61.
62.
Drathan Stoneborn is the eldest son of Toron Stoneborn, High Watcher of the Dwarven city of Thanehelm. From a very young age, his father, whose duties included managing the guards of the city and training new soldiers, was a very strong influence on the dwarven boy. Deciding to follow in his father's footsteps, Drathan devoted himself to martial training and learning the strategy of war.
63.
64. When he reached adulthood, Drathan began to train with the Thanehelm militia in earnest. Here he met Brother Tosid Gatecrasher, a priest of Kols who had enlisted in the Thanehelm militia in order to protect his home. The two became fast friends, due to Tosid's friendly nature, even despite Drathan's famous hardheadedness. Eventually, the priest of Kols' faith rubbed off on the younger Stoneborn, causing him to request to work as a squire in the town's church, where he served as an aid to Tosid.
65.
66. Due to his great martial prowess and unwavering faith in the Oath-keeper, Drathan found himself knighted by the High Paragons of Thanehelm at a very young age, while only 65. Having proved himself in countless duels, and being very tactically minded, he eventually worked up into the upper echelons of Thanehelm's militia, as well. Despite this, the well-respected Stoneborn had not actually ever seen combat. However, that all changed when the enemies of Thanehelm banded together, shortly after Drathan turned 82.
67.
68. The Siege of Thanehelm started with endless waves of trolls, ogres and the undead. Though the dwarven stronghold held for many years against this invasion, despite knowing little about the ones leading it, their defenses could only last so long. Their food supplies and soldiers fit to fight slowly dwindled, until the final battle of Thanehelm was upon them. It was in this battle that both Toron and Tosid fell before Drathan's eyes. Unable to save either his father or his friend, the dwarf wailed and rampaged against the beasts that had slain them, before a change washed over him. His skin changed first, turning from a pale tone to a dark tan underneath the layer of blood that covered him. Then his hair changed from a dark brown to a shocking silver. And finally, his eyes changed from a mellow green to a shining sapphire, licks of holy flame pouring from them as he began to truly rage for the first time. His blood began to pound through his body, magic suffusing every bit of him. Fighting like a cornered beast, Drathan was now something entirely different than the dwarves he fought alongside.
69.
70. When the battle was finally won, little remained of Thanehelm besides mostly wrecked buildings and a handful of survivors. With little remaining to keep him there, and his friends and family slain, Drathan began to travel, hunting monsters and the undead to feed himself. With his newfound powers still hard to control, he spends his every day seeking vengeance, trying his hardest to maintain control, lest the magics that roil in his blood take control of him, instead.
71.
72.
Drathan met Professor Lorrimor mostly by chance. Traveling through the countryside, the Bloodrager came upon a carriage beset by zombies. Not sparing a second, Stoneborn charged the mindless creatures, crushing their skulls with his weapon.
73.
74. Once they were defeated, he checked on the carriage, finding its driver dead. The dwarfborn aasimar opened the door of the vehicle to check on the inhabitants, to find Petros Lorrimor huddled in the corner, a dagger held warningly in front of him. Covered in the zombie's blood and rotting flesh, Drathan had to dodge the Professor's terrified strike before trying to calm him down. "Easy there! I ain't here for your brains!" the monster hunter had assured Lorrimor, hands raised and a concerned look on his face. Once Petros had relaxed, Drathan offered to drive the carriage to the nearest town, an offer that the Professor gladly accepted.
75.
76. When they reached civilization, thankfully unmolested by any more evil creatures, the Professor thanked Drathan profusely, assuring him that this favor would not be forgotten. Thinking little more of it, the dwarf takes his leave and continues on his way. Little did he know that this meeting would lead him to Ravengro after the Professor's passing...
77.
78.
Drathan is a tall, heavily-muscled dwarfborn aasimar. His heritage is apparent in his silver hair, sapphire blue eyes, and bronze skintone. His beard is well-kept and split into three short braids, a silver binding on each. He generally has an annoyed look on his face, but it is his eyes that truly express how he is feeling.
79.
80. When he is not wearing his armor, Drathan prefers to wear simple clothing, mostly in reds, browns and greys.
81.
82. Portrait of Drathan.
83.
84.
Drathan is a very forthright, honest person. Sometimes a little too forthright and honest. He is always well-meaning, doing what he believes is right. He is a stalwart defender of the living, his every action intended to stem the tide of monsters and undead that would harm the populace of Golarion. The dwarfborn aasimar's loyalty and friendship are hard-earned, but very much worth it, as he is both a devoted companion and friend.
85.
86. When provoked, however, Drathin is a man possessed. His fury in destroying his quarry is single-minded and without equal. He is hard-headed and can be difficult to work with, especially if he feels others are standing between him and his monster slaying duty. Those that have earned his loyalty, however, can usually convince the man to stand down.
