  1. CoderHire will be shutting down on Tuesday 30th September for further sales. Due to personal commitments and health reasons, I can no longer run the site. This is not a decision I have made lightly but I feel this is the best thing to do to avoid a complete cut off or a steep decline in the state of the site.
  2.
  3. On 30th September, the site will be switched to a read-only mode. The site will remain in this read-only state for no less than 6 months until at least 30th March 2015.
  4.
  5. Please see this thread if you are a developer for more information.
  6.
  7. What happens next?
  8.
  9. Any scripts that have been purchased through CoderHire were bought directly from developers. This means that although scripts will no longer be available for purchase here, they are still subject to international copyright law and any license the scripts were sold under.
  10.
  11. This means you still cannot share, redistribute, give away or release any script that has been bought through this website. It also means that using scripts from CoderHire that you did not purchase is still illegal.
  12.
  13. FEATURES AVAILABLE AFTER 30TH SEPTEMBER
  14.
  15. Users will be able to:
  16.
  17. View and download their purchased scripts.
  18. View purchased scripts (further commenting and reviews will be disabled).
  19. Create, view and reply to support tickets for purchased scripts.
  20. Developers with any previous developer subscription will be able to:
  21.
  22. View purchased and the Developer Dashboard.
  23. View and respond to support tickets.
  24. Upload new versions of active scripts for bug fixes.
  25. FEATURES NO LONGER AVAILABLE AFTER 30TH SEPTEMBER
  26.
  27. Jobs section.
  28. Script browsing section.
  29. Forums.
  30. Reputation/jobs/scripts information on user profiles.
  31. Reporting systems.
  32. Why not pass CoderHire on or let someone else run it?
  33.
  34. There are email addresses for 21,000 users and PayPal information for 60,000 purchases that I have been trusted with and I don't want to let any of that information fall into the wrong hands. I do not trust anyone but myself with the responsibility for that data.
  35.
  36. Alternatives to CoderHire have been made in the past which were less than trustworthy - I don't want CoderHire to share a similar fate using my code or the data that's been collected.
  37.
  38. If I were to let someone else run it, I would still have overall responsibility for the site which I can unfortunately no longer undertake.
  39.
  40. I will not sell the site or any of the data associated with it.
  41.
  42. Thank You
  43.
  44. I have been very passionate about the Garry's Mod community for over 7 years and have put lots of time and money into it, making some good friends and working on great projects along the way, culminating in CoderHire; the place that brought entertainment to thousands.
  45.
  46. I'm extremely proud of the journey we've been on from job posting site to script marketplace and want to thank you all for making CoderHire a great community over the last year and a half.
  47.
  48. I would also like to thank all of the staff members who have helped out with moderating and running the site, I am truly in your debt, in particular Kamshak, MDave and Crap-Head. None of this would have been possible without you.
  49.
  50. It's with a heavy heart that it has to come to an end.
  51.
  52. I wish all of you the best of the luck for the future.
  53.
  54. Adam
