  1. [10:48] * dancingBlade dancingBlade [DB] has begun pestering hysteronProteron [HP]
  2. [10:49] <dancingBlade> DB: You there ~~~=>
  3. [10:49] <dancingBlade> DB: Tell me about yourself ~~~~~=>
  4. [10:49] <dancingBlade> DB: I'm very bored ~~~~~~=>
  5. [10:49] <hysteronProteron> I am there. Hello.
  6. [10:49] <hysteronProteron> My name is 'Anguis'. Can I help you?
  7. [10:50] <dancingBlade> DB: I'm Ensera. Tell me about yourself~~~~~~~=> for at the moment, I am very bored and would like to learn new things
  8. [10:51] <hysteronProteron> HP: Hello 'Ensera'. What would you like to learn about? I have a computer to look up any questions you might have.
  9. [10:52] <dancingBlade> DB: I want to learn about yourself, ~~~~~~=> listen the first time I say it
  10. [10:52] <dancingBlade> DB: I'm bored and my shitty pocket computer can barely operate this chat as is
  11. [10:53] <hysteronProteron> HP: I see. Well, 'Ensera', my name is 'Anguis' as I have said. What else about me do you wish to learn?
  12. [10:54] <dancingBlade> DB: You're clearly deaf, blind, or stupid if you fail to understand what "yourself" means
  13. [10:54] <dancingBlade> DB: Tell me about your life, what you do, your history and lineage, your job, ~~~~~~~=> and whatever else you can
  14. [10:55] <hysteronProteron> HP: I have been called all three of those many times, but I do not believe this time they are accurate.
  15. [10:56] <hysteronProteron> HP: I live in my hive in the city, like most trolls. I am a student of legislaceration. I have no meaningful history, but my lineage traces back to The Orthodox. As of yet I have no job.
  16. [10:56] <dancingBlade> DB: Who is the Orthodox?
  17. [10:56] <dancingBlade> DB: Were they a Legislacerator and what are those?
  18. [10:57] <hysteronProteron> HP: My ancestor. He was a judge.
  19. [10:58] <hysteronProteron> HP: The Orthodox began life as a humble legislacerator, only to surpass and exceed all expectations placed upon him and wind up serving directly beneath 'His Honourable Tyranny' himself.
  20. [10:58] <dancingBlade> DB: Who's that
  21. [10:58] <hysteronProteron> HP: Who is who?
  22. [10:59] <dancingBlade> DB: And here I thought you weren't as stupid as you initially appeared to be. ~~~~~=> I asked who His Honourable Tyranny is
  23. [10:59] <hysteronProteron> HP: I think in this situation it may be you who is the deaf, blind, or stupid one. Everyone knows who 'His Honourable Tyranny' is.
  24. [11:00] <dancingBlade> DB: I live in the desert and I'm talking to you on a shitty pocket computer strapped to my wrist while I lay here with my lusus
  25. [11:00] <dancingBlade> DB: I've never seen anything except for endless sand dunes and ancient ruins scattered throughout
  26. [11:01] <dancingBlade> DB: I should apologize for my insults, I guess
  27. [11:01] <dancingBlade> DB: It's not often someone is willing to satiate my curiosity
  28. [11:01] <dancingBlade> DB: So I apologize for acting so rude.
  29. [11:01] <hysteronProteron> HP: Perhaps it would occur more often if you were to act less abrasive.
  30. [11:01] <dancingBlade> DB: It's unbecoming of myself as a member of my tribe
  31. [11:03] <dancingBlade> DB: Hmmm ~~~~=> yes perhaps, but my patience is short and exploring ruins that can crumble and collapse at any moment has ensured my patience can't extend for very long
  32. [11:03] <dancingBlade> DB: Much to my behest
  33. [11:03] <dancingBlade> DB: If only I could see more of what those ruins had to offer
  34. [11:04] <hysteronProteron> HP: Have you considered exercising patience so that you do not cause any ruins to collapse as a result of your activity?
  35. [11:04] <dancingBlade> DB: I have to be as careful as possible whenever exploring these ruins, and yet they still inevitably crumble and collapse
  36. [11:04] <dancingBlade> DB: If I could, I would happily spend sweeps searching every nook and cranny in search of their secrets
  37. [11:05] <dancingBlade> DB: And let me be clear
  38. [11:05] <dancingBlade> DB: I am no reckless explorer
  39. [11:05] <hysteronProteron> HP: Ruins rarely tend to collapse unprovoked.
  40. [11:06] <dancingBlade> DB: I live in the Alternian desert, where the suns are at their most powerful and the winds and sand pay no heed to anyone's desire to explore or maintain ruins
  41. [11:06] <hysteronProteron> HP: The fact that they persist long enough to become ruins should stand as a testament to this fact.
  42. [11:07] <dancingBlade> DB: The ruins scattered throughout this barren wasteland have been here for what must be countless sweeps, and they've only been standing so long as no one steps foot and disturbs the fragile balance they maintain
  43. [11:08] <dancingBlade> DB: I've seen firsthand the fragility of the ruins once disturbed
  44. [11:08] <hysteronProteron> Then perhaps you should be more careful so as to not disturb them after all.
  45. [11:08] <hysteronProteron> Patience is a virtue. The hunt takes time to do well.
  46. [11:08] <dancingBlade> DB: Unfortunately my curiosity and the aching tedium of living in this desert would drive me insane if otherwise
  47. [11:09] <dancingBlade> DB: I take as much time as I can to be as careful as I can
  48. [11:09] <dancingBlade> DB: But these ruins are fragile once stepped inside
  49. [11:09] <dancingBlade> DB: They hold on by threads, and once I put weight on those threads they begin to snap
  50. [11:10] <hysteronProteron> Then take more time, and learn to avoid the offending threads.
  51. [11:10] <dancingBlade> DB: if only the ruins were as identical as you think they were
  52. [11:10] <hysteronProteron> The ruins will not disappear if you spend another week preparing.
  53. [11:10] <dancingBlade> DB: Yet my tribe will move on and must keep pace or risk abandonment
  54. [11:12] <dancingBlade> DB: These ruins are literally passing interests that I can only indulge myself in whenever my tribe is stationary, which is not often
  55. [11:12] <dancingBlade> DB: So it falls upon myself to be quick in exploring and discovering before the ruins collapse or my tribe moves on
  56. [11:13] <hysteronProteron> Yet you are the cause of these collapses.
  57. [11:14] <dancingBlade> DB: I know that very well, yet there exists no reasonable method within plausibility to change that
  58. [11:15] <dancingBlade> DB: But in the end, I am satisfied with the ability to explore these ruins either way
  59. [11:15] <dancingBlade> DB: Even if my curiosity cannot be sated, to even explore the possibilities and secrets in the first place is a joy in and of itself
  60. [11:16] <dancingBlade> DB: I think this conversation has been sidetracked for long enough, though
  61. [11:16] <dancingBlade> DB: You ~~~~~~~=>
  62. [11:16] <dancingBlade> DB: Haven't told me anything new about yourself
  63. [11:16] <dancingBlade> DB: So, please, tell me what a legisacerator is
  64. [11:17] <hysteronProteron> A legislacerator is a hunter of criminals.
  65. [11:17] <dancingBlade> DB: How do they hunt criminals?
  66. [11:17] <hysteronProteron> They are akin to your interpretation of a treasure hunter, with the caveat that their quarry is active, intelligent, and does not want to be captured.
  67. [11:18] <hysteronProteron> Our work has a time limit that patience and planning will not circumvent.
  68. [11:19] <dancingBlade> DB: Fascinating!
  69. [11:20] <dancingBlade> DB: We share a surprising amount of similarities
  70. [11:20] <hysteronProteron> Indeed.
  71. [11:20] <dancingBlade> DB: What else is there to learn about you?
  72. [11:22] <hysteronProteron> There is not a significant amount of other information to learn. I eat, I sleep, I study, I practice. More would require time unspent on these, which will negatively affect my future.
  73. [11:23] <dancingBlade> DB: I can understand that sentiment. If I were to spend any less time ensuring I can keep pace with my tribe I would certainly suffer for it
  74. [11:24] <hysteronProteron> Indeed. As a mudblood my chances of success are already approaching the minimum.
  75. [11:25] <dancingBlade> DB: You're a mudblood? What does that term mean?
  76. [11:26] <hysteronProteron> Apologies for colloquialism. My blood is bronze.
  77. [11:27] <dancingBlade> DB: I see. Despite my efforts, I've not learned much about society outside the desert, most likely due to my technological limitations. I knew not of any colloquialisms for blood color
  78. [11:28] <hysteronProteron> This is understandable. One cannot be held accountable for their own level of access to public information.
  79. [11:30] <dancingBlade> DB: True. Could you tell me more about these colloquialisms and their meanings?
  80. [11:30] <hysteronProteron> My blood is the colour of mud. That is the entirety of the meaning.
  81. [11:31] <dancingBlade> DB: I asked about other colloquialisms, specifically
  82. [11:31] <dancingBlade> DB: Though I would also like to ask why your blood color is associated with mud
  83. [11:33] <hysteronProteron> Other colloquialisms include rustbloods, mustardbloods, bilebloods, greenbloods, bluebloods, highbloods, as well as the distinction between landdweller and seadweller.
  84. [11:33] <hysteronProteron> My blood colour is associated with mud because my blood and mud are the same colour. They are both brown.
  85. [11:34] <dancingBlade> DB: I suppose that makes sense.
  86. [11:34] <dancingBlade> DB: But who exactly are seadwellers?
  87. [11:35] <hysteronProteron> Trolls of the violet caste, as well as The Empress.
  88. [11:35] <dancingBlade> DB: Who is the empress? What color is her blood?
  89. [11:37] <hysteronProteron> The Empress's blood is fuchsia. I would advise you to remember that fact. Such an insult to her highness would be unlikely to go unpunished, regardless of your ignorance as to society at large.
  90. [11:38] <dancingBlade> DB: Fuschia? My own blood is of that color
  91. [11:39] <hysteronProteron> This is not a matter to joke about, 'Ensera'.
  92. [11:39] <dancingBlade> DB: Have I created the impression that I like jokes?
  93. [11:40] <dancingBlade> DB: I tell no lies
  94. [11:40] <hysteronProteron> Then you are mistaken.
  95. [11:41] <hysteronProteron> This is understandable, but not something to be taken lightly.
  96. [11:41] <dancingBlade> DB: I may make mistakes, but my own blood color isn't one of them
  97. [11:41] <dancingBlade> DB: But for what reason? My blood color has no influence on my ability to live my life from day to day
  98. [11:42] <dancingBlade> DB: And it has no influence on the decisions and abilities of others to live their own lives
  99. [11:42] <hysteronProteron> Declaring oneself as being on par with The Empress is not something one does without facing consequences.
  100. [11:42] <hysteronProteron> I would heavily advise you to erase this log and learn your true caste soon.
  101. [11:43] <hysteronProteron> Likely, you are simply a sorely mistaken purpleblood.
  102. [11:43] <dancingBlade> DB: But I don't declare myself to be her equal. I am a desert wanderer, and I most likely will be nothing more, though I wish I could go beyond this cursed prison of ever-shifting dunes
  103. [11:43] <dancingBlade> DB: And once more, I tell no lies about my blood color
  104. [11:44] <dancingBlade> DB: I care not about royalty or whatever it entails
  105. [11:44] <dancingBlade> DB: I only wish to explore and discover new secrets throughout the world
  106. [11:44] <hysteronProteron> Then you would be wise to do so as a purpleblood.
  107. [11:44] <dancingBlade> DB: But why?
  108. [11:45] <hysteronProteron> So that you are not culled.
  109. [11:45] <dancingBlade> DB: That is an extreme measure to take against one such as I
  110. [11:46] <dancingBlade> DB: Why would anyone need to resort to it?
  111. [11:46] <hysteronProteron> There are those who would say it is not extreme enough.
  112. [11:46] <dancingBlade> DB: I will heed your advice for now
  113. [11:46] <dancingBlade> DB: If it comes up in the future, I won't let anyone know about my blood color
  114. [11:46] <hysteronProteron> Good.
  115. [11:47] <hysteronProteron> Now I will scrub this log from my computer, and I heavily advise you do the same.
  116. [11:47] <dancingBlade> DB: with that I must say goodbye as well
  117. [11:47] <dancingBlade> DB: The tribe members are picking up their packs and beginning to move
  118. [11:47] <hysteronProteron> Goodbye, then.
  119. [11:48] <hysteronProteron> With all due respect, I hope we never meet again.
  120. [11:48] <dancingBlade> DB: I'll see what I can do about removing this log, if it's possible on my shitty computer
  121. [11:48] <dancingBlade> DB: Goodbye
  122. [11:48] * dancingBlade has stopped pestering hysteronProteron
