  1. >The speech lasted for another full hour after the reading of your mom Celestia’s letter was done. This ordeal was on your top three of most painful experiences ever.
  2. >It was only topped by Tijuana and that time when your mom Luna decided to make breakfast. You still have nightmares about those cucumber tacos.
  3. >No one at your table, or any other table for that matter were able to stay awake for the whole thing. With Cherrywood taking the prize by falling asleep as soon as the stallion started to read the letter.
  4. >Pearl was a bit subtler, she stared at the stallion the whole time, holding a polite smile on her face, but the fact that she barely blinked or even got curious about your horrible realization made it obvious that she “turned her brain off”.
  5. >Speaking of horrible realizations, the only thing that kept you awake were the fear and despair you were feeling, and of course the fact that you didn’t want to spend the rest of your childhood in detention.
  6. >The only one who took everything like a champ was Thorax, part of it was that your friend was as worried as you were, but mostly because, as you latter found out, he had to go through worse during his time as Chrysalis’ spy.
  7. >After the trip through Tartarus that whole talk was, the dinner finally came, courtesy by the most stereotypical prench stallions you have and will ever see in your life. Man, if only Aegia was here.
  8. >The food was good though, nothing on the level of what the chefs at Canterlot Castle or your mom Celestia could do, but this weird potato cream that was supposed to be the soup was super rad.
  9. >What wasn’t cool at all was the fact that you had to explain Pearl and that the original plan had nowhere to go but to the garbage.
  10.
  11. “That’s the gist of it… I’m sure that whatever those shadows are, they have enough power to cut out all communications but probably not enough to prevent all magic from being used… or maybe they do but didn’t use it so no one could notice anything weird going on, in which case, man that’s clever! Uh… So, what I want to say is… we need another plan”
  12. >The first one to speak was Pearl. She broke a piece of bread and pointed at you with it while holding a very arrogant look on her face “Do you see my dear cousin? I told you we’re going on a monster hunting. Nothing can get in-between me and my fun. Not even-“
  13. >“So the necklace turned out to be a bummer and the radio dish is a dumb waste. I guess it’s time for plan C” Cherrywood cut her off and took a sip of her soup “We knock the lights out of Annony so he can tell Luna what’s going on.”
  14. >Peal frowned at Cherrywood as she poked her shoulder “Hey, Bellemare! What about the monster hu..”
  15. “That’s plan C alright… except for the part of beating me up. The problem is, it will still take too much time for my moms to come. We need to come up with something in case we have to go on the offensive”
  16. >“I know!” Pearl exclaimed with excitement and clapped her hooves together “We should do a monster hun…”
  17. >“Uhm… Anon, I still have a question” Thorax cut her off and took a bite out of a piece of bread “Can’t the Princess just call Discord and Eris and be done with it?”
  18. >“Or! Or, or ooooor!” Pearl flailed her hooves to get everyone’s attention “We can leave this boring dinner and…”
  19. “Y’see, my friend. Without the radio, the only way to get in contact with those two is via Fluttershy, the thing is, we can’t put all our eggs on that basket because she probably went with Twilight to Griffonstone.”
  20. >Pearl puffed her cheeks, slammed her hooves on the table and yelled “AAAARGH! It’s so simple! We just have to…”
  21.
  22. >This time, Pearl didn’t get cut-off by anyone at the table, instead, it was something much worse. The blizzard had somehow reached the camp, and it was raging with so much intensity that the high windows shattered in matter of seconds, bringing a glacial cold… and a whole lot of snow into the hall.
  23. >There were so many things wrong about that. For starters, the Crystal Heart should’ve prevented this from happening, but more importantly… everything happened too fast and too sudden, especially for a blizzard this strong.
  24. >As disturbing and important as these facts were, you didn’t have time for thinking about them. Panic started to spread like a wildfire among all the foals in the hall.
  25. >They were screaming in fear and running around like headless chickens as the teachers fruitlessly tried their best to calm them down.
  26. >“Do a monster hunting?” Pearl awkwardly giggled before turning to you “My dear cousin, I think this is your cue!”
  27. “No kidding! Cherrywood, you’re in charge for now! Take Thorax, Pearl and everyone you can to the main lobby. Meanwhile, I’m gonna…”
  28. >If all this chaos and madness wasn’t enough bad news, the moment you jumped off your chair and galloped towards the main stage, you noticed something moving at the other side of the lake.
  29. “Oh, come on!”
  30. >In the cold darkness, the same lights that you saw before were moving in the direction of the camp. Whatever those things were, they definitely were making their move, and it wasn’t friendly.
  31. >Alright! Your friends already left! Time to get everyone the heck outta here!
  32.
  33. >You teleported to the main stage, and the first thing you saw there was the pompous stallion, giver of the most boring speech ever known to pony kind cowering in a corner.
  34. “Dang, man! Have some class! You’re supposed to be in charge of this gaudy resort! You gotta… Forget it, I’m gonna do your job instead… which is also my job… whatever”
  35. >You let out a sigh, shook your head, and finally, yelled as hard your lungs allowed you to.
  36. “Everyone! Please listen to me!”
  37. >No one listened to you… of course, what the heck were you expecting?! You will need to use your magic for this… and a bit of your mom Luna.
  38. >So by gathering a bit of magic in your horn, you shot a small flare that exploded with a loud *BOOM* in order to get the attention of everyone… and of course, you used the Canterlot voice because you were kind of annoyed.
  39. “BE STILL!”
  40. >Man! how comes you never realized how frickin’ cool this voice was? Everyone was looking at you now!
  41. >But before you said anything else, you took a quick glance at the windows… the lights… they were gone. What in Equestria was going on?!
  42. >Despite your paranoia being at an all-time high, you did your best to maintain your composure to at least gave the impression that you weren’t about to have a nervous breakdown.
  43. “MY FRIENDS! I KNOW HOW SCARY THIS MAY SEEM, BUT PLEASE, TRUST ME, THERE’S NOTHING TO FEAR. EVEN IF YOU ARE SCARED, YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT ALL OF YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THIS. SOME SNOW IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT WE CAN DO IF WE STAY UNITED IN HARMONY”
  44. >While it was clear that they were still scared, everyone stayed calm long enough for Sunny Hill to be able to take over by gently pushing you to a side.
  45. >“Everypony!” Sunny Hill said “Please evacuate the hall in an orderly fashion. We will guide you to your cabins, where you will remain until further notice. Do not worry about the blizzard, Prince Anon will provide a shield to protect us from it!”
  46.
  47. >Surprisingly, it worked, despite the strong winds and the snow, everyone quickly and effectively left the place without too much ruckus.
  48. >Everyone except for you, because Sunny Hill stopped you from going until the hall was completely empty.
  49. >The old mare then grabbed you by the shoulders and gave you a good a shake “Mr. Anon! We have something very important to talk about!”
  50. “You think that I don’t know that?! Geez, Sunny Hill, just look around you!”
  51. >“This is not the time for one of your petty comments, Mr. Anon!” Sunny Hill said with a desperate tone as she gave you a good shake “And you better be able to cast that shield or I swear that you will spend the rest of your school days in detention! Am I clear?!”
  52. >You teleported the both of you to the hall’s entrance. You then have her a smug grin and opened the door with your magic.
  53. “Leave the magic stuff to me! You make sure that I don’t get everyone lost in this snow!”
  54. >And so, the teachers and the camp staff gathered every foal in two lines. You and Sunny Hill were at the front. The rest of the teachers went at the back of the line to make sure that no one stayed behind while the camp staff stayed at the mansion to fix the hall windows and try to contact the Crystal Empire.
  55. >Which you were sure it wasn’t going to work, but hey! It was worth the shot! Even more because you had other things to worry at the moment.
  56. >So once the shield spell was casted, and everyone was ready, you stepped out of the mansion and into the cold road.
  57. >And boy oh boy, the weather somehow got even worse in such a short time. The strong winds made it impossible to hear anything other than its furious howling.
