<Jaspersprite> *** Sollux skims the book and-- holy shit, this WAS a scary eerie-eye book. He manages to learn something particularly helpful, but at the same time, he just can't get those /eyes/ out of his head. He is overcome with FEAR as he learns a new spell: Petrify!

<Jaspersprite> *** The party follows the river upstream for a short time before finding a decent way into the forest. Trees stand tall and crash into a thick canopy of leaves and foliage far above the party. From all around, the sounds of animals and bugs can be heard audiably, despite the majority of them staying very much so out of sight.
-*- fightingWinner starts to think that these people are crazy, there are probably bears other dangerous animals out here.
-*- ZeeZee will be reaching into his inventory and pulling out the "Fists of Friendship" for the moment, sliding them on just in case...
<Jaspersprite> *** You don't know the half of it, Dayna. Sollux promptly equips his Fists of Friendship, the fabric clinging tight to his gray hand. He feels like such a friendly guy now! So friendly, he could sock a puppy right in the face.

<Jaspersprite> *** Nothing quite what Gamzee hopes happens actually... happens. Several birds of all kinds and colors fly out from their respective spots at the sudden sharp noise, along with a plethora of tiny woodland critters that scitter away.

<Nitro> Halley, more than happy to escape the boring seaside town full of pirate murderers and probably other rather sinister people, began sniffing around immediately! Perhaps he could find the scent of the object of their search with his Super Sniffer?
-*- ZeeZee examines his gloves for a bit before looking over to the woofbe-Halley. "2o what exactly are we lookiing for here?"
<Jaspersprite> *** With a helping hand from his god-given talents, Halley begins to search the surrounding area very much so thoroughly. After some time of this, he successfully manages to pick up the scent of just what they were after-- something rotting a bit further in the forest. Perhaps a carcass of an animal? But it's difficult to say exactly, and it's your only real
<Jaspersprite> lead to the unfortunate gung-ho adventurer lost in the woods.
<Nitro> Halley, latching onto the scent like it was a tangible being, abruptly bounded forward in the direction that the scent of rot seemed to be leading him, howling as if to call his companions forward. It tasted foul on his tongue but he paid little mind. He was a dog, and an adventure-hardened dog as well. He could handle it.

Past shrubbery and vines, they come across a natural CAVE entrance just by a clearing. The silence in this particular part of the forest is foreboding, not a single animal making
