- Telurran theology- Araanienism
- • There is one god, Creation (monotheism)
- o He is good, all-powerful, and is represented in the religion by sun and fire
- • Creation has six aspects, personified by the Divinities
- o Valen- Aspect of Truth and Justice
- o Agion- Aspect of Purpose and Good Thoughts
- o Iuren- Aspect of Devotion, Serenity, and Kindness
- o Avita- Aspect of Wholeness and Health
- o Galus- Aspect of Power of Righteousness
- o Ornim- Aspect of Longevity and Prosperity
- • The world was made pure, good, and immortal
- • God dwells in heaven
- • Creation’s opposite is Ruination, who comes from the depths of Hell
- • Ruination brought darkness, death, and impurity to Telurra
- • To help his people, Creation sent a prophet to help the mortals live good lives
- o This prophet was Araan the Blessed
- • Araan would pen the holy book of the faith, the Words of Creation, which detailed how to best fight Ruination’s corruptive touch
- • Community and family focus
- • Mortals are not the servants of Creation, but are instead Creation’s helpers. They fight to make Telurra a paradise once more
- • Free will means that mortals can either travel down a righteous path and be elevated to Heaven after death, or walk a wicked path and be condemned to Hell
- • All people, rich or poor, man or woman, are equal in the eyes of Creation
- • Prayer is personal, with only a few ceremonies calling for communal worship
- o Prayers are invocational, calling upon and celebrating God rather than asking for forgiveness for their sins.
- • The faith has no official stance on the practices of magic
- • Believes that all other gods are further aspects of God, and other religions are, as such, tolerated
- Saints of Araanienism are those who are ascended to divinity through their actions, exemplifying one of the heroic virtues held so high in the religion during times of adversity.
- These saints are given the power of demigods, but they can die.
- Araanien saints are recorded in a tome known as the “Book of Saints” which contains the names of all saints that have lived. Some saints held within include Saint Aramis the Honorable, Saint Brador the Valorous, Saint Jacqualine the Charitable, Saint Justine the Diligent, and Saint Wolfram the Just.
