "Beleri(??)-san". (tl note: No clue what this name is, but it doesn't matter anyway)

"What is the source of Shimamura Uzuki-san's smile? I want to smile like you too," is what the letter says.

Got letters about smile from "Fate-san" and others as well.

Source of smile, huh. Hmmm... Well, if you're angry or sad, you can't smile, right? So first, doing happy and fun things is important.

For me, being an idol was a dream I longed for. And now when I think about how that dream has come true, even if there are tough times, I can smile.

So, the source of Shimamura Uzuki's smile is somewhere in there.

...I wonder if that was of any use. Everyone please spend your days with a smile.

Right, this is the last one, from "NewLeader-san".

"Congratulations on being Cinderella Girl, Shimamura Uzuki-chan. I think it's all because you worked hard with a smile on your face."

"Question to Uzuki-chan. Do you believe in fate?" is what the letter says.

Fate... That's difficult. Hmmm... Well, I do think you can get lucky and have good things happen.

But it's not like everything in the world happens because of fate, right?

I may have become an idol by chance, but if I had just given up without trying hard, maybe no one would have looked at me.

And the people who supported me, I think their feelings are more important than something like fate.

So, I do believe in fate, but I think it's important to work hard so that it doesn't become just mere chance.

...Huh? I wonder if that made any sense. I'm worried because Mio-chan or Rin-chan aren't around to correct when it's just me here. Ehehe.

In this corner, the host will follow a given instruction and give rankings to things, but I don't really get it, so let's try and see.

What I consider important #5 is

Breakfast!

Umm... I'm sorry it's such a normal thing. But having a meal with the family is important to me, because I love papa, mama and grandma.

Since I started idol work, missing dinner with them has been common. So I try my best to have breakfast with them.

I picked breakfast with that meaning.

Moving on, what I consider important #4 is

Smartphone!

Aaah... I picked something boring again, didn't I? I feel Mio-chan would say "Shimamuu, something more interesting!"

But it really is important, okay? I use it to talk to my friends and play games when I'm on the way.

A-and it's useful for idol work too!

I can listen to the songs I have to perform on the way, watch dance videos many times. S-see, it's important, right? Yes! It's important. Can't be missed!

With that, continuing, what I consider important #3 is

Being normal!

I-it's not like I wanted to finally pick something interesting, okay? There's a reason for this.

To be normal is to basically, not be strange, and to be what's ordinary.

Things like being kind to people or greeting someone can be considered normal, and then things like working hard to study, properly doing lessons or helping out at home.

I don't have any special talents, and not especially great and singing or dancing either, so I want to be able to do everything normally.

That is why being normal is important to me. See? That's a very good reason, right? [Doya noise]

Alright, going ahead, what I consider important #2 is

Effort!

It seems I say "I'll do my best" a lot. Maybe it's a habit?

I didn't really notice it myself, but Miho-chan, Kyoko-chan, Trainer-san, and others around often tell me, and Anzu-chan gets tired of it like "well aren't you just eager."

But yes, I like to try my best. It's not that I want to be praised for it, but I like to be focused on something.

So even from now on, I'd like to consider putting in effort and doing my best to be important. I think that's what being like Shimamura Uzuki is.

Smiling!

Even the letters today praised me for my smile, and I often get told I have a good smile.

But it's not just my smile that's important.

As an idol, the smiles of the fans and the smiles of the friends who work with me on stage are important.

Then the staff who I work with, everyone in the agency, my producer-san, friends, family, all their smiles are important.

And right now, my goal is to be an idol who can make everyone around the world smile. So I will continue my work, with smiling in mind.
